Live Video đ This is what the ruling class fears:
63
u/Hot-Tone-7495 Apr 01 '24
I smoke weed but I hated when people did that suit on my commute. I canât be showing up to work smelling like I just smoked a joint.
4
u/TemperatureTop246 Apr 01 '24
The parking garage for my work ALWAYS smells like fresh weed smoke, especially on the lower levels. Iâm afraid the smell will follow me in.

u/daggerson101 Apr 01 '24
No. The ruling class fears my fursona because he will vore them and their money.

Deadass how me and the homies are when we either get offered a blunt or when someone accepts our offer.

Did she even inhale?
5
u/eagleathlete40 Apr 01 '24
(are you supposed to inhale?)
7
u/86yourhopes_k Apr 01 '24
âŠ. Thatâs sorta the point.
3
u/eagleathlete40 Apr 01 '24
Well I ask because cigars, for example, arenât supposed to be inhaled and you still get an effect.
6
3
u/nw171717 Apr 01 '24
More so for the flavor profile than any physical effect, but nonetheless correct
402
Apr 01 '24
Not part of the ruling class. Just think weed smells disgusting and don't want it smoked near me. Fucks with my asthma too. That said, I am 100% for weed and want it to be legal everywhere and wish anyone who smokes it the best. Just please be respectful of others.

u/Tugonmynugz Apr 01 '24
I've pavloved my brain into thinking dead skunk on the side of the road smells good, so I feel you
61
u/HuntsWithRocks Apr 01 '24
Every time I pass through dead skunk smell, Iâm like âwhoâs holdin?!?â
8
15
Apr 01 '24
Interestingly, my buddy smuggled some really organic shit from Hawaii once when I was in HS, and that stuff didn't smell so bad. Does some of it smell differently, or maybe it was treated? I don't know much about it.
6
u/Tugonmynugz Apr 01 '24
Different strains/ different flowers. You can get a wide variety of Marijuana, but people tend to do the good ol nose test of how skunky their weed is for judgement. You can have just as high, if not higher potency from something that doesn't smell as skunky
8
u/Frishdawgzz Apr 01 '24
Flowers will all smell differently before, during, and after smoke.
A skunky smell is usually a sign of something strong.
21
Apr 01 '24
Smell has almost zero indication of potency, despite popular belief.
15
u/butt_huffer42069 Apr 01 '24
Potency, no. Effects, usually. As the different smells indicate different terpene profiles, and those absolutely change the taste and effects of the stone.

When I smell (actual) skunk I get nostalgic for my childhood when our dog liked to chase skunks.
1
Apr 01 '24
The number of people who have tried to gaslight me that it doesn't smell like skunk is too large of a number. I can't tell if they are in denial or they have convinced themselves.
6
u/unsmith0 Apr 01 '24
I'm with you. IDGAF what people do in their own homes, or on their deck chillin' in the summer, whatever. My big worry is drivers. Impaired is impaired, and I see so many (or rather smell so many) drivers that are actively smoking. Please don't do that.
-3
u/JhonnyHopkins Apr 01 '24
This is tricky for me to decide on. While I agree impaired is impaired, you DO reach a point of tolerance where smoking weed doesnât really do anything to you anymore. Most pot heads (myself included) donât necessarily smoke to get high, we smoke as a habit, and it has the nice side effect of calming us down. Itâs an EXTREMELY mild drug, when consumed by a daily consumer. I smoke and drive every single day, and have for the past 8 years, not even a fender bender. I only do this because I know Iâm not putting anyone in danger. There have been times when Iâve been too high to drive, so I donât drive. But my tolerance is at a point where smoking on some flower will not do anything to me.
Itâs the same as having a beer at a restaurant, then driving home. Itâs not illegal if youâre under a limit. A few puffs on a jay while Iâm driving down the road is not enough to impair me.
BUT! All that said, not everyoneâs brain chemistry or tolerance is at the same level. Similarly to how we all process alcohol differently, a few puffs on a jay would be more than enough to put my father into a comatose state lol. So what do we do legally? Probably better to eir on the side of caution and keep a blanket ban on smoking and driving.
If I catch a DUI some day I will accept my punishment. But morally, I do believe smoking and driving is an entirely safe thing for me to do, if I EVER thought I was putting OTHER PEOPLE in danger, I would never.
7
u/officeDrone87 Apr 01 '24
As someone who lost a friend to a driver who was high and thought they were "good to drive", this really upsets me to read. I really hope you someday reconsider your position.
-1
u/JhonnyHopkins Apr 01 '24
As someone whose lost family to a driver who was high and thought they were âgood to driveâ, I donât drive if Iâm not ok to drive, like I said. Weed doesnât make you lose your mind and make you think youâre good, alcohol tends to have that effect, youâre able to discern how intoxicated you are on cannabis.
2
u/unsmith0 Apr 01 '24
Even though you're catching some heat here, you make a good point re: limits. Legal BAC isn't zero. I'm willing to accept that some small amount of weed in one's system is still under a legal standard of impairment, but I still draw the line at smoking while actively driving. To me, that's equivalent to driving while drinking a beer, a thing no reasonable person would say is safe.
1
u/JhonnyHopkins Apr 01 '24
Ah but that too is dangerous because like I said, the smallest amount could put a non smoker in a state they shouldnât drive in. Basically the end point being: know your limits, donât put people in danger. Just like how you can drive on a beer or two, someone with a high tolerance can drive on a joint.
1
u/JhonnyHopkins Apr 01 '24
But about the actively drinking behind the wheel thing⊠while I absolutely agree with you and itâs something I would NEVER do, what would the difference be compared to having that beer at a restaurant and THEN driving home? Might even be safer because the alcohol has had less time to process through your body.
1
u/unsmith0 Apr 02 '24
As it relates to weed, the difference is I don't have to smell it while driving behind you.

1
u/314159265358979326 Apr 01 '24
Weed used to give me migraines, so I was terrified when it became legal.
Fortunately, at some point between high school and legalization, it stopped triggering migraines.
1
u/a-snakey Apr 01 '24
Yea, just cause I don't like it doesn't mean no one gets to do it. Long as you're not doing it in closed spaces like the goddamn subway we're good.
-12
u/adfdub Apr 01 '24
Just curious do you like cigar or cigarette smell?
13
Apr 01 '24
No. I hate that too, and it's even worse on my asthma. My asthma's not too bad since I treat it, but around smoke, it gets really bad. Luckily, it's not legal to smoke in public other than x feet away from buildings outside most places I go, and most people are respectful.
1
u/OB_oneKenobe Apr 01 '24
Why would they like cigar/cigarette smell when they just said they have asthma?
0
u/adfdub Apr 01 '24
I know some people who hate weed smell, have asthma, and donât mind cigarette smell. Theyâre idiots. But I figured Iâd ask to see about this person too.
0
u/HuntsWithRocks Apr 01 '24
Personally, cigars are the worst of the bunch and even smell the shitiest IMO. Cigars just scream âpretentiousâ to me, but thatâs just me. I dunno. Anything you light on fire and inhale cannot taste âgoodâ. I get people smoking cigarettes or weed to achieve the effect, but the whole âconnoisseurâ vibe of cigars is just not in line with reality, IMO.
1
u/TheeFlipper Apr 01 '24
Anything you light on fire and inhale cannot taste "good"
Kinda dumb to say considering we use smoke to impart desirable flavors into food. It's not a huge leap for other combustible items to also have a desirable flavor as well.
Your opinion is an uneducated one.
1
u/adfdub Apr 01 '24
I agree. I also agree that cigars smell awful though/. I can tolerate cigarettes but those smell bad too. I donât mind weed smell at all. Weird how opinions work, huh?
3
u/HuntsWithRocks Apr 01 '24
Smoking fire is not the same as imparting flavor with smoke. For example, find me a single cigar that contains actual hickory in it. You wonât. There are cigars that are smoked, like meats, to impart the flavor into them, but you cannot find a single product where people inhale hickory, mesquite, etc.
Iâll stand by my claim that anything you light on fire and inhale (while itâs burning) cannot taste good. It might smell good.
In fact, when I quit smoking, I use a play off that. Since I was a cigarette smoker, I actually donât mind the smell of them so bad, in an open area. I say âcamp fire also smells good, but Iâm not trying to throw a blanket over the fire and start huffing down smokeâ

My client likes the effects of meth but he doesn't have any education regarding it.

I'm missing some context btw the title and the vid, here. How does a rando white woman accepting a blunt on the NY subway equate to "what the ruling class fears?" And why are they cheering as if she ran the 500yd sprint? What, is this Meg Rapinoe??
3
u/Riegel_Haribo Apr 01 '24
Being singled out by a bunch of people and made into a viral video, still being posted four years later, when you just want to get to a destination.

u/guardedDisruption Apr 01 '24 edited Apr 01 '24
I think the point is that the ruling class fears the lowly pleb citizens (anyone that isn't apart of the establishment or elite) all coming together, ie they want us to stay divided. I can see how people could feel like it has something to do with the weed though.

I think of everyone standing together when I see a white Person smoking weed with a group of black people. You see black people are props for white people. You get along with them, and somehow magically you have a political message :)

Why did you assume I donât think things are connected lol a video of a single white person smoking a joint with black people is laughable.
Ainât no racist watching this going to think to themselves âoh I guess Iâm not racist no moreâ lmao
Itâs hilarious how you assumed so many things about me based off this one video. Taking another wild guess and assume youâre also white or at the very least upper middle class
1
1
u/scottsplace5 Apr 01 '24
Now, is this person a more noteworthy than average person, or is she just a white person? Itâs as if someone thinks sheâs a politician of some sort, or maybe rich. There may be a sliver of racism amongst the black people on that subway.
5
u/mapleresident Apr 01 '24
Idk all I know is as soon as I see some black people getting along with a white person, all I think about is the ruling class
1
u/scottsplace5 Apr 01 '24
Everyone says that our politicians need us to hate one another, and they make up new reasons for us to hate one another and socially cut the world in half every day. If youâre not a liar youâll never do what you need to do once you get voted in.

Racism was solved when Obama was elected President, everyone knows this
0
u/OrthoOtter Apr 01 '24
Honestly I donât recall race being such a trendy topic or point of contention prior to Obama. It seems like it was around 2012 when American news media and Hollywood started making race a focal point of a lot of what they produced, along with it becoming a focus of academia.
Iâve seen people claim that racial tension was intentionally injected into the US after the rise of the Occupy Wallstreet movement. The timeline does seem to match up, at least per my recollection.

It's true though. There's a MASSIVE effort across all social media platforms to drive wedges between all the "non elite" groups. It's Class Warfare as well as a type of State Sponsored Cyber Attack on the US and other major democracies. Social media is flooded with race-baiting and hate triggering content. Anything to make racial groups fear and hate each other rather than inspiring them to unify or celebrate their common causes. The ultra-wealthy and powerful know that we middle and lower class people VASTLY outnumber them and COULD snap our fingers and change the world for the better. But that also means toppling the elites (not just in the US mind you) and paging the way to true democracies (small D) everywhere.
This video title is actually SPOT ON. Can you imagine if the majority of Reddit was positive, inspirational, REAL content showing people getting along, loving or at least not hating each other, cooperating to make a more wonderful world???
The enraging content that fills most of your feeds isn't there by accident and isn't there because it's some real and proportional representation of life outside your home. MASSIVE amounts of money and energy are going into making sure your feeds are flooded with toxicity. Tearing us apart is the goal.
