Admin Post Weekly Recap - August 29, 2024
Hello! It's another Thursday, so it's time for another weekly recap! Let's recap the week!
ISSUES/EVENTS
There is an issue where deleted content is reappearing. This is actively being looked into.
Reddit was down for a little bit yesterday. Redditstatusbot posted about this here and updated when the incident was resolved.
TOP POSTS
About a month ago, we made a post here about new.reddit.com no longer being supported and access to that platform eventually going away. Many users have experienced this recently and made posts about this issue.
We stickied the announcement post in this sub and encourage you to leave constructive feedback in that post so that it can be passed along to the correct team. You can also comment here as well.
Some users are reporting that their saved posts are not accessible. The team is aware of this and is working on a solution. We're using this post over in r/bugs to track the issue. If you're still experiencing this and could comment over there, that would be great!
Earlier this week, some users were reporting that videos were not playing on the desktop site when logged in. This was fixed up pretty quickly and we commented on this post in r/bugs when it was resolved. Thanks to everyone who left comments and information which helped the team get that worked out.

The new UI has so much that is functionally broken. No side menu minimizing, feeds/recent/communities not reminaing minimized on refresh, can't remove recent as an option with blockers as it's tied to the whole faceplate, no followed users list, opening videos won't scroll up in compact mode. The list goes on and on and on ...
The new UI feels like a developer alpha test rather than a flushed out design

The desktop UI change is absolutely horrid and unusable to a not-insignificant percentage of users with sensory processing issues or visual issues, on top of many of the features just don't work based on the posts on here. On top of that you're going through and locking or outright removing posts about the UI, which regardless of your intentions does nothing but scream "stifling criticism". You would think the sheer volume of posts would be indicative of how many people absolutely want nothing to do with the actually awful UI that you're forcing on them, but the ignoring or silencing of those posts paint a clear enough picture that you're just going to try and keep sweeping under the rug and telling people "no you don't hate it, you actually love it".

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 29 '24
Hey! Thanks for the reply! I would like to share the visual/sensory issues that are occurring with the team in charge of these features. Could you please provide some specific instances or examples that will show what's going on? Thanks!

u/Lack-of-Luck Aug 29 '24
There are a number of posts pointing it out from other users, but one of the things is just how much is on screen at a given time. There's no way to hide the sidebars, so it results in a very cluttered screen that quickly results in information/sensory overload (which if you've never experienced, imagine literally every sensation you are able to experience being cranked to the max and your brain is trying to focus on literally every little individual thing as if it's the most important thing to focus on, I've likened it to a fight/flight response in the past with how suddenly things go from manageable to "I want to rip my own bloody throat out because at least then I'd only be focused on that" bad). The "compact" view actually just makes it worse because it crams even more stuff into the same space without getting rid of the sidebars, so it ends up making it even worse. The color scheme is just...off. I can't place my finger on exactly why, but even that is enough to set me on edge. I honestly don't really think there's any way to actually fix the new new reddit in this regard, it's aspects about it's very design that just don't work. All you have to do is leave new.reddit alone, let the people who want to use it still use it. Like, I seriously won't be able to keep using reddit (at all, mobile or desktop) if I can't keep using the new.reddit UI, it legitimately hurts to access the website, and the admins have acted in a way that, like I said, just screams that they honestly just don't care about the users, or that they're assuming every single person that access the website is the exact same.
It's absolutely infuriating to be told "Hey, we changed this site you use all the time and made it worse in just about every way, it's actually painful for you to use it (and just so you know, that sensory overload means I can't do anything for an hour or two because the overload doesn't just "go away" when I look away from the website), oh and we don't want to hear any criticism or anything like that. Oh, and you love it, even if you're actively telling us you hate it." It's incredibly dismissive and insensitive to anyone with issues (Autism, ADHD, OCD, vision problems, etc).

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 29 '24
Thanks for getting back to me. And thanks for those examples. I am sharing those with the team in charge right now. I appreciate you taking the time to list those things out!

u/Lack-of-Luck Aug 29 '24
No problem, there's other things but those are some of the biggest ones for me. I'd highly recommend either going and responding to UI related comments like you did mine to get more examples, or better yet making a sticky post specifically for comments and issues regarding the UI change. I know I'm not the only one, and a lot of people with issues like mine won't necessarily speak up without prompting, and will just leave the site en masse.

You can remove things like recent using uBlock Origin extension and using block element when you right click. You can highlight what you want to remove. If you make a mistake or it doesn't work you need to open uBO extension settings go to my filter tab and erase the filter(s) from the large box apply changes and try again. It's kind of tricky but it does work. Bad thing is of using Chrome it appears Google might be dropping uBO so not sure how long that will work on Chrome. Should work on Firefox.

It's terrible on PC, incredible waste of space. Slow and constant fetch errors when trying to submit a post.
Errors when you try and upload vid clips and pictures.
Reading posts and replies has become a chore. it has become a PITA to do anything on Reddit.
To post anything I have to click on the T for some unknown reason a few times until it will post, it's stupid.
2
u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 30 '24
Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry that's happening. What is the error that you are getting when trying to upload videos and images?
2
u/E_E_Lightning Aug 30 '24
Red bar with Fetch quest error & it usually fails to upload some of them.
On two different PC's same errror, one running W7 & a new build running W11.
I also get another error message when trying to post a reply or making a post, Error message Unable to post unless I click on the T a few times until it posts.
Thanks for your reply.
2
u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 30 '24
Thanks for getting back to me! I am unfamiliar with that error. If it's possible for you to get a screenshot, that would be great. But no worries if you can't.
Not sure what's going on with needing to click multiple times to post. I'll bring that up and see what I can find out.
THANK YOU

u/E_E_Lightning Aug 30 '24
There is no option in the reply box to add pictures.
I get a red error message Unable to create comment unless I click on the T bottom left a couple of times until it accepts the post/reply.

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 30 '24
Maybe you could host it somewhere else, like Imgur, and then provide the link?
2
u/E_E_Lightning Aug 30 '24
I private messaged you a link for the unable to create post error, will do the same for the other error when I can upload vid or pictures again.

Still getting the same problems & lots of errors.
When uploading a set of pitures some of them fail to upload, happens quite often.
Thankfully I have found a way to use the previous version & guess what no errors.
Thanks for your time.

Let me help you with constructive feedback about forcing the new UI.
IT SUCKS. And I can't believe all admins of the site are fully turning their two eyes blind to the insurmountable mountain of criticism, pushback, and overall problems the community at large has been expressing ever since.
The answer should not be "Oh well, we're looking at all of these issues, reporting them to the correct teams and trying to fix them". That is something you say in a Beta build, before any kind of massive release/push. Have a stable alternative before erasing access to the main way people have been using Reddit for quite a while (I don't believe Old.Reddit still is the 1st in usage)
Also, hearing to your user base should not be said lightly. I have yet to see a stern defender of the new UI that is not an admin, a mod of some kind or else. No "foot soldier" average user defends it. it's unanimosly hated. If you really listen, ears should perk up, and start to wonder if this was a good move in the first place.
Furthermore, I have no idea why New.Reddit is being unsupported, But Old.Reddit still goes strong. If you wanted some kind of change, shouldn't be the other way? If you are Windows, and coming up with Windows 11, Why get rid of Windows 10, if you could phase out Windows 7? Get rid of the oldest tech first, not just one below it.
On another note, Why does it need to be "Black or White"? Is it really difficult to give the user the choice for one UI or the other? Do you really need to make that choice for them? Make it an optional toggle we can use.
Design team should really understand that Desktop and Mobile experiences are not the same. This new UI "works" for Mobile. Absolutely not for Desktop.
A while back with the API changes, there was an actual exodus, or the threat of an exodus of users to get Off the site/platform. Im confident to say this has the potential to be worse than that.
Listen to your User Base.

I made a standalone post earlier this week, but did not get any answers from an admin. Since you are replying to comments in this post, I thought I would ask you here.
Is there any actual reason (technical or otherwise) that access to the 2nd generation UI (new.reddit.com) cannot be maintained along with the 1st generation UI (old.reddit.com)? The stickied post only mentions this change allowing for improvements and new features to be added to Reddit. However, is it really that difficult to keep the 2nd generation UI up, even with the understanding that (like with the 1st generation UI, it will not be developed or maintained, and there may be bugs)? There is a sizable percentage of the user base (including myself) that prefers the 2nd generation UI.
It is perfectly reasonable to have the default be the newest UI, but unless it is impractical for a reason that I do not know about (and hopefully you can explain to me and the rest of us), there should be an option for users passionate about it to use the 2nd generation UI. It can be an option in one's profile (as with Old Reddit), or it can be just having to manually type in "new.reddit.com". I know that there have been a lot of complaints about this, but I am asking a constructive question that you as an admin will hopefully have the answer to.
If there is not an answer that makes sense, I urge you and your fellow admins to consider that Reddit continuing to be popular and drawing the traffic it does depends on retaining your user base. If users are alienated because their experience on Reddit becomes undesirable, you will drive them away.
Of course, if I'm missing something, I'm all ears. Maybe there's something I don't know. But on the surface, I'm just not understanding this.
Since this has already gotten long, I'm going to detail the issues I'm having with this newest UI in a separate comment.
1
u/skibik1964 Aug 29 '24
If you want to continue the last version temporarily until it is completely removed try this.
Use new.reddit.com/explore actually change your bookmark address to reflect it. Once you click the bookmark it will open the last version but the feed won't load, DO NOT hit refresh, if you want the feed loaded tap either new or hot and it will load. I just click on one of my subreddits. Not sure how long it will work but it will likely be short term.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to write this out! Unfortunately, I don't have an answer as to why the decisions were made. I'm sorry! I really wish I had a better answer or an actual answer for you.
I don't know if this will mean anything, but feedback is being read and evaluated. And bugs are definitely something that we want to get addressed as well as overall functionality. I am passing along issues that people are having to the correct team(s), so I'm looking forward to your next comment!

u/ANewBeginningNow Aug 29 '24
Thanks for your reply. So if you, as an admin, were not involved in making the decisions, who was involved? I'm assuming your fellow admin CorrectScale was not involved either.

Opus is like a CM for a live service game, he's probably not an engineer [at reddit]. He's probably just support staff, but at most he might be a team lead or something like that.

I have a major problem with this newest UI being rolled out without all of the features operational, and with bugs. I also (not piling on, but constructive criticism) find it galling that the 2nd generation UI (new.reddit.com) would be disabled for most users before the newest UI is fully developed and tested by millions of users. The 2nd generation UI should be maintained as an option, at an absolute minimum, until everything is fully operational in the newest UI and has been extensively tested by the user base, with all bugs being worked out.
Here are the issues I'm currently having with the newest UI:
- Literally half the time, new pages do not load on the first click. There is a red line at the top (some kind of progress line) that moves to the right, and then stops. It takes another click to load the page.
- The "filter by flair" feature is nowhere to be found.
- In some subreddits I frequent, the text in post titles can be different colors depending on the flair or post format, e.g. blue for posts by men, and pink for posts by women in the 2nd generation UI. I'm seeing only black text in this newest UI for all posts.
- When trying to send a chat request directly from a user's profile, or while hovering on their username and clicking "Start Chat", a new, full screen chat page comes up in a new tab. In the 2nd generation UI, it was able to be done within the smaller chat window in the lower right corner of the screen.
- The text size is simply too small for extended reading. The text size in both the 1st and 2nd generation UIs is a bit larger than in this newest UI, and it is harder on the eyes. The font, too, is easier on the eyes than in this newest UI, but simply making the text size comparable to what it is in the 1st and 2nd generation UIs (as well as many other websites) would help.
I mainly use a desktop Windows computer, for context.

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 30 '24
Morning! Just wanted to let you know that I heard back from the team in charge of chat and having it open in a completely different tab/window was a new one! Thank you for bringing it up! A ticket has been filed and a fix will hopefully go out next week.
1
u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 29 '24
Hey! Thank you so much for this! This is awesome!
That doesn't sound great. Are you using any extensions or ad blockers? Does it happen if you use the site from an incognito or private browsing window? What browser are you using?/
For filtering by flair, can you try going to a post with the flair that you're looking for and then clicking on the flair from the post? It should bring up all the posts with that flair.
This one I haven't heard yet, though I did see one about it being hard to tell if a post has been read or not. I'm not sure what's up here, but I'll ask around.
I'm checking on this and will follow up!
I have shared your feedback about the text size with the correct team.
Thank you again for taking the time to write all of this out! It's appreciated!

u/ANewBeginningNow Aug 29 '24 edited Aug 29 '24
I'm using Google Chrome. It happens in either a regular window or an incognito window.
I tried clicking on the flair from the post, and it does then filter it by that flair. Two problems with that: 1) Many times, I have to scroll far down to find a post with the flair I want (for instance, a post from a woman when most posts in the subreddit are by men), and 2) It's a tiny flair at the bottom of a post rather than an easy option on the right of the screen, as it is in the 2nd generation UI.
Something else I just noticed, which bothers me (even if it may seem like nitpicking): To change various sort options (such as "Hot" vs. "New"), I now have to use a drop down box, requiring two clicks to change that setting. In the 2nd generation UI, the buttons were all listed at the top, making it take just one click.

You don't have to keep asking us for feedback that doesn't ever get acted on, you can just say that Reddit is only interested in what Reddit wants and has no interest in making the platform palatable to users. You've asked countless times for feedback and the most reddit has been able to muster (aside from creating a "feedback form" that immediately and promptly got ignored) is making posts with media slightly more user friendly. We don't even have to talk about all of the missing features (you shouldn't need us to tell you about them), we can just talk about how absolutely broken the site is. Pages don't load, the double sidebar thing is hideous and makes the whole page less readable, the color scheme is horrible. All of these are things that you have been aware of and have been getting reported endlessly since you started testing the new UI, let alone since it was forced on us. As I keep saying, if the new UI was truly an upgrade or a better version of the platform in any way, this sort of feedback wouldn't be happening, but it is, and you've elected to largely ignore it until now when it became extremely publicly obvious that nobody liked the design, something we all knew but reddit tried to shove under the rug for a s long as possible.
If the reality of the situation was any different, you wouldn't have forced everyone to the new UI, there is no technical benefit to this other than increasing the amount of unpaid QA engineers you have testing the platform and increasing usage statistics to make it look like this wasn't a massive failure. The fact that you have to leave old-new reddit up for moderators is the biggest example of the incompetence involved in this update to the platform.

I don't use the app, only Old Redddit on desktop. It's weird as one chat doesn't work, but I invited the exact same people to a new group chat and it does work.

One question - in the case of our good friend jgoja and his recent account suspension, will he still receive the #1 helper award? What happens next? More importantly, is there a level of trust when it comes to suspensions? If one user was popular, well liked and in good standing with the admins, could this boost their account recovery? Are disrespectful or rude users given the benefit of the doubt?
I understand if some of these questions cannot be answered, though I would still love to know more :D

I can't comment on individual accounts. But Reddit does have an appeals process for actions taken against accounts that all users can initiate.

Does it just happen on that post? If so, that post was made three years ago and it's likely been archived. Reddit archives all content after six months. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to turn off archiving for profiles like there is for subreddits. Sorry!

Thank you for the report.
Well, in a desire to keep this constructive, I am going to ignore the elephant in the room. We had some bumps and hiccups this week, but they were handled or acknowledged as an issue right away so another thanks to the teams. While the app update not happening last week like originally said is frustrating, I would rather have it right and ready instead of fast. I have to give that team credit for not releasing it when it was not ready. I appreciate that change in policy/behavior.
In old business. Is there any update you can provide on the password reset issue with it not working?
We are still seeing reports of the support tickets not being answered. This post here has had their account disabled and suspended after a hacking incident for 4 months without a response.
Issue. Reddit's Filters and the admin bots. Something is seriously messed up with them. On Saturday Morning, The admin bot shadow banned 2 accounts for replying thank you for my help in r/NewToReddit .
Issues: on the mobile web platform you cannot directly upload videos even though it says it is an option. Even if the subreddit allows them. Same happens when you change it to select desktop website on the mobile browser. Is this intentional or is it a bug with the UI? When you try, there is no preview of a video and if you hit post you get the message, “There was an error, please try again later.”
Issue: On mobile web platform, when I hit create post, it looks like it is opening a new screen, then opens a posting window on the app. For helping I sometimes need to post on the mobile web. The only workaround I have found for this is to hit create post, close the posting window it takes me to on the app. Go back to mobile web again and hit create post again. Close the posting window on the app again and go back to the mobile web. Then hit the back button on the browser and it will give me a posting window on the mobile web.
Issues. I don’t know if this is a bug, issue, or working as intended, but we have seen a pretty large number of reports of users having new account after new account get banned for spam or inauthentic content. From what I have been able to gather, they are not doing anything but using and trying to build their new account. Some are getting banned after as few as 3 posts/comments, others have reported responding to DMs and getting banned.
In a helping capacity we advise to appeal the bans instead of making new accounts, but they often do not get any reply on appeals. Even after weeks.
In a preventative measure, typically I suggest posting very slow and generally only as needed for the first 2 days, and then slow until 7 days old. Commenting slow for first 2 days. My full recommendation guide is this post.
Is there something else we can suggest to avoid it, avoid triggering it , or to do after to get their accounts back. I don't even know if my suggestions do any good at all. They do seem to help.
Thank you for reading my ramblings.

Hi! Just wanted to give a little update on some things that have been brought up in this post.
Chats opening in a separate tab is not intentional. A ticket has been filed and this is being worked on.
We were able to reproduce blurry/misshapen images on the site on an iPad with iOS 16.2. Seems like it happens with an older OS, so updating might help.
The community sort option not sticking is a bug. It's been filed and is actively being worked on.
Being able to see users that you follow has not made it over to the UI just yet. In the meantime, https://old.reddit.com/subreddits/ will allow you to see the users you follow.
Not being able to directly upload videos even though it says it is an option on mobile web is an issue that we are aware of and is being worked on.
For the password reset errors on non-banned accounts, something has been identified and they're going to change it next week and see if that helps.

Thank you for your "ramblings"! I appreciate them and I appreciate your understanding.
For the specific password reset issue that you mentioned, if you know the name of the account they're having trouble with, could you PM it to me so I can see what's going on there? I don't have any additional updates, but I can follow up on that instance and see what's going on.
I was not aware of the video issue on mweb. But I just tried it out and that is happening. I'm going to track down that team see what's up with that.
I'm having a hard time reproducing the other posting issue on mobile that you mentioned. Does it happen all the time for you?
Not sure if new users getting banned for spam or inauthentic content is a bug/issue. I did flag something similar to the team in charge of that earlier today and they said that there are pushing out a change that will reduce false positives. That should be happening soon-ish, so hopefully, that will cause those reports to decrease if that was the issue at hand. So no additional suggestions until we see what that does. If you want to PM me some usernames that experienced that, I can look further into it.
Do you know what form they're using to appeal their bans? I'd like to make sure that they're going to where they're supposed to be going. And thank you for the recommendation guide! That's super helpful!

I don't know it and it was not mentioned in any of their help or bug reports, but I have asked for it and will send it on when I get it.
I'm having a hard time reproducing the other posting issue on mobile that you mentioned. Does it happen all the time for you?
Yes it does. It has been happening for a little while anyway but trying to post videos reminded me of it. On two separate occasions, including just now, I have cleared all the website data from safari but it keeps happening. The issue with reproducing may be version. I have Safari 15.8 because of the age of my phone.
Not sure if new users getting banned for spam or inauthentic content is a bug/issue. If you want to PM me some usernames that experienced that, I can look further into it.
Good news. It sounds like the issue happening. I will try to get some of the names together and send them to you.
Do you know what form they're using to appeal their bans? I'd like to make sure that they're going to where they're supposed to be going.
They are using https://www.reddit.com/appeals

Let's try having them use this one for appeals and see if that helps.

Which would you prefer r/newtoreddit sends users to?
We see a lot of shadowbanned users and if there's anything we can do to help in regard to helping you reduce false positives please let us know.
I feel there has been an increase and now several users posting worried about being shadowbanned and asking how to avoid it.

Hi! Thanks for checking in! Let's use this one and see how that goes.
There is a change going out that should reduce the number of false positives that cause new users to have their account banned in error. I'm hoping that helps this a bit!

Haha wow. When you think that the new design can't get worse, but they still somehow manage it.

Hi! I'm sorry that's happening. Is this just on your iPad? Do you know what version your OS is?

u/Internal_Eye620 Aug 30 '24
A little update, it looks ok on ipad pro 2022 11" ios 17.5. I will update one of my iPads to the last ios version and report back if it fix anything

I have 2 ipad pro. Ipad pro 2022 12.9 ios 16.3 and ipad pro 2018 12.9 with ios 17. Both have exact the same issues.
Btw, the first 3 pictures in the feed, after refreshing the page, look ok. Others misshaped and blurry

Ok, i updated ios on my ipad pro 2018 12.9 to the last ios version and it fixed the issue for me.
And switched web version to mobile instead of desktop on ipad pro 2022 12.9 16.4 and it works fine too.

I know you are struggling for money but maybe hire a UI professional.
Try to snatch someone that hasn't graduated so you pay them less. But whatever you do, get a UI professional. You can find cheap ones in eastern asia, they work for burger kings and do a better job than you.
The web interface sucks. It needs to go. All the code needs to go. You suck at programming. You code worse than Elon Musk does it at Twitter.
Maybe put your code in ollama and it'll probably do a better job than you.
With love, someone that actually codes.

Ugh! So close to top three xD
Thanks for the update. Are these the final scores for this month? Will PurplePassiflor automatically recieve the award at the end of the month or do we still a tad bit of time?

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 29 '24
I'm not sure who our top three for the month will be since the month isn't over quite yet! But for the monthly trophies, it's a cumulative total, not just the last week.
And thank you for the help!

Another thing I have noticed is the the topic shows the number of comments it has received but when you open it not all comments are there, let say it shows 4 comments, you open it and there is actually only one or two and no matter how you sort with the subreddit there are no other comments. I noticed this when I have viewed a topic in a subreddit earlier yesterday and it had one or two comments, I returned later in the day and it now show one or two more comments on the counter but when opening the topic it is the same two previous comments. Before it showed if a comment was deleted is that not the case now and if someone deletes their comment it doesn't change to topic comment counter to reflect that.
Also, the new UI on a desktop it is very hard to tell if a topic has been read. The change in the title color is so minute now that even two topics next to each other, one had been read the other not, and they almost look like they are both unread. Even though I can remember most of what I read it is still nice to have a better distinction between read and unread topics, my memory is good but sometimes not that good. It also makes it easier to find the read topics to see if there have been added comments, provided the counter is correct, since the last time I viewed it.

If a comment gets caught in the spam filter, is removed by the automod or moderators or deleted by the user, it will still count toward the total number of comments, but it won't be visible. If you feel that there are comments missing, you can contact the mods of the sub that you posted in and they can take a look for you. Their contact information can be found on the sidebar of the sub at the "message the moderators" link or the little envelope just above the list of moderators.
That is good feedback about the change in color if an item has been read. I'm noticing that myself right now, so I'm not sure if that's intentional.

Thank you! Usually if a mod, automod or even person posting it deletes it before it showed up in the topic as deleted by... but I never paid attention to the counter before until yesterday. I had read a topic and later two topics showed one or two comments but opening the topic there were none, not even comment deleted by... Could be the spam thing you mentioned as I didn't know Reddit had it. Now it has just the comments that were there. I will maybe try messaging the moderator of the sub next time I notice it.
The greying is there just not as prominent on desktop as the previous version, would be nice if it was more visual. It had been mentioned yesterday by someone else and I had also put it r/bugs but no clue it anyone at Reddit sees it there.

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 29 '24
r/bugs is a great place to post things like that! It's an admin sub and we are in there! Thank you!

I have reported that even though I have preferences set to sort topics by NEW rather than HOT this new version ignores it and opens HOT as default. See my other comment here. I have reported it I think three times in six or eight months and have no feedback at all. Luckily I have been able to use new.reddit.com since the beginning of the year when I was first forced to use the new UI. It would be nice if at least some of the bugs I have seen reported in the last 2 days have some kind of acknowledgement.

u/TheOpusCroakus admin Aug 29 '24
Are you reporting these in r/bugs? That's a great place to surface these sorts of issues! I was just able to reproduce the sorting issue, so I have shared that with the team just now and will follow up on it! Thank you!
2
u/skibik1964 Aug 29 '24
Yes, I have. Actually the sort thing 3 or 4 times at the beginning of the year but 2 or 3 were removed by automoderator or another moderator, can't remember the reason but remember having to redo it a few times and I think one finally stuck but I left the sub then after finding the work around new.reddit and used it. I reported it again yesterday along with separate post for other two issues I reported here in both comments. There has been no replies to those that they are read by anyone other than other users. You're actually the first Admin to respond and I appreciate at least someone has passed it on. I thank you for that
I get a lot of bugs are reported since I rejoined r/bugs yesterday so hard to fix them all but at least fix the common ones before it was forced on us.
It is sad that such a well like version is just removed and forced to use a new version that is full of bugs yet you can still use an old version that looks like it was developed by a kid back in the 90's.

"About a month ago, we made a post here about new.reddit.com no longer being supported"
How about making this “new” ugly, poorly laid out and unmanageable UI version usable as quickly as possible? Is it a lack of developers or is it more down to the management?!!!

How can I find the list of users I follow on desktop? The list has just disappeared from the panel on the left side, and I don't see where I can find a list under my user profile.
