Game Feedback Bring back POE2 movement skills please

I can't do this slow crap anymore i'm lvl 80 and i'm nearly as fast as i was at lvl 10, yet the ennemies are running like Usain Bolt on crack. Dodge is useful in the beginning of the game but is a complete useless feature in late game

Information (POE 2) Trial 4th Ascendancy boss100% win rate

For some reason unlike the merchants other boons, "cannot be damaged until next room is cleared" is available to be used on every boss fight in the Trial if your able to find a merchant before the boss room.

+Merchant offers will greatly increase the odds of getting this.

Not sure if this is common knowledge but I haven't seen it posted yet!

Game Feedback Complaints aside, the multiplayer in PoE 2 during the campaign has been the best in any aRPG I've played so far.

Compared to PoE 1's endless dying and checkpoint respawning, there is actual challenge and teamwork required. The revival mechanic means surviving players must coordinate when to revive a dead player, since revival time quickens when more people revive. There are a few bugs to work out, such as parties bring filled at 5 players instead of 6, but overall, I've enjoyed playing through campaign over maps because multiplayer exists.

The fact that I've created over 15 characters just to experience leveling through acts is a testament to that.

“Project Circle” and all of Empy’s stupid expensive builds are what make this game so unique. The fact that you can make just about anything, no matter how hilariously pointless it is.

Game Feedback PoE2 is, currently, not fun.

First off I want to say I really enjoy PoE2 when it is working normally. I am not a PoE vet but I have countless hours across Diablo 2, 3, and 4, and I have played many other ARPGs so while my specific critiques are a bit more broad than someone who has 4000 hrs in PoE1.

The game mostly doesn't work normally though, and that is a huge issue. For one, performance on PS5 is literally unplayable sometimes. I know I'll lose some of you here because console but honestly if you're going to cull the player character to keep frame rate over 20 then just don't even offer it for sale.

That's right, especially in zones such as the sun room on a character such as infernalist nothing but the actual zone geometry displays and all the mobs/effects/minions/player are flickering in and out. It doesn't matter what settings you use either.

On top of the bad performance there are a myriad of issues with skills and abilities. Half the time my curse flat out doesn't cast. Half the time unearth is directly on a corpse but no minion forms. I'm not even being facetious, these skills just do not work properly.

The skill tree also is extremely unfun and lack lustre. When I inspect a skill node for ignition the skills I have that ignite do not appear as affected by it, making me question if it even works too. Way too many flat out bad nodes exist such that builds become very narrow very quickly.

On-level content such as trials are also an absolute mess. The reward vs effort is way off balance and every trial I have completed has been a 2nd or 3rd try due to some inane issue. For instance the timed rooms are extremely unfun on console since you can't select the pillar if an enemy is ANYWHERE ON YOUR SCREEN. WTF?!

I used to rage at and ragequit games when I was younger but have figured out how to reel it in... Oh boy not with PoE2. Each of those failed trials runs don't have me getting more resolve and trying again, I just turn it off and be super pissed. This is not a good gaming experience.

It's so bad that when a non-GGG fault ruined my latest trials run(Internet died right before accepting my ascension points, just as I pressed the accept button) and I just fucking lost it.

I desperately want this game to be fun. It seems fun. The moments between the BS are fun... But they are just moments.

On top of this I'm only level 48. I haven't even gotten to the 'painful' part everyone else is complaining about. Here's hoping that the direction the game heads in through spring is a positive one.

Cautionary Tale Account got hacked and items stolen despite GGG locking the account.

Upvotes

I logged in this morning and realized that all of my gear was gone. I didn't have any gear that was Mirror worthy, but I easily had 50-80div worth of gear. The divines in my stash, multiple items in my stash that I had crafted that I had listed for sale were also gone (several of which I've found on trade being sold). I went to send support an email and saw that GGG had sent me an email around 2am CST stating that someone had tried to access my account and they provided me with a code to input stating that my account had been locked and that I would need this code to be able to log in to the game again.

I play primarily through steam and not the standalone client, so I don't know if the Standalone is the only client that requires the code, but I was not prompted to input this code. I would also like to note that the password for my email, and the password for my PoE account are different and I did not have a security alert from Google about any other logins to my email, so I find it unlikely that whoever this was also had access to my email and was able to get this code.

I did have a few VERY specific items for sale in my stash, and I have found several of them listed on trade already. While I can't prove that the current owner of these items is the one that initially took them from me, it's possible. I've emailed support the screenshots of the items listed, and I'm hoping that because the account was not actually locked as their email said, that I might be able to get my account rolled back.

How on earth is GGG going to send an email stating my account has been locked for security reasons, and then those security measures not even work at all? Super bummed out right now as I just hit 92 last night and finally got my Spark and OOS to 20 and was going to start pushing some harder end game stuff. #feelsbadman

I'd also like to note that I've changed (as of now) my steam password, and my PoE password, and I've turned on 2FA (which I didn't know the standalone had until now). I hope that whoever took my stuff steps on a lego, has an itch they can't scratch, and sneezes so hard they shit themselves.

Game Feedback My personal biggest issues and concerns with PoE2(Aside from the balance and tuning).

I barely feel any difference in playstyle from when I was level 30 to level 95. In PoE1, your character evolves much, much more over the course of the gearing and endgame journey. PoE2 is way too limiting in EA, with a boring passive tree and I hope it's all just a placeholder.

Jonathan trying to make the game more "intuitive" ended up making PoE2 have Diablo 4 levels of depth, a game I can barely play for a week once a year because its too limiting and too boring.

Argument is obviously that it's EA with classes and more than half the skill gems and support gems missing. But to that I ask, why didn't GGG just start EA with actual interesting and powerful support gems and to tease the players with what other cool shit they plan to add later? To my knowledge only real cool and crazy gems were trigger gems and look what GGG did to them. Why do so many of supports basically feel like no-brainers for whatever you're trying to do which barely evolve your gameplay.

Diverting power from the passive tree and putting too much of it on to the gear deludes the passive tree into basically the paragon board from D4. Where so much of the base power is put on gear and the passive tree is a multiplier. I always viewed PoE as a pseudo puzzle and problem solving game but when I know 95% of my puzzle pieces come from either buying them from players or getting lucky, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Now yes, this is a different game as Jonathan wants us to believe and If I don't like PoE2, I still have PoE1. Well there's another issue. The cynic in me honestly doesn't have much faith in GGG to give equal attention and work to PoE1 and 2. And seeing the success of PoE2, part of me thinks in a years time PoE1 will just go into maintenance mode with repeats of leagues similar to what has already begun. And yes, that was mainly to make sure PoE2 gets launched into EA but who knows, it might also be the start of a slippery slope.

Sorry for the ramblings but I just wanted to get it off my chest. Enjoy your holidays.

Game Feedback (POE 2) The current trading system in POE 2 sucks as its based on an ancient design principle, and could do with a much needed rethink.

The trading system in POE2 is deeply flawed, and I think it could do with a small rework. Now don't get me wrong, I am aware of what they have been aiming for with the current system. For those unaware, currently system is designed to give item interactions more “substance,” to make trading feel more like an "actual" experience instead of just a quick transaction of a listed and forgotten item. In theory, this works as it encourages real player interaction and forces us to engage with others directly, like visiting their hideouts and getting a glimpse of their MTX collection. This trade experience has the flow on effect of getting players to experience other players MTX in-game; creating player desire for those effects to encourage MTX purchases.

That said, while I get these ancient design principles, I think there’s a simpler, more effective way to improve it for everyone. Here’s my idea: Why not streamline the process while keeping that “substance” feeling intact?

Imagine a system where players could directly visit a seller’s hideout or shop, where they could check out the seller’s MTX, experience their hideout, and then complete the transaction right there from the sellers avatar, thus eliminating the need for the seller to be present inside the hideout when selling the item. In this case, the seller’s avatar could even be decked out in their best MTX, giving the buyer a full experience of the intended MTX viewing experience.

Similarly, the seller can then head to the avatar and collect the currency made off the sold item similar, with the buyers avatar having similar visual effects to how Alva works in poe2.

Honestly, this kind of system would add substance without the current frustration of having to leave maps, get ghosted, or go through a lot of convoluted trade steps with a lot of waiting before being able to purchase something instead of just being able to purchase a listed item directly. Sure, it could be improved further, but I’m ready for anything that makes trading feel less like a chore.

On a separate note, if the current trade system has been kept the way it is primarily for MTX viewing, then I believe there could be many different and better ways to illustrate those MTX effects, which IMO is simply not being done enough in this game compared to other games like league which did add more exposure to MTX in the last few years and ease in purchasing, although obviously they are different games. For POE2, if players are able to test out the MTX available directly from character selection, then won't it provide more exposure on those MTX to everyone of those millions of players logging in every day?

Thoughts?

TL;DR: Good item search engine but forced bartering instead of direct purchase. Needs separation of MTX exposure away from just trade. Implementation of a shop, that can be visitable to buy items. Improved method of retaining 'substance' design principle where buyer can visit a sellers hideout, interact and purchase from buyers avatar. Then the seller can collect a sales currency from the buyers avatar waiting for them in the sellers shop once they return from mapping etc. Makes it a better experience for buyers and sellers with improve MTX exposure.

Came in today. The Netherlands (EU), ordered the day after the POE2 reveal stream. Had to pay import costs (21,94 euro).

Quality of the prints isn't the greatest, the print material feels a bit cheap and the quality is a tad blurry.

However the garments themselves are pretty awesome. The textiles feel great, the hoodie is nice and thick and feels great and the shirt quality is great as well. Size is a 2XL and they fit great (which I'm grateful for as I'm currently losing a lot of weight, so the reaffirming is nice 😂).

The hoodie also does that Australia / NZ thing (atleast I think it's a down under thing) where the zipper is on the right side of the tracks and the little thing you put into the zipper is on the left (whereas normally this is the other way around, zipper on the left, little thing on the right). No big deal, just something that might take some getting used to. I have another zip up from Mighty Car Mods that does the same thing.

They're currently in the wash, we'll see how the prints hold up, but I'm not holding out much hope tbh.

Overall still happy with them though, I've definitely had much worse mech.

Game Feedback (POE 1) Could WASD make its way into POE1?

Personally I am a mouse enjoyer for movement, but a friend of mine who also has been playing POE for many years just said to me "I don't know if I can go back to POE1 simply because WASD is missing."

He clearly is a WASD enjoyer and doesn't think he will play the next POE1 league simply because WASD does not exist in POE1. Does anyone else feel this way? Would you want to see WASD added to POE1 or keep it mouse only?

Game Feedback (POE 2) Respecting player time in games and why "gotcha" mechanics kill the fun

Upvotes

I have been playing EA since the 6th, currently at ~260hrs. I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes games enjoyable long-term, and honestly, one of the biggest factors is whether or not the game respects my time.

It’s not just about avoiding grind or making things faster, it’s about the trust that when I invest hours into building my character, optimizing my defenses, and fine-tuning my playstyle, that effort will actually mean something. When a game introduces unavoidable, “gotcha” one-shot mechanics that completely ignore all of that investment, it doesn’t feel challenging. It feels pointless.

No matter how much time you spend building your defenses, rolling your gear, and preparing your character, the game seems designed to invalidate it all in a heartbeat. A random mechanic can just say, “Nope, doesn’t matter, you’re dead now.” And sure, difficulty is part of the appeal, (hard games can be amazing!). But there’s a line between “challenging” and “arbitrary punishment.” When I feel like every moment is spent anxiously hyper-analyzing every twitch of every enemy because any slip-up can one-shot me, the fun evaporates. Not to mention that there is ZERO information about what killed you, you have to record it and then go back and analyze every frame and guess.

Games need ebb and flow. Tension and release. When everything is always dialed to 11, it stops being exciting and just becomes exhausting. At some point, it starts to feel like the developers are actively trying to make me not enjoy myself. I shouldn’t feel like my reward for grinding, farming, and strategizing is a dick punch the moment I stop paying perfect attention for two seconds. I love difficult games, but I don’t want to feel like the game is sitting there smirking, waiting for me to make a mistake so it can dunk on me.

And here’s the thing—it kills my motivation to keep playing. I don’t want every second of gameplay to feel like a high-stakes exam. Sometimes, I just want to chill and enjoy the fruits of my labor. If the only way to “relax” in the game is to take a max-level character back into low-tier content, what’s even the point? It feels like all the joy has been replaced with a constant, gnawing dread.

Respecting player time isn’t just about being “nice”. It’s about creating an experience that feels worth it. I should feel proud of my investment, not resentful of it. If a game doesn’t respect the time I’ve poured into it, why should I keep pouring more in?

Discussion Uncomfortable truth: the (most likely) upcoming MF nerf will not make it easier for you to afford high end gear.

1.5k Upvotes

There are tons of people asking for MF nerfs, or a change of the economy in general, which is fine. But often it gets justified with many people being priced out of high value items, and expecting this to change, but it won't.

Prices of high end gear and chase items are, and always were, based around the performance of top tier blasters. The overall amount of raw drops doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter if high end players make 300ex per hour and you 30, or if they make 30 and you 3. The relation stay the same, and so will the relative prices.

So if you expect for prices to get better, temper your expectations.

That being said, they should absolutely find a better balance where MF and tablet stacking isn't mandatory to get to a satisfying level of currency drops.

PoE2 PoE or PoE 2 for beginner?

Hello, I installed PoE and diablo 4 for the first time playing ARPG, and diablo felt so easy I didn't like it.

So now I played a bit of PoE and I enjoyed it, even tho it's a bit confusing sometimes and harder.

But, should I buy PoE 2 or keep playing PoE? Which is more fun or what do you guys recommend? (I have MMORPG exp only)

I'm not sure how it happened. Its legs died during a hoi pop and the torso was left behind. I think it probably has something to do with corpse destruction.

Question | Answered POE 2 Trading "OR" operator

Hey guys, I started to play POE2 recently and got to the endgame.
I've been learning to use the trading website to get a bow that shoots multiple arrows. The website tells me that I can find a bow with this Explicit bonus, the Implicit bonus, and the Enchanted bonus.
I wanted to use the OR operator to find any bow with this bonus, whether Implicit, Explicit, or Enchanted. Do you know how I can do that?

Game Feedback Chronomancer 30% recoup should apply to whatever resource was damaged, instead of just life.

Also, Apex of the Moment should have a small burst of reduced action speed when it is first applied to an enemy.

A third and final critique of Chronomancer is that Time Freeze duration/cooldown should be party-wide, unmodifiable, and reduced to ~2s duration and ~12-20s cooldown.

I think with these changes Chronomancer would be an extremely fun, flexible, and engaging defensive ascendancy that shines in both party and solo play, with a low maintenance cost for GGG as the game develops.
