Right? Biden was supposed to be the "politics is boring it's ok to not let it consume all the attention" President.
Or the "he's sane and hires sane people so go play some video games, we got this" President.
I want the boring guy back already.

The bias against women as leaders is far greater in numbers than those who have bias in favor, especially when you consider the ones who prefer women were voting democratic either way. The ones biased against women might flip or most likely sit out
And a LOT of the times it's subconscious. There's consistent disparities between what people say the think and do, and what we actually do.

Some have pointed out that doing this is the only way to retain the money they have already raised for the campaign. Since she was already on the ticket, she gets to inherit those funds. If they went with someone else entirely, that person would be starting with $0

I too will vote for Rocky, loved his campaign speech:
Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed citizens of our great nation,
Today, we gather here to celebrate a momentous occasion in our political history. Today, we introduce a candidate who embodies the values, spirit, and charm that our nation holds dear. Today, I present to you Rocky the cat, running for President of the United States!
Rocky is not just any cat. He is fluffy, and his presence is a comforting reminder of the warmth and coziness we all seek in our lives. His fur, soft as a cloud, symbolizes the gentle touch our government can provide to its people, ensuring that every citizen feels seen, heard, and cared for.
Rocky is hungry, not just for his favorite treats, but for justice, equality, and progress. His insatiable appetite represents his unwavering commitment to feeding the dreams of every American. Under Rocky’s leadership, no one will go hungry, and every family will have the resources they need to thrive.
Rocky is smart. His sharp mind and keen instincts are unparalleled. He navigates complex situations with grace and precision, much like how he skillfully maneuvers around obstacles in his path. Rocky’s intelligence ensures that our country will be led with wisdom, foresight, and innovative solutions to the challenges we face.
Rocky is friendly, extending a paw of friendship to all. His inclusive nature means that he values every individual, regardless of background, race, or creed. Rocky’s presidency will be one of unity, bringing people together to build a stronger, more cohesive society where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
And let’s not forget, Rocky is undeniably cute. His charming presence brings smiles and joy to everyone he meets. In times of hardship and division, Rocky’s cuteness is a reminder of the simple pleasures in life, a symbol of hope and positivity that can bring us all together.
Rocky the cat represents the change we need. A leader who is fluffy yet fierce, hungry yet generous, smart yet humble, friendly yet firm, and cute yet commanding. Rocky’s vision for America is one where compassion, intelligence, and inclusivity reign supreme.
Together, we can make history

186
u/lunardaddy69 Jul 21 '24
I’m trying to have this energy here. I appreciate you voicing it. I wasn’t as alarmed as many after Bidens’s debate performance, and I worried about having him drop out so close to the democratic convention. But honestly, a month is a long time. We have time to figure this out before the official nomination. And then November is long enough away for this person to make a strong case.
I had mixed feelings about Biden dropping out. But now that it has occurred I’m trying to stay positive

Funnily enough, she's been polling higher than Biden, so it's already an improvement. Plus, she will be able to campaign and speak more effectively. We need someone who can explain to the people why we can't survive another Trump term and get dem voters excited to vote. Biden obviously couldn't do it anymore and was bleeding down ballot races. I'll gladly support whoever the DNC puts up though tbh.

I think we need someone who black women are excited to vote for. Didn’t we pretty much secured the election for Obama both times? When we show up to the polls, our candidate wins.
I wish Michelle would run. I know she hates politics. But she’s probably the only one who can defeat Trump this late in the game.
281
u/DrixxYBoat Jul 21 '24
A. Black women absolutely dominate the polls when they're motivated to show up.
In recent years, you've actually had the dnc try to guilt trip black women on some "it's your job to show up and save America"
B. Michelle Obama would smoke Trump but she famously hates politics and finally has her husband back.

It's been mentioned that keeping Kamala on the ticket is required if they want to retain all the fundraising money they've already got. I don't know if that would work if Gavin takes over as the presidential candidate or if Kamala would have to be 'upgraded' to that spot. If so, perhaps Gavin could become her VP and hopefully that'll bolster things

Newsom would have ZERO chance of winning those Midwest swing states, which is what this whole election hinges on. Those areas hate, hate hate hate California with a burning passion, and that would be an instant nope alone for Newsom from those areas.
That's not even including any of the issues currently affecting CA that happened under his era (not saying they're his fault, but that's how it's perceived in the eyes of the Midwest).

The Democratic National Convention has the potential to be the greatest display of true patriotism this nation has ever seen since TV.
Honor Biden. Send him off as the hero he is and show the nation what he has accomplished in his life and especially the last four years. Then concentrate on showing the nation an alternate to the trash the Republicans gave us.
Hey Clooney, the bar is low: Hulk Hogan , Kid Rock, Lee Greenwood. Get the Hollywood crew together and let’s blow some socks off of the bench sitters.

Kamala Harris better be on her A game these next few months because we need to win against Trump. I’m not a huge fan of her and her politics but she makes more sense than any other candidate. Hopefully, the people will wake up and pay attention. Please get out and vote in local elections. Your mayor; your senate; your house representatives; just anyone holding political office. We have to dismantle our government for real change to happen and donate for the ones who want to help us!

Democrats shot themselves in the foot for being soft consistently. Now what do you do? Go with a VP that people don't like or scramble with someone else and look desperate. It's a dub

This is what I’ve been saying! Why are democrats always on this loser behavior? Trump could shit his pants and Republicans would start a shitting trend. Biden stutters and all dems think he should drop out. There’s not unity in this party.
I’ll vote for any democrat, but man this election is a clown show!

Kamala Harris was endorsed by Biden. Just hoping this gives all the people giving up and accepting Trump’s win a kick in the butt to vote for Harris. The defeatist look for people on YT isnt a good look. Please vote Blue to keep a fascist dictator out of office

It's going to be chaotic, but I think we have a fighting chance now.

Maybe now Biden can go all out with the Presidential Immunity without having to worry about reelection
Maybe he will declare the Hermitage Foundation a terrorist org and start shipping people to GTMO

Yeah, people and the news kept ragging on his age like Trump isn't 78 and also showing signs of it.
Dude did a good job picking up the pieces after Covid/Trump, staved off a big recession and got a lot of historic shit passed.
I hope this is a good move and not instead the moment we just handed Trump the presidency again.

“In times like these, it’s comforting too know there’s always been times like these”
Can someone who’s older than me tell me when we’ve had times like these!?

Doesn’t this bring up issues with deadlines for state ballots. AOC was just saying how this shit wasn’t the move cause MAGA going to take that late ballots to court.

Unfortunately, this country is run by billionaires and their friends. This was a calculated move that allowed “billionaire” democratic donors to pretend they care about the country by pressuring their candidate to step aside “for the good of the people”, while doing something that’s in their best interest—remove the guy who has the best chance to beat the guy who is promising tax cuts for the top 1%.
They get to pretend they care, but benefit from crippling democracy. Win-win for the oligarchy.

This was no doubt a difficult decision for president biden. I’m glad he was honest with himself and his capacity to fulfill his duties forthright. Shame it took him so long though. So, now it all falls on Harris. Who will be the vp pick I wonder?

All I can say is good luck from across the pond. If your country elects a lunatic it affects us all

In modern history few men have ever relinquished power willingly. Particularly to a Woman or Minority. Joe Biden's grace, humility, pragmatism, and patriotism is greater than this Country has deserved in recent years.
The Inflation Reduction Act, Chips and Science Act, Gun Control, Pact Act, Student Loan relief, ending America's longest war, supporting Ukraine, strengthing NATO, etc. Joe Biden has be the greatest President of my life. Thank you Joe Biden.
Lefts all of us be inspired and energized by Joe Biden's leadership. Let's go Kamala Harris 2024!!!
