I have a few of these lying around, so I decided to recycle one as a water bottle. I've already researched the plastic it's made of, HDPE, it's FDA approved so it's completely safe to drink from, plus it has a clear part on the side so you can see how much you have left.

I bought this 2018 Harley Davidson 48 Special about 2 months ago. The owner is from Georgia and I’m in South Carolina. It was a trade for my 1994 ZX9R. He said that the 48 is still on the last owners name that he bought it from and that he never registered it in his name. He then said he would go to the DMV and pay the taxes and register it, after that was done and he gets the new title he would change it to my name. Me being impatient I decided to do the trade then and there I transferred my ZX9R to to his name and drove the 48 back home. Last month I reminded him how the process was going. He said he had already went to the dmv and has waiting for the title to come in the mail. I have now contacted him a few times in the this month and he has gone ghost.
I did manage to get a handwritten bill of sale with his signature.
I have insured the bike via VIN with progressive on my name.
I have gone to the DMV and they gave me a form to fill out saying I can get some sort of special title but I would have to go to the DMVs headquarters in Columbia SC.
Anything I can do?
I have been waiting for him to change the title in my name (first option) and not doing it myself with the (second option) because I don’t want to pay 500$+ to register it based on the market value. “Supposedly” he has already done it and is just waiting for the title in the mail.
Luckily, I have not been pulled over yet… That’s is going to be one headache to explain.

Have been riding for 33 years and now my ‘99 Vulcan Nomad is getting a bit heavy for me. Plus I developed a damn hernia pushing it into the garage. :-(. Wife is concerned about me riding at my age, so I wish a 3-wheeler was doable but she’s still concerned about my eyesight and reflexes. Any older riders like to comment?

Try to do long story short. Back on October 3rd a 17 year old kid made a left turn in front of me. I slammed into his doing about 35, 40mph. My leg got stuck between the handlebars and my fuel tank. That shattered my femur and shot the bone out the back of my thigh. Taken to hospital, emergency surgery the next day to put in a rod and 5 screws. Did 8 days in the hospital and about 2 weeks at inpatient rehab. Still recovering mobility and feeling today. Unfortunately I am one of the lucky 5% of fractures that isn't healing at all. No real reason they can find as to why, just is. Have one more option to try and if that doesn't work redoing the entire surgery with a bone graft. Been out of work since October and my sick time is running out as of the end of February I will be at 0% pay and the company will bill me every month to keep my health insurance. So gracious of a billion dollar publicly traded company.
The short of it is I did all the "right things" wore safety gear, had insurance, hired a lawyer after the accident, have sick time for almost 6 months, and still I am some how stuck with the prospect of financial ruin. Here is the breakdown of how this great American system works to protect you.
Other driver had state minimum insurance which is $25k-$50per incident, 3 days after accident state farm offer the full $25k and that's the max. If I want anything beyond that I need to got through my own insurance or sue the other driver. Let's be honest what does a 17 year old have to sue for? Well what about his parents? They own a house worth $60k and declared bankruptcy in 2005. So as far as a lawsuit goes they are all considered uncollectable. I would absolutely win a lawsuit but would likely never see a dime of actual money. Now let's move on to my medical care Anthem Blue Cross, my insurance company has paid for my medical care since the accident which is at about $200k now and let's not forget I had to pay my $4000 max out of pocket before they started full coverage and that resets the end of December. So, whatever settlement I get Athem will have fist dibs on as a reimbursement for what they've paid. So out of my potential $25k the lawyer is taking $5k and arguing with Anthem to let me keep the remaining $20k and I am left with no pay and getting billed to keep my health insurance through zero fault of my own. I had no idea how broken our system till I have lived through this so far. My legs soft tissue has healed really well, but I fell into a small minority of complication with the failing to heal at all.
One of my friends ask me "What the hell are you supposed to do to protect yourself aside from never leave the house?" The main reason for this post is that living through this disaster that I though I was well protected against I would strongly suggest to anyone riding a motorcycle at this point to purchase some sort of gap insurance to cover medical and any lost pay to keep you whole until you recover. Purchasing a bigger motorcycle policy is a giant waste of time honestly. If I had a $100k policy the lawyer would have taken a 3rd and the health insurance would have gotten a 3rd and I would be left with about $30k, I mean what a joke. Stay safe riders and protect yourselves to avoid this the best you. Plus wear a helmet and the right gear, it's the only reason my only injury was just my leg.

So here’s my dilemma, I first started practicing riding motorcycles on my friends Ninja 650, then over to his old Ninja 250r, to finally my cousin’s Yamaha r3. Although this spanned over a year, I have probably only spent a little over a month on a motorcycle in total. I went and took my skills test the other day and passed easily. I have rode all the previously listed bikes + a friend’s Kawasaki Ninja 400 recently. My friend is offering me the 250r for $900 so I can keep practicing before saving up for a bigger bike. Is this a good idea? Should I just spend the $900 and keep riding the 250r, or should I keep saving for the bike I want (Suzuki Gsxr 600). At what point am I no longer a beginner. Any specific skills I should master before moving up? I think I’ll buy the bike since I am sure I can get my money back on it down the line, but really I am just wondering when you realized you were ready for a bigger bike. Thanks.
Edit: Thank you all for the advice, looks like I’ll be buying the 250r, please keep leaving your advice on things I should do/practice as a beginner and first time bike owner.

So I’m being told that you can get a decent helmet for a couple hundred. I’ve also been told that anyone who spends less than $500 on a helmet is an idiot. Then I see this one currently going for $89.99 down from $99.99. So I must ask, as someone picking up their first bike soon, is there a cost vs quality helmet formula that I’m missing?
As a side note I’ve had this argument in the past about scopes on rifles. Is it the same thing? Am I just dealing with some elitism or what’s the deal?

Hello everyone,
This is my first time having a Motorcycle in the winter, I live in Michigan, I decided to clean my bike and store her in my garage about a month ago and once in a while charge the battery and maintain the battery with a battery tender through the winter, however, yesterday after work, I tried to start it and I couldn’t get a single light or anything to turn on, my battery tender even said that my battery in my motorcycle is fully charge, but when I turn the key, I can’t get any lights or anything to turn on
Anyone know what the issue might be?
(I have a 2021 Harley Davidson Sportster)

I want to be able to charge my ohone as I use it when riding and I ride all weather's. But I havnt used the USB feature because generally I don't think it'd be a good idea for rain riding. Are these ports actually wetherpoof?
