This is my first time owning my own VR headset. I tried other VR here and there and I enjoyed it but I heard the experience with PSVR2 is even better. I already got Horizon, so what other games are must play in your opinion?

Just ordered my PSVR2 thanks to a sweet boxing day sale. It won't come for another week or so, but I'm looking for advice on what game to start with and anything else I need to know. I'm 42, and a little worried about getting motion sickness, but damn I'm super stoked for some immersive gaming!

As someone who really likes VR but am heavily dependent on glasses I always struggled to play comfortably with them. Got a PSVR1 and a Quest 2 and although the Q2 was great it was mildly infuriating to play with glasses.. it always took 10 mins before I could actually play since both my glasses and the headset because foggy the instant I put them on.
Now, with the Black Friday sale on the PSVR2+Horizon bundle I was tempted and hesitant at the same time, because of past experiences with glasses.
I pulled the trigger anyway and got the bundle and enjoyed it; also printed some TPU ‘guards’ to prevent my glasses and/or headset from scratches.
…until, thanks to this group, I discovered the existence of ‘prescription lenses’ and ordered them from HonsVR. It only took a week from ordering to delivery in the Netherlands, even with the christmas inbetween!
I just tried them and OH MY GOD what a game changer! I know they’re not perfect (might print a lower profile) but for me it’s already 1000x times better than what I’m used to!
I’m going to have so much fun with VR from now on…!

I finished one and playing two currently, and I can’t lie, 1 had a nicer vibe for me,but I’m curious to see what other people think.

this has been annoying the shit out of me. going for insane difficulty for the trophy and there just seems to be no way to avoid a hit when they choose to lunge at you. they have a ton of health and don't get attack stunned. even blasting them with the shotgun while they're jumping does nothing at all
D Day with 20 or more players in a match is the most fun I've had in multiplayer PSVR (despite the very Quest-y graphics). I played with over 60 players when the Without Parole weekly meetup picked D Day
Developer "Strange Games" Discord promotes a weekly meetup every Sunday 4pm ET
Crossplay "on" includes Quest & pc VR, but maxes at 32 players (due to Quest). Crossplay "off" is max 64 players. I'm guessing most players are using crossplay, but not sure.
You may want to try the game before Sunday to learn it some. After tutorial, if you're alone on the public servers, the game will supply some bots.
nausea gets me everytime on the first corner. is it gg for me😬😬

This game is no joke. It's frustrating as hell at times and it has issues with VR jank but I really enjoyed the campaign and the level of challenge this game presented.
I died probably 100 times, many of them a result of the game. Thankfully the checkpoints are relatively generous and you can navigate through levels really quickly once you know where you're going. The levels are massive too, I was really surprised at that. I enjoyed the combat, melee is pretty goofy but it works. Gunplay is satisfying. The game wants you to utilize bullet time and to run, jump, slide around. If you go in and are efficient, the bad AI is masked in a sense. However, there are some serious difficulty spikes and I guarantee you won't be complaining about bad AI in those sections, lol.
It took 9 hours to finish and there's still the free DLC to play. I didn't have any crashes, and there was only one instance of slowdown. That was in an earlier mission. Game looked good and was smooth otherwise.
I got it for $15 last week, it might still be on sale. I recommend it if you want something that is fast paced and quite intense, with a serious challenge at times too. Of course you need to have a high tolerance for VR jank and how to remain calm when it crops up. This game absolutely requires patience.
As a whole I found it really impressive from a pure gameplay point of view. Yes it has issues but it's also impressive that it works as well as it does. I'll definitely go back and replay certain missions. It's a game that rewards those who master the mechanics.
Some weird things to be aware of: The game doesn't save your comfort settings so you have to readjust every time you boot in. The main menu is efficient though. having to change them each time was dumb but it didn't bother me.
The gun angle should be set to 10 IMO. The default doesn't make any sense, 10 is the max and the only one that I could get used to for accurate aiming. I didn't bother with laser sights cause those felt off too, just used the iron sights.
This one is important: You can crawl on the ground. During the mid-game hospital stealth mission that everyone hates, you have to crawl under a hospital bed. The game mentions this but I don't recall it ever explaining that you need to grab the flat ground and slowly drag yourself forward. It's the strangest thing and I got stuck there because I figured the game had soft locked. This game has moments like that, you will hit a wall so to speak. I resorted to a YT playthrough two different times. One for that crawling area, the other time I was just overlooking an obvious platform. The game does a good job of guiding you through levels but it absolutely doesn't hold your hand.

I just discovered Vendetta Forever, which is a masterpiece imo, which isn't included in this subreddit's tier list.
What other games are incredible/must play that aren't rated on this subreddit's tier list that I might've missed?

Was waiting for my unit to arrive and didn’t realize GT7 wasn’t going to be available now. Y’all know how often it goes on sale?
This is like the 3rd of 4th year that I have just started up Kayak VR Mirage and simply chose the Tour mode for the Christmas/Holiday level. I still consider it one of the best, most relaxing experiences that VR offers. Snow falling, the canyon and trees strung with lights, realistic looking fireworks going off high above you all while relaxing music plays.
Check it out if you have not yet. Choose either tour mode or paddle through it yourself. It is great!

Christmas was a magical morning with my son opening the VR2 which he had no idea he was getting. The day of, we got it set up and played some games. Fast forward to today and we're stuck.
I did contact support and they're sending me shipping stuff to send it in for repair or replacement, but dang it, I feel like there must be a way to get this working.
The VR2 is connected via the cable, turns on, and the TV display says to place the VR headset on. Both controllers are connected. When you place the headset on, it only displays the PS white logo on a black screen. It stays this way for maybe 2 minutes, and then automatically disconnects/turns off.
Troubleshooting suggestions online seem sparse, and the rep I spoke to on the phone didn't attempt to troubleshoot anything with me.
Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions before I send it in?

I’ve battled to near the end of the campaign on insane. To anyone who has tried insane, you know what a struggle that is from save point to save point, every successful reload a parade :)
I’ve just managed to return the two rods to the ship and I’m now trying to get back to operations to reroute the power
Given the game isn’t really giving me useful info on where to go, I was planning to use the stairs in the mess hall to go up a floor to get the lift to the third floor
But for some weird reason the game thinks the mess hall is in the state from earlier when I went there with Davis. The human gets dragged screaming above me as I go down the corridor, then in the mess hall itself there are various people getting murdered
But more importantly the door to the stairs is shut due to blockage. I’m certain I’ve cleared the weld from the back of that door and used it not long ago
Am I screwed now?
I tried going back to the garage to access the medical elevator and climbed all the way down the broken ladder, but the hatch into the lift was closed
Is there another way to operations other than through the mess hall?
I tried going to save data settings to stop automatic upload of save data so I could roll back to my cloud save. I’d lose a bunch of progress, but better than losing the lot. Unfortunately going into the settings caused it to sync :(

My Dad introduced me to Gran Turismo back when I was no height with Gran Turismo 1 on the original PS1. We had some serious heated battles on Trial Mountain back in the day. I have now reintroduced him to GT7 on the PSVR2. The man is hooked & setting faster laps than me! Merry Christmas everyone x

I love farming simulators, maybe cozy adventure, crafting, etc. Looking for chill and calming starts as I adjust to VR. I was sad Fujii didn’t work because I heard that one was good, I do have the garden of the sea one which didn’t explain things but also didn’t make me worry about monsters while I was teleporting around pushing buttonsz
So i think both games look amazing and i can only buy one of them so i have to choose but not sure. They both look really cool but i care about replay value, and not sure if Synapse has that since its only a 3 hour story. I think Pistol Whip is much more replayable like Beat Baber.
Let me know your opinion and thoughts and which one you would pick
Edit: i'm not looking to buy a subscription to play games i like to own my games
Besides the obvious GT and RE, what are the games, a new VR player should buy to play?

I finally was coming around to getting the cluster mod for my headset and when I checked on Amazon it says they are out of stock but on the website it has the option to buy still. Does anyone know how frequently they restock on their Amazon storefront (I have a $50 gift card that’s burning a hole in my pocket, that’s the only reason I haven’t outright bought it from their website directly)

Would love the team behind into the radius to make a dino survival game.
Jurrasic Park meets Radius. Concept: The event triggers a breach in the timelines and a rift opens to another era. Dinosaurs have entered the radius and it is up to you to figure out what has happened and to help close the rifts.
The small anomalies, compy. Shadow people, raptors, and the spitting Dinosaur. The APC, T Rex.
Just the game play would be fun in a dino survival game.
I’ve been playing video games since 1988, and this feels unbelievably brilliant! GT7 and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge are currently ongoing, and I have to say that I’m really enjoying playing again in a very refreshing way.

My VR journey to date has been Google Cardboard -> Samsung Gear VR -> PSVR -> Quest 2 -> Quest 3 -> PCVR ( just long enough to know I don’t have the patience for all the tinkering) -> PSVR2
To date, my two favorite VR platforms ever have been the OG PSVR and the Quest 3. One of my favorite holiday memories ever was getting the PSVR when it was nearing end of life. Despite the tracking jank, Astro Bot, Tetris Effect, Beat Saber, and RE7 just totally blew me away. Likewise, my mind was totally blown last Christmas when I gifted myself a Quest 3 with a bunch of mixed reality content alongside games like Asgards Wrath 2, Walkabout Mini Golf, Eleven Table tennis, Real Fishing VR, etc.
I wanted to continue the tradition this year, so I jumped on the $350 Call of the Mountain bundle. After putting maybe 8 hours in since yesterday, just wanted to share some high level thoughts for those on the fence:
Software:
I’ve played Resident Evil Village through multiple times in flatscreen on my PS5. It is a fundamentally different experience in VR. The opening scene was a bit of a chore in the past. Being there in VR, in the Winters’ house, holding Rose, exploring each room and seeing their life, it just hit so much harder. As did the end of that scene, which I won’t spoil. Ditto the werewolves. Totally blows away the RE7 port. It’s a little thing, but the fabrics and materials on Mia and Rose’s clothes look so lifelike that you can almost feel them.
GT7 with a wheel (G29 for me) has totally blown me away. Similar to what I mentioned above, it’s just a totally different experience. GT has traditionally bored me to tears, but I put a solid four hours straight into the game last night just grinding license challenges and menu books to unlock more cars and it was so insanely fun. The VR showroom and detailed stereoscopic cockpits make me feel a thousand times more appreciative of and invested in each car relative previous attempts. I mentioned the fabric for RE8 above, what tripped me out majorly in GT7 was playing at my kitchen table, with my house windows open on a 40 degree night, and rounding a corner at sunrise. I swear to you, when that sun hit me through my windshield, I could FEEL THE HEAT.
Kayak Mirage and Call of the Mountain look awesome as well. I’d played Kayak Mirage on PCVR, it looks every bit as good, and the OLED seems to really make the night courses pop. Looking forward to dedicating more time to COTM after RE8.
Hardware:
The wire is inoffensive. The complete play anywhere freedom of the Quest 3 obviously isn’t here for the PSVR2, but I haven’t found myself distracted by or tangled in the wire yet. It’s lightweight, plenty long, and easy to ignore. I’m also enjoying the tradeoff of not having to worry about the headset’s battery dying.
I think all parties are insane on the mura. It is absolutely there and quite noticeable at times. Does it detract from the experience in any way? Not that I’ve noticed. Occasionally I’ll think to myself, “There’s some grain, interesting.” And then I get so caught up in the game that I don’t notice it again for like an hour.
The OLED combined with the light seals are top notch. That inky blackness just sells the immersion so well.
The sweet spot is, in fact, VERY tiny. But it’s not impossible to lock in or anything. Just takes a little tinkering. Once you get it figured it out, it’s fairly easily to quickly find and stay in the sweet spot. Like the mura, it’s equally insane to understate or overstate the issue. It is what it is, and easy to work around, even with the stock experience.
The controllers are a bit finicky to set up (had to charge them for three hours before I could even pair them) and I don’t have a clue how to tell their charge level at a glance, but they feel great in hand. It’s a little thing, but I appreciate how the passthrough shows which controller is right vs. left. It’s easy to mix them up on Quest.
PSVR vs. Quest 3: Which is better?
Easy answer! Both are very different, very awesome, and it’s kind of a dumb comparison when no one size will ever fit all. I LOVE the immersion of the PSVR2 with the deep blacks from the OLED, the PS5 processing power, the interesting haptics, and the awesome handful of true exclusives. And I LOVE the wild freedom and utility of the Quest 3, with its own handful of true exclusives big games, tons of truly inspiring mixed reality apps, media streaming capabilities, and those awesome pancake lenses.
Which should you buy?
Totally privileged take, but one that I feel comfortable making in this sub because the cost of entry into PSVR2 gaming is close to $1,000. Buy both. Might take some saving, or waiting until next year. But both truly are awesome in SUCH different ways. And neither Sony nor Meta are making a dime on VR at the moment. The more we can do collectively to prop up the VR industry through hardware and software sales, versus divide the community with goofy fights over what’s “better,” the more likely we are to get more big games or hardware iterations in the future.
Awesome stuff overall on the PSVR2. I think $350 is the PERFECT price point for this thing. Hopefully we see some of the sales stick around.

And what alternate options do I have to get one. Or anything that would work?
