I need some help building a team for Kizuna thats coming up. Here is my box. Im also looking to make a general purpose team that can "lazily" do the training forests and stuff if anyone can help with that!

I can answer for the training forests. The first couple ones (like the first 3 or 4) don't need anything besides V1 Kaido captain and maybe despair reduction. For the newer forests there is no way you will find one team that beats them all.

Here is a suggestion for a 'general purpose team':

PSY Roger | Yamato/Ace

Roger/WB | v2 Shirahoshi/Mansherry

PSY Strawhats | Kinemon/Denjiro

Here is what this team offers:

With Roger and YamAce as captains, you're immmune against 3 common crew debuffs, which are Despair, Bind and Special bind. They also both provide a lot of damage (mostly a big attack boost).

Roger/Whitebeard can boost damage on every turn with their switch, while their special gives additional damage boost.

Shirahoshi/Mansherry provides a ton of healing, removes a lot of crew debuffs, and allows your team to overheal to 2x its HP.

Kinemon/Denjiro gives a big orb boost, and removes 2 common enemy buffs.

PSY Strawhats does a bit of everything, damage, removing crew debuffs and removing enemy buffs

All units are either Free Spirit or Striker, so they work well together. Not perfectly, since Kinemon/Denjiro's orb buff wouldn't apply to Shirahoshi/Mansherry for example.

Warning: this team breaks several rules of team building, and would be a bad example to follow in most regards:

  • there is no 'general purpose' team, you need to adapt the team to the content

  • you shouldn't use only Legends, RR and f2p units are important

  • you shouldn't focus too much on damage, utility (removing crew debuffs and enemy buffs) is often more important

The main reason I suggest this team is because I love putting together overpowered units. In this case, there is a decent balance between damage and utility, and I hope this team would perform well in many forests. This team should also work against many coliseums and raids.

However, the team can fail even against a relatively easy quest. The reason there is no universal team is because there are too many game mechanics. If the enemy has a barrier, or a resilience buff, there isn't much this team can do. Same if the enemy rewinds your specials, or blows away units.

That's why I'm not sure this team would really help you. It would clear many quests, but more slowly than with a more appropriate team. It also wouldn't teach you anything about team building. Also, if the content is easy, using Legend DEX Kaido or Legend INT Big Mom is faster than any other team.

Thank you for the input. Im still trying to learn teambuilding and stuff! I got diamond Jozu as a support unit and he's super amazing. Im trying to level up my quick whitebeard for support as well. I dont have too many support units and went ham on the anniversary.
