This races has swayed me to think that they are less British bias and more, incredibly incompetent. But I still think they love giving certain drivers penalties that they usually go unpenalized for others.

In a rare moment where I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Croft (ugh), I do think the way the safety car was handled for the wing mirror debris was bullshit. Race Control should’ve thrown a VSC or safety car well before Bottas smashed the mirror, and several drivers got pointlessly screwed over because of it. Total clown show from the FIA today.

They are quite anti penalty anyway. Maybe you are like this when you used to be a driver. Giving a lot of people quite a lot of slack, when they really driving dangerous.
They also called the 10 seconds for overtaking off track harsh this season when FIA very clearly communicated that this will be the new norm.
At least they generally acknowledge that a penalty is valid but almost always argue it is too harsh this season. Today it sounded like they would have given a 5 second penalty to Lando for not slowing down under yellow.

u/businessbeans17 BWOAHHHHHHH 24d ago
British bias in the media still. Sky was huffing copium as hard as possible post race.

u/tswany11 BWOAHHHHHHH 24d ago
He was blue flagged/letting cars lap him. The engineer probably didn't tell him that there was a mirror there. If he didn't let traffic by there, he would have gotten a penalty so there really isn't much else he could have done in that situation.

Nah, the graphic on the bottom right corner doesn't correspond to pre-2018 graphics. I think it is 2018, given that Hamilton is leading comfortably, with a Ferrari behind him.

Ngl thought he was gonna get a 10 sec, wich is normally the case with disregarding yellow flags. But a 10 sec stop and go.. Damn...
Lewis I can understand though.. Safety car through the pitlane and. Than speeding creating rather dangerous situation, though still very harse

u/HellBlazer_NQ WHAT THE FUCK IS AN APPENDIX?!?!?!? 🩺🧑⚕️ 24d ago
That stop and go was basically (and they knew it at the time of awarding it) a 14 place grid penalty.
10
u/Chewingman BWOAHHHHHHH 24d ago
The 10s stop/go i thought was harsh at first. But after some reading that is the correct penalty for disregarding double yellow. Everyone who has disregarded it has gotten that penalty. It has just been such a long time that people have forgotten how big it really is
