Welcome to the Family! Today I finally joined the PSVR2 family thanks to boxing day! What games do you recommend? (Besides Horizon).
This is my first time owning my own VR headset. I tried other VR here and there and I enjoyed it but I heard the experience with PSVR2 is even better. I already got Horizon, so what other games are must play in your opinion?

Welcome to the Family! Excited!
Just ordered my PSVR2 thanks to a sweet boxing day sale. It won't come for another week or so, but I'm looking for advice on what game to start with and anything else I need to know. I'm 42, and a little worried about getting motion sickness, but damn I'm super stoked for some immersive gaming!

Opinion Is RE8 worth a new purchase for VR?
I played through it a little over a year ago on Xbox and loved it. I'd have to buy it again on PS for the VR mode, but skeptical. Is it much better than flat screen?
I did live RE7 in VR but it was years ago and it was good but it's PSVR1 so it had its limitations

Discussion What did you find more enjoyable, Arizona sunshine 1 or 2?
I finished one and playing two currently, and I can’t lie, 1 had a nicer vibe for me,but I’m curious to see what other people think.

Opinion I finished the Stride: Fates campaign (Overall thoughts)
This game is no joke. It's frustrating as hell at times and it has issues with VR jank but I really enjoyed the campaign and the level of challenge this game presented.
I died probably 100 times, many of them a result of the game. Thankfully the checkpoints are relatively generous and you can navigate through levels really quickly once you know where you're going. The levels are massive too, I was really surprised at that. I enjoyed the combat, melee is pretty goofy but it works. Gunplay is satisfying. The game wants you to utilize bullet time and to run, jump, slide around. If you go in and are efficient, the bad AI is masked in a sense. However, there are some serious difficulty spikes and I guarantee you won't be complaining about bad AI in those sections, lol.
It took 9 hours to finish and there's still the free DLC to play. I didn't have any crashes, and there was only one instance of slowdown. That was in an earlier mission. Game looked good and was smooth otherwise.
I got it for $15 last week, it might still be on sale. I recommend it if you want something that is fast paced and quite intense, with a serious challenge at times too. Of course you need to have a high tolerance for VR jank and how to remain calm when it crops up. This game absolutely requires patience.
As a whole I found it really impressive from a pure gameplay point of view. Yes it has issues but it's also impressive that it works as well as it does. I'll definitely go back and replay certain missions. It's a game that rewards those who master the mechanics.
Some weird things to be aware of: The game doesn't save your comfort settings so you have to readjust every time you boot in. The main menu is efficient though. having to change them each time was dumb but it didn't bother me.
The gun angle should be set to 10 IMO. The default doesn't make any sense, 10 is the max and the only one that I could get used to for accurate aiming. I didn't bother with laser sights cause those felt off too, just used the iron sights.
This one is important: You can crawl on the ground. During the mid-game hospital stealth mission that everyone hates, you have to crawl under a hospital bed. The game mentions this but I don't recall it ever explaining that you need to grab the flat ground and slowly drag yourself forward. It's the strangest thing and I got stuck there because I figured the game had soft locked. This game has moments like that, you will hit a wall so to speak. I resorted to a YT playthrough two different times. One for that crawling area, the other time I was just overlooking an obvious platform. The game does a good job of guiding you through levels but it absolutely doesn't hold your hand.

Asking For Game Recomendation First time with any VR system, what cozy games do you recommend on PSVR2?
I love farming simulators, maybe cozy adventure, crafting, etc. Looking for chill and calming starts as I adjust to VR. I was sad Fujii didn’t work because I heard that one was good, I do have the garden of the sea one which didn’t explain things but also didn’t make me worry about monsters while I was teleporting around pushing buttons.

Opinion I finished Arashi: Castles of Sin 'Final Cut' (Overall Thoughts)
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Arashi and it's a shame that this game is being slept on so hard. The combat was fun and satisfying, there is great variety with how you can go about levels. The boss fights are fun and some are relatively challenging. The difficulty in general felt great, not too easy, not too hard. It's balanced incredibly well.
The game really impressed me with sound design and how it blends into the UI. The UI itself is essentially hidden, you have to look down to see your health and stamina. If you're running or jumping and your stamina is depleted, the game makes a noise, like two claves being struck together. Same when you crouch and blend in with grass. It's kind of hard to describe but it's just super seamless and allowed me to become one with this Tenchu-style world. Super fun to roleplay as a ninja assassin. This UI style really stood out to me though because Skydance ported/published Arashi on PSVR2 and they also developed Behemoth. Arashi and Behemoth are similar in many ways but Arashi completely trumps Behemoth in terms of UI. In Behemoth it's nearly right in your face and even with the dynamic UI option, it still hangs around for far too long and muddies up the screen. It's not like that at all in Arashi, brilliant UI design IMO.
Upon completion, the game has NG+ in the form of Mission Select. There are 9 different things to find in each level. 3 cursed trees, 3 scrolls, 3 bags of gold. The platinum is easy to get and I plan on getting it. Just need to find the remaining collectables.
Haru, the dog, is useful and endearing/entertaining. Her role in a particular boss fight was quite cool.
The game really surprised me with how good it was. Everything simply worked, I was never fighting against the mechanics or experiencing weird jank. Yes, the combat is weightless and some people interpret that as janky but it's not in the slightest. It's just weightless combat.
I could go on and on really, that's how much I enjoyed this game.

Discussion Request for a youtube app for PS VR 2 for more VR experiences

Fluff Still the Best Holiday Experience - Kayak VR Mirage Christmas/Holiday Level
This is like the 3rd of 4th year that I have just started up Kayak VR Mirage and simply chose the Tour mode for the Christmas/Holiday level. I still consider it one of the best, most relaxing experiences that VR offers. Snow falling, the canyon and trees strung with lights, realistic looking fireworks going off high above you all while relaxing music plays.
Check it out if you have not yet. Choose either tour mode or paddle through it yourself. It is great!

Question Starship Troopers Continuum: Patrol #9 - any hints?
Anyone completed this? I've tried a few times had no luck - explosives damage the equipment youre supposed to guard so thats no use.
Thinking of trying either those decay/hologram grenades or the sticky type to slow down the bugs.
Cant see any way of closing the bug holes either, so if anyone has found a solution I'd be interested.

Discussion Is there any way at all to actually dodge attacks in alien rogue incursion?
this has been annoying the shit out of me. going for insane difficulty for the trophy and there just seems to be no way to avoid a hit when they choose to lunge at you. they have a ton of health and don't get attack stunned. even blasting them with the shotgun while they're jumping does nothing at all

Asking For Game Recomendation Propagation: Paradise Hotel or Hellsweeper VR?
Both games are on sale right now (Propagation for 10€ (50% off) and Hellsweepers VR for 15€ (also 50% off).
Which of the two did you find more enjoyable? I‘m a fan of old school Resi style game so Propagation seems right up my alley. On the other hand, having crazy movement options and a big variety of weapons in a rougelite might be a bit more of a fresh experience in VR?

Support PSVR2 PSVR2 Issues
Christmas was a magical morning with my son opening the VR2 which he had no idea he was getting. The day of, we got it set up and played some games. Fast forward to today and we're stuck.
I did contact support and they're sending me shipping stuff to send it in for repair or replacement, but dang it, I feel like there must be a way to get this working.
The VR2 is connected via the cable, turns on, and the TV display says to place the VR headset on. Both controllers are connected. When you place the headset on, it only displays the PS white logo on a black screen. It stays this way for maybe 2 minutes, and then automatically disconnects/turns off.
Troubleshooting suggestions online seem sparse, and the rep I spoke to on the phone didn't attempt to troubleshoot anything with me.
Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions before I send it in?

Discussion Has Alien Rogue Incursion just shafted me hard? (Spoilers) Spoiler
I’ve battled to near the end of the campaign on insane. To anyone who has tried insane, you know what a struggle that is from save point to save point, every successful reload a parade :)
I’ve just managed to return the two rods to the ship and I’m now trying to get back to operations to reroute the power
Given the game isn’t really giving me useful info on where to go, I was planning to use the stairs in the mess hall to go up a floor to get the lift to the third floor
But for some weird reason the game thinks the mess hall is in the state from earlier when I went there with Davis. The human gets dragged screaming above me as I go down the corridor, then in the mess hall itself there are various people getting murdered
But more importantly the door to the stairs is shut due to blockage. I’m certain I’ve cleared the weld from the back of that door and used it not long ago
Am I screwed now?
I tried going back to the garage to access the medical elevator and climbed all the way down the broken ladder, but the hatch into the lift was closed
Is there another way to operations other than through the mess hall?
I tried going to save data settings to stop automatic upload of save data so I could roll back to my cloud save. I’d lose a bunch of progress, but better than losing the lot. Unfortunately going into the settings caused it to sync :(
My Setup Use two identical move controllers?
Sorry is this has been answered. I just bought a psvr at goodwill for $25.
Do I buy two move controllers? They look identical… it looks to me like there is only one model. I know I can use a DualShock, but I want the most immersive experience.
Also; those controllers that are the rings around your hands… are those psvr2 only?

Question Trouble with adjusting gun in pavlov (with kobra vader one gun stock)
So i hopped back into pavlov after a few months of not playing that game. While it updated i played some killhouse and everthing Was fine. Then i restarted and all the weapon settings were gone.
Now i can't seem to make it work with my gunstock. The tilt settings are not effective once you grab your second hand.
Any Tips?
Opinion What games to buy
Besides the obvious GT and RE, what are the games, a new VR player should buy to play?
