Operation Unthinkable coupled with nuclear bombs, would have prevented millions of deaths under Stalin and Mao and saved perhaps trillions of dollars in the long run.

That's the only timeframe that would make sense if you know anything about history, until the 60's when ICBMs were put in service the soviet onion couldn't have done anything against a first strike and until 1949 didn't even have nukes of their own.
