The realistic (well, highly detailed) faces give off MAD Magazine vibes and I'm here for it.

The manager could be right off a MAD page. (The style of Dave Berg I think? )

I'd watch a show about Dark Elf Wizard Naznarul working here.

u/Tuxedo_Muffin 24d ago
It turns out to be a secret pilot for a new Aqua Teen Hunger Force
45
u/Despair4All 24d ago
It definitely would fit on Adult Swim but I think it'd be better if the animation was done similar to Metalocalypse.
23
u/RecsRelevantDocs 24d ago
The Devil Is a Part-Timer is basically this as an anime and it's amazing, can't recommend it enough.

Props to the lady for not running away after seeing a grown ass man coughing an egg and giving birth to himself
She must like the restaurant very much
238
u/Bit_part_demon 24d ago
She probably works retail
45
36
u/Sedowa 24d ago
Legitimately, as long as you aren't stealing or harassing employees anyone who works retail is just going to treat it as another day. Gives us things to talk about to the new hires!
I regret not being there the day we had a streaker run through my store.
7
u/Freak-996 24d ago
I had a lady doing cocaine in the bathroom in my first week. A senior just brushed it into a trashcan and called it a day after she was kicked out. I also saw my uncle shoplifting. Weirdly, I miss that job.
23
u/Emperor_Time 24d ago
Maybe she is a Dragon Ball fan and it reminded her of how King Piccolo gave birth to himself by coughing up an egg who became Piccolo Jr.?
19
u/vi_sucks 24d ago
Have you been to a fast food joint in the South? That's probably not the weirdest thing she's seen. That week.

you'd think he'd sent the Karen to some eldritch entity beyond human comprehension but then its just some guy name John
37
u/ntdavis814 24d ago
But she has to wander through the seven hells to meet with him. The entrance is in the back of the store, next to the broom closet.

But the Karen was the Eldritch abomination all along and was tricked into a SCP containment vessel.

He makes her look like him, makes her unable to leave the job during the shift while he goes home early. She consequently is confused staring at herself in the bathroom mirror while new customers come in and demand service.
The manager hears the commotion, comes in and screams at her to get back to work. She get's screamed at all day both from customers and the manager and after the shift she turns back to herself.

"I demand to see your manager!"
"Very well."
The flesh of Karen's face swiftly grows over her eyes, completely covering them with an image of the manager.
"Next."
14
u/Sothalic 24d ago
Depends how it's asked.
"I want to see the manager" = induce hallucination that everyone looks like the manager but acts normally otherwise.
"I want to talk to the manager" = induce schizophrenia, with the voices autoritative and manager-minded.
"I want the manager" = polymorph into a copy of the manager.

You got a fantastic setup for a lineage of fun comics by using this idea as a general setup. Please continue making more of these with this Dark Elf. Become a new legacy.
I must consume more of thy comics.

This dark elf needs to team up with the barbarian from dungeon soup (squirt of lemon) and they can handle customers with utmost care.

Except it appears to be a duck inside of a chicken inside a turkey, so it's a Turchiduck.I've been informed that I am misinformed and this is in the correct order.

u/scwt 24d ago
The customer is always right. He couldn't have been lying.
57
u/Thurwell 24d ago
And so Naznarul changed reality so that the customer wasn't lying. You could read this as the delf punishing the guy for lying, but I think he just took both the manager and customer statements literally.

At first I thought he fully just died then, with a clone being produced, but then I realised that would have made his claim "It's MY birthday" incorrect; it would instead have been the birthday of the clone. This means that Naznarul actually rebirthed his body while retaining his mind and soul

So.. is there now a second copy of that guy? Or was his brain basically transferred into this new hatched version of himself, leaving the old one behind as a drained corpse, and the new version is the only remaining one who was "born" on that day now?
11
u/country-blue 24d ago
The fact that:
(a) he still has a bewildered look on his face after being “reborn”, implying a continuum of conscious experience, and
(b) there seems to be some sort of realm of non-physical consciousness in this universe,
then I’m fairly confident that it’s the same guy, who just happened to have his old body “dissolved” and his consciousness transferred into a new one.

My only issue with the mascot is that the order is wrong. They have the duck and chicken layers inverted.
17
u/Drawer_Of_Drawings 24d ago
Damn. See, that's what I thought at first but checked Wikipedia and they had it as the order I drew it. But now I'm seeing that's the only place that has it in that order. I trusted you Wikipedia. I trusted you!

LMAO, this is so fucking great!
As a former retail employee, who literally had people argue with me, "But the customer is always right" BS, this hits close to home.
I'm lucky in that I had access to internet and knew the full quote. So, I'd look it up while listening to them, flip my screen around, and ask them to read the entire quote and explanation:
"The customer is always right in matters of taste" means that when it comes to personal preference and what someone finds aesthetically pleasing, the customer's opinion is considered correct, even if you might not agree with it; essentially, you should respect their subjective choice because taste is personal.
I worked in a fucking electronics store (Radio Shack) and aesthetics didn't really matter there. And what they wanted to argue with me was over what would work with what (they never did work together that way) or that I had to give them a discount or return the wrong merchandise. The worst was a guy who bought a 5 disc DVD changer\player and tried to return his old on that only did 3; cover in cock roaches I might add. He even went so far as to hire a lawyer and private investigator. Thankfully we not only had witnesses but also video evidence of time of purchase and return.

TIL duck is the innermost fowl of a turducken. Always figured the chicken was inside the duck given the order of word roots in the portmanteau. Should call it a turckenuck. Or duckenkey.

u/tricksterloki 24d ago
If you've never had a turducken, claimed to have been created by Hebert’s Meats in Maurice, Louisiana and a yearly feature shown by John Madden, it's a stuffed deboned chicken put with stuffing into a deboned duck, then put into a deboned turkey (optionally the turkey wings and back quarters are left with bones) then baked. It takes forever to prep and cook while being incredibly easy to screw up and give people food poisoning. Turducken is tasty when pulled off, and a slice takes up most of a dinner plate. Having said all that, I want to go to this restauran, because I will not be making one again (no one got sick), and if you do want to make it, I suggest doing a turducken roll (cut to be flat, layered, and rolled, tied, and baked) to cut down on the headache.

Comics are a medium used to express ideas with images, often combined with text or other visual information. It typically takes the form of a sequence of panels of images. Textual devices such as speech balloons, captions, and onomatopoeia can indicate dialogue, narration, sound effects, or other information.
