So looking good for advice… have a key west boat that I replaced with all new cushions last year. My neighbor has two outdoor cats that are getting in my boat and clawing the cushions and it’s driving me up the wall. I have good relations with the neighbor but things are going to go south if this doesn’t stop. Do you all have any suggestions on how to keep the cats away from the boat?? Any deterrent?
I keep the boat covered with a sealskin cover but there is a 6in gap in the back when tightened. Also if it going to fish in the am, I’ll get the boat ready the night before. then since the cats suck, I’ll drape the cover back over the boat console in the evening only for the darn cats! I’m over it and the additional hassle for cats wandering the neighborhood.
Curious if you all have any suggestions.

I know financing a toy sucks but I've got a unique situation. Guy from work is willing to sell me his very low hour 2017 Xpress bass boat for 9000 dollars. Value of this boat is closer to 18000. I'll have the money to pay it off with my bonus that I'll get in March. Who will finance a used boat for me from a private seller.

Using my GI bill to take a marine service technician program at a local cc. I’ll have some left over ,and was wondering if there was another trade I could learn that would help further advancement in that career? Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc…

My grandpa gave me an old duranautic offshore-14 a few years ago. It’s an aluminum 14’ v-hull and there’s about nothing on the internet about these things. I’m curious of any opinions on if I can take this thing for some inshore fishing. I am a novice when it comes to boating as I only ever drive a Ranger bass boat and its typically in calm fresh water. I am confident in decent sized lakes that the Offshore-14 will be fine, but I would like to get into saltwater fishing as I’m moving to Florida. The motor on it is old but will likely have a 10-15hp motor on it after I fix the boat up. Appreciate any advice

Over time dust from the boat cover has kind of leeched into the leather. Does anybody have any experience cleaning it? We have tried a few things but no luck

Wheel hubs on tandem boat trailer. Lug nuts were rusted on, was changing the tire. Can I just replace the hubs, or will there be more involved?
I just bought the boat, so trying to go through everything. It’s a tandem trailer for a 25ft Mako.
Will be doing all the work myself.
Thanks

Most just have lifts but some have two fishing rod looking things that I assume keep tension no matter the tide change, what are they called?

I plan on using my new boat a little in the winter this year but mostly in the spring and summer. Would it be a good idea to service the outboard now before it freezes? Or wait till spring starts. I’m not sure what the previous owner did before selling it to me. As far as oil, gear oil, spark plugs, fuel filter and carb cleaning. It has a 15 hp 2005 4 stroke Yamaha.

Looking into purchasing a 17’ aluminum bass boat (~1800lbs). My jeep has a U-Haul hitch rated for 2000lb. I’m not worried about overall towing, although it’s pushing the limits, but more so worried about backing up and down a boat ramp under load. I’ve seen much less-capable vehicles launching boats, but would just like some insight on others experiences. Open to possible upgrades I can do to the jeep, to allow easier towing, because a new truck wasn’t in the budget. TIA

Hi I am really interested in purchasing the sea eagle 437 with the Honda outboard motor 5hp my question is how well would it perform in the bay? Mostly offshore stuff like 2-3 miles from shore I’ve watched videos of kayak cliff and other demos with the boat but any personal experience would be very appreciated thank you.

Howdy folks,
I mainly boat in East TN and I am looking for an app that would give me the proper adjustment level for Navionics. The TVA has an app that I used to use, but recently it seems the information I'm looking for isn't there.
Can you all recommend a great app to find this info? Maybe a tidal app, or fishing app of sorts? Again, I'm using Navionics already but it does not update automatically.

What I'm hoping for
Something that's small and easy to use
Something that could make the transition between an inlet and a calm bay / beach (wouldn't travel unless calm waters)
Something for fishing
At least 3 people could be on it, but ideally it could fit occasionally 4 people or perhaps even more
Is it crazy to hope for something around 3k-4k? Craigslist seems to have options for 3k
What 3-5 tips do you have for this?
Here's an option that seems viable? https://boston.craigslist.org/nos/boa/d/haverhill-1993-spectrum-dominator-bass/7805069863.html
