Do you think we will ever get a rivalry this good between America and another nation again? China isn’t hitting the same way

If the Soviet Union returns again

Even if he manages to take Kyiv and dismantle the Ukrainian government, Russia will be dealing with an insurgent population who will make life hell. Especially if NATO can figure out how to keep supplying partisans with weapons.

What rivalry? There wasn't a single point were the USSR was on pair with the US

3

u/dadbodsupreme GEORGIA 🍑🌳 15h ago

They were hot off the line in the space race, but they never even finished.

2

u/XxJuice-BoxX 23h ago

They actually are even better than Russia and America. Because unlike the ussr, China has the industrial base to not collapse therefor a cold war wont end abruptly

6

u/Colforbin_43 23h ago

One major part about an industrial base, is having a population of workers. If china get their birthdate situation turned around, it will be just as crippling as anything seen.

5

u/XxJuice-BoxX 21h ago

Ya but 1.4b people is still a lot. Even if they took damage to their total population, they would still likely have 3 times the population of America. That's a lot of workers.

4

u/XxJuice-BoxX 21h ago

And ya their population will drop temporarily but will bounce back as the younger pop grows up and make more babies

u/ColdFire-Blitz 18h ago

No, because nobody took BRICS seriously and they came out of nowhere and took us over in the blink of an eye. We lost. You can't have a rivalry with yourself. Then again, now that we're an oligarchic puppet, maybe we'll be the EU/CANZUK/NATOs rival. It's seems to be what y'all have been fantasizing about forever anyways.

It’s crazy how the US prevented half of Europe from becoming Soviet shit holes

That is?

Operation Unthinkable coupled with nuclear bombs, would have prevented millions of deaths under Stalin and Mao and saved perhaps trillions of dollars in the long run.

I didn't know the Soviets had nukes during the 40's...

0

u/MiniRamblerYT 13h ago

How was I to know you were specifically talking about the 40s?

2

u/Mean_Ice_2663 🇫🇮 Suomi 🦌 13h ago

That's the only timeframe that would make sense if you know anything about history, until the 60's when ICBMs were put in service the soviet onion couldn't have done anything against a first strike and until 1949 didn't even have nukes of their own.

I am proud about the fact that the Soviet union fell down as a country because there is no threat of America falling down because of the threat of another nation. I believe that old people living in the former Soviet states believe that life was better in the Soviet union than today because eastern Europe is an incredibly corrupt part of the world where people make little to no money what so ever.

33 years ago, America got it’s best Christmas gift that it could ever dreamed of. The dissolution of it’s rival, the Soviet Union

Good thing the USSR hasn't taken eastern europe!

6

u/DaLordOfDarkness 1d ago

I can’t help but admire the coincidence that it all take place near Christmas.

4

u/The_Grizzly- CALIFORNIA🍷🎞️ 1d ago

There’s a reason why the fall of the Soviet Union was considered to be America’s greatest Christmas gift. But I do wish it collapsed on New Years 1992 for symbolic’s sake.

3

u/DaLordOfDarkness 1d ago edited 20h ago

It’s funny, yet fitting and kinda cool how the fall of the USSR is America’s best Christmas gift. A shitty and evil rival had finally collapsed after all. And I agree that it’s should’ve happened during the new year. It feels more symbolic and cinematic.

2

u/The_Grizzly- CALIFORNIA🍷🎞️ 13h ago

Being a little bit nitpicky here does feel really off about the fact that the USSR ceased existing before the Mongolian People's Republic or the SFR Yugoslavia. Especially considering the MPR was a sattelite state of the Soviet Union.

4

u/DDemetriG 1d ago

Lots of missed potential there. Imagine if Russia adopted an American-style Government, how much more prosperous they would be and how peaceful Europe would be... or failing that, Imagine if we actually bought the Russian Far East...

1

u/burgonies 10h ago

So did they have that Russian flag just sitting around in case?

Lenin? You mean the collectivist Napoleon?

I love how the past three “people’s revolution” has immediately turned into a military/theocratic dictatorship.

Robespierre is a bad guy and might have lied about being obnoxiously rich and powerful, better replace him and the king with the Italian Shogun Napoleon.

Russia let’s get rid of the Czar for a this Lenin guy we’re not electing and is maybe a dictator.

Useful Idiots Mao and Kim don’t understand they were picked over the more moderate resistance leaders a kill off 25% of their population and now have a giant nepotistic dictatorship.

A bunch of rich kids take a summer trip to Uruguay get mad and dispose the Cuban government for “communism” which means I’m a dictator and USSR is an infinite money trick. Why didn’t the US make us poor!

Western educated Leftist coup the western style government in Iran for a Theocracy. Absolute peak Leftist.
