I saw a slight sweat drop on his face too - he (and the others) are terrified that vegapunks speech is (most likely) going to jeopardize their power over the world.

Egghead is a great arc.

Just wanted to clarify that he did not slice the Punk Records part of the Labophase, he sliced the "ground" cloud where the basements keeping the prisoners were. Punk Records is the upper part of the egg shell above everything.

based on how scared they were of the gum gum fruit awakening, i think they know that they only won very narrowly in the past and their hold on the world was always very fragile, because despite a world govt ppl carried joyboy's will and became pirates like him. the elders are getting desparate, both cus they're terrified of what imu would do, and also having to deal with the fallout of the world turning against them completely

About damn time. They did nothing for 20+ irl years and 800 fictional years (i bet they did nothing and let the marines handle it all those times even tho they could clearly fight)
