General Question/Discussion Overall question about how sepsis works NSFW

I’m 20 male and I’m honestly just curious if I had a tooth abscess and let’s say it were to burst and become sepsis is it possible for sepsis to cause a cough or is that not possible if it’s not a chest infection in itself

If you have a cough, it’s not bc of sepsis. Let’s just say that. Sepsis is a whole body infection. It occurs when there is an infection in the body that isn’t adequately treated, or somehow gets out of control, and takes over the whole body. If you’re septic, you are very sick and likely lying down somewhere feeling pretty awful. You’re not running around with a cough.

But to answer your original question, the stuff from the tooth wouldn’t cause a sore throat. It would take some time between abscess rupture and full blown sepsis to settle in. How much time I don’t know, but I would think at least half an hour at least?
