So is Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth nostalgia good or good good?

So, I played it knowing I enjoyed Digimon in my childhood but before getting back into Digimon anime with the newer series' like Tri

And I'd say Cyber Sleuth is a really good monster trainer/RPG. It is very much inspired by Persona, so it is quirky and has a lot of slice-of-life content just like those games, only it has Digimon in it. If you like Persona then you should get behind Cyber Sleuth!

I got platinum for Cyber Sleuth playing this game in installments over a couple of years, and I must admit the story really surprised me as it progressed. I think it's a great game, and it sticks in my memory as something I truly enjoyed.

Difficulty spikes can be crazy, but then I learned the importance of properly training your Digimon and obtaining better items.

Nostalgia doesn't really play a part in this game at all - other than "hey, I remember that Digimon!" or "Hey there's Agumon" aha

Pokemon crossed with Persona and a memorable story? That does sound appealing... I'm sold and will give it a try, thanks for the thoughtful reply.

No worries! The game isn't perfect, but honestly I fell in love with it somewhere along the way. Stopped playing it a couple of times as I wanted to get into other things, but it's a game that stays locked in my memory in a very fond way. I can remember all the characters and many epic moments and even smaller moments in side missions. It's intimate, in a sense.

If you're a fan of Digimon even slightly and enjoy a Persona-like gaming experience then this game is a fantastic choice! Digivolving and de-Digivolving your roster to get them even more powerful is very satisfying!!
