I will be at the Santa Monica promenade for work. Mainly early early early morning commute hours.

I have a pretty bad pollen allergy that makes my eyes swell shut and I just realized that Cali is dry and hot which means the pollen count could be really high. How bad is it? Is it seasonal or constant?

Title. This seems like this topic is very rarely addressed on this sub. I haven’t come across many actionable resources or clear advice for out-of-state people like myself.
So for those who made the move, how did you do it? It seems you can't land unless your local but feels like a bit of a paradox. Like how did you manage to land a job in a local scene despite not being local so you can move to be local?
What I'm asking is: How do you approach job hunting in LA before actually making the move? How do you line it up and execute the transition?
Thanks!

Title pretty much says it! Love going out in LA and am really considering Sliver Lake / Los Feliz, but I would love a spot in the hills with a pool overlooking it all. Does something with nearby proximity to fun stuff (bars, restaurants, shopping), but in the hills exist?
Context of me: live in NYC with my husband now, but used to live in NorCal and a bunch of other places before that. Early 30s, budget not a factor at this stage (will whittle down based on what we can afford)
