If drivers are penalized for not following safety instruction, then the FIA should be penalized for whatever tf today was

He was blue flagged/letting cars lap him. The engineer probably didn't tell him that there was a mirror there. If he didn't let traffic by there, he would have gotten a penalty so there really isn't much else he could have done in that situation.
