General Question/Discussion Strange irritation on hips area NSFW Spoiler
Hello, I’ve had this strange irritations on my hips area for a month now and they don’t seem to go away. I’ve applied some different ointments, but the affected area still seems the same as before, maybe some improvements in the texture (the skin before was granular, now it’s just smooth). I’ve had mononucleosis this summer, it can be a cause of that? Or it’s just some skin irritation that doesn’t seem to go away. I want to mention that they don’t seem itchy, but they are spreading. Btw in the second picture the brown spots are just from my birthmark. Please help.

Is this where the top of your pants rubs on your skin?

Yes, but I wear the same pants as always and didn’t have any problem in the past. I thought so too that the skin irritation can be caused by my pants or boxers.

Perhaps try some different pants that might be softer or not rub in the same place.

I think I will do that. Thank you for all the info!

It could also be your laundry detergent. I get periodic sensitivity to different detergents with fragrances and parabens. Try a free and clear detergent and see if that helps!

Will do, I will buy one without fragrances or parabens. Thank you for replying!

Could be eczema. I periodically get flare ups on my hips even if I’ve clearly had friction in that area before the flare up

Oh I see. Any cream that you recommend for this?

If you can get hydrocortisone over the counter try that but if it doesn’t clear up after a little while see a doctor as overusing or misusing steroids can have side effects
