This man and his team have been gaslighting us for months. They have been lying saying this nigga was sharp behind scenes knowing damn well grandpa wasn’t. This could’ve been avoided and now he leaves with just 3 months for who ever to campaign. smfh.

America is ghetto. Shit has turned into game of thrones.

On the plus side, if they pick someone young, energetic, and relatively unknown all he or she would have to do is be decent in the debates. Not enough time for Trump's team to dig up (or make up) dirt and fling it.

A fresh faced, clear minded, adult could clean up.

u/Miss_airwrecka1 Jul 21 '24

It seemed like they grooming Corey Booker for bigger things but I haven’t heard anything about him in a while

32

u/FireVanGorder Jul 21 '24

Corey Booker running for president might he the only thing in the universe to get New Jersey to vote red

361

u/CharlotteLucasOP Jul 21 '24

…AOC? Can we? Please?

774

u/laminatedbean Jul 21 '24

Too many people absolutely loathe her.

170

u/NiceChocolate Jul 21 '24

This. She could do so much good but AOC is too polarizing for moderates (and their donors)

15

u/Men_I_Trust_I_Am Jul 21 '24

Veep is really a documentary

Those people weren’t voting Democrat anyway.

58

u/Boogeryboo ☑️ Jul 21 '24

That's not true. Too many people on reddit think the democratic party is made of young leftists, when it is much more conservative in reality

135

u/mellolizard Jul 21 '24

Not true at all. Democratic party is more conservative than you think.

She's 34. Will she be 35 by then??

249

u/notanothercirclejerk Jul 21 '24

Looked this up days ago for this very question. She will be 35 by election day.

u/Cptn_Fluffy Jul 21 '24

Holy shit she'd have my vote

u/thavillain ☑️ Jul 21 '24

u/jboni15 Jul 21 '24

Feels like this would be the equivalent of running Beto

7

u/NetworkEcstatic Jul 21 '24

She would get my vote for sure. Then again I'm voting against Trump and all the nasty shit he stands for regardless.

5

u/Heldacock Jul 21 '24

Hell Nawh 🤣

4

u/October_13th Jul 21 '24

This is my DREAM. I would be so thrilled if she ran.

Will Trump debate the next candidate? He might back out

117

u/Zbrchk Jul 21 '24

You know he will. Old scary ass

77

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '24

nah, Trump likes to sling mud in person, and if he's directly challenged his ego won't allow him to stand down. Besides, he needs that to project how fearless and strong he is to his cult or they'll desert him.

The problem isn't making up dirt, its sitting in it. Most of the shit we know about Trump, Biden, and Kamala are kinda old news so voters don't care. Some new shit is what i'm worried about lmao.

144

u/NolaDutches Jul 21 '24

This!!

Biden stepping down is not a bad thing. We have a much great chance now!

Let’s get some youth in there.

15

u/solitarium ☑️ Jul 21 '24

Who?

8

u/mesact Jul 21 '24

Very likely that they're gonna put up Kamala. It's the only choice that makes sense given the circumstances. Anyone else, and it's almost a guaranteed L. (Shit, things still look grim in a Trump v. Kamala match up)

3

u/BundtCake44 Jul 21 '24

Assuming trump will do another debate. And that the moderator won't suddenly be overly rigid and I dunno willing to do their job with zeal?

3

u/Serious-Examination Jul 21 '24

Think you might be underestimating trump and his party's ability to make up some bullshit.

I do agree that a good, not old af, pick could still win

2

u/DLottchula 👱🏿Black Guy™ who wants a Romphim Jul 21 '24

trump ain't gonna debate anymore

1

u/TittyTwistahh Jul 21 '24

Trumps not gonna debate anyone

1

u/CanuckPanda Jul 21 '24

They picked Kamala.

I’ll tell you why this was actually a smart / strategic play and actually helped given recent events… They just finished the RNC and trashed Biden for propaganda and social media clips. They intentionally announce he is stepping down, after the convention, making the whole rally irrelevant to Biden. They can campaign fresh now that the media rush is over. It was the smart play.

7

u/starrpamph Jul 21 '24

They can take their ai generated 69 ass star flag and shove it

65

u/Special-Garlic1203 Jul 21 '24

No it's not. The smart play was being a one term president like almost everyone assumed he'd be. This is just chaotic and it's going to face so many challenges and you cannot trust Republican judges as far as you can throw them

8

u/lonnie123 Jul 21 '24

This is just chaotic and it's going to face so many challenges and you cannot trust Republican judges as far as you can throw them

What challenges is it going to face that a republican judge will have a say in?

23

u/Unaabellatica Jul 21 '24

OP is sowing dissent.

Dude is one of these closet trump supporters who wont outright say they're voting for trump or support trump.

He'll peruse BPT and other subs, but he'll discretely make snide remarks and will discreetly show his support for the right.

He's akin to how Joe Rogan claims he's not right leaning but then have majority of his guests be right leaning folks.

I dunno man, I’m pretty sure we all hate Trump more than we hate each other.

8

u/saintmcqueen Jul 21 '24

They are already in talks of stepping over her. They are going to be pushing Kamala but expect to see Gavin Newsome and Gretchen Whitmer be mentioned a lot more.

22

u/theblackchin ☑️ Jul 21 '24

What do you mean? This is happening purely because political strategists convinced Jill and whoever else in the inner circle Biden can’t win

12

u/CyberCrutches Jul 21 '24

I don’t think Biden steps down unless there was a plan for the Democratic Party. Let’s wait and see

9

u/West-Assistant-9837 Jul 21 '24

HAH you don’t know the dem party then bro. I vote blue most of the time and this is one thing I can’t stand about them, they have no unity and no forethought.

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '24

normal dnc convention is held in late August so not really a big set back

68

u/TheEmptyVessel Jul 21 '24

You're right but that's still longer than most countries campaigns. A new (YOUNGER) candidate can focus on running full-time at rallies and appearances. Neither Joe nor Trump can even come closer to a normal campaign schedule.

8

u/sunburn95 Jul 21 '24

It is crazy how long you guys campaign for though. As an Australian it feels like our whole campaign cycle goes for about 2 weeks before the election, whereas you guys it seems like nearly 2 years

Still, i feel like a relatively unknown can still come in and steal the show when the alternative is Trump. I hope I'm not wrong in thinking there's enough unease with Trump that if someone who can get through a sentence comes in, they'll be seen as a viable candidate

15

u/BlackFanDiamond Jul 21 '24

It took prolonged coordinated effort of donors, elite democrats, pollsters and the press for this to happen. It's disappointing how power can be so intoxicating.

8

u/arcadiaware ☑️ Jul 21 '24

Biden should have actively sought to be a one-term president. He didn't, and that's on him. But I cannot think of a way that he drops out at any point this year, or last, that would have secured a win for the next person. Politics and voters are stupid, and being the incumbent has a good deal of value.

The media isn't going to attack Trump in any meaningful way. They sure as shit aren't going to be running the same age stories now that Trump is the oldest person running.

The other problem is that whoever runs has to be strong enough to have been a contender for nominee in 2028. We're basically asking that person to cripple their future campaign, to run against Trump. If they lose, everyone's just gonna say the Dems picked the wrong candidate, or they couldn't electrify the voters enough.

u/NoWomanNoFry A Positive Bitch ✨ Jul 21 '24

They announced right after the RNC. Now all the yapped about for three days doesn’t matter lol. Kamala is gonna annihilate Trump on the next debate.

5

u/TheDriestOne Jul 21 '24

They really denied us a primary election just for this old geezer to back out FOUR MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION.

We’re so incredibly fucked.

4

u/laminatedbean Jul 21 '24

Exactly. They want to act like people overreacted to the debate. But they knew how he was and they were hiding it. They had ample time to come up with another candidate a d they did nothing. They should’ve be doing more with Kamala or someone else to get that person out and seen to take over. They did nothing a d they fucked us all.

3

u/Cptn_Fluffy Jul 21 '24

Naw, if you wanna know gaslighting go look at the Republicans side.

3

u/Unaabellatica Jul 21 '24

OP is just sowing dissent.

He aint saying against Trump and will go to other subs to spout of his support for Trump.

2

u/MasPike101 Jul 21 '24

I feel like this is what the Happsbergs in the last few generations of being in power. All the inbreeding and old treaties and alliances that make absolutely no sense..

2

u/wikithekid63 ☑️ Jul 21 '24

Joe is sharp. This only happened because of donor pressure

→ More replies (2)

1

u/underwearfanatic Jul 21 '24

When an incumbent isn't involved normally the candidate only officially has a few months to campaign because the conventions are mid year.
