Fallout New Vegas is a bad game and the worst of the main saga

I liked Fallout 3, it was a great and fun game, a little mess to explore but i just felt like i had infinite content, the DLCs were good, there were barely any bugs and i dint even need mods, so then i heard about the GLORIOUS and AMAZING Fallout New Vegas, so i played Fallout 4 first, which was a good game, almost as good as fallout 3, but not as good, though it had many more replayability which i liked.

And then i get Fallout New Vegas and... It's a buggy mess all around, so i install mods to fix it and play the game and

1-The plot makes no sense at all, after getting the platinum chip and giving it to Mr House for example you suddenly become a servant for any faction you ally with and help them in a war that DOESN'T involve you in any way, the courier is from other part of the country, yet he's without any reason involved in a giant war.

2-Choices dont matter at all, when i got told about how FNV had millions of choices and they mattered i said:"Finally, my choices will change the world, killing some random ants will free up space for people to trade!" and then i realize, any choice you make barely affects things except for a little screen and dialogue at the end of the game. I got really surprised to realize i couldn't play after the end and had to load an earlier save? I wanted to see all that i had done in the world, but i couldn't, hell, even killing Cesar just doesn't do anything except for a dialogue.

3-Exploration, this game has the worst exploration of the saga, Fallout 1 & 2 were desert but at least every time you stopped you knew you were in danger and you had to act. This game? You just travel 40 minutes to a random location following a destroyed road in the desert, there's literally not even a single thing to do or any npcs to find unless you go to a nearby town, also with the graphics being ugly with that brown tint it just makes exploration less fun, at least fallout 3 had a green tint that dint burn your eyes so much.

Oh yeah, and the fact that this game is unplayable unless you install mods, and for whoever who says:"Mods make this game a masterpiece, they add good graphics and story and continuation for the ending!" just no. A person should be able to enjoy the game without it crashing without mods.

We should replace the $50 bill with a $60 bill

The $50 bill doesn't fit evenly into our denominations. All denominations except the 50 are able to be made with all lower denominations. The 5 can be made with five 1s, the 10 can be made with two 5s or ten 1s, the 20 can be made with two 10s, four 5s, or twenty 1s, the 50 cannot be made with just twenties though. The pattern continues with the 100 though.

This causes issues when you have only one 50 and need to add bills to get to an multiple of 100. If I have a 50 and need to add bills to get to 100, I have to add 2 twenties and a ten, that's not very neat. In fact, if you have an odd number of 50s, you'll always have to add a 10 to get to an even multiple of 100. If we had a $60 bill instead, that would be solved, the entire system would be far, far neater.

There's no way to make the $50 bill behave neatly. We can change the 20 to be 25 but that just causes issues with the 10 dollar bill (and because 25 isn't even, you can't solve that).

Literally nobody is talking about this clearly massive issue. I don't understand why not?

Batman (2022) is a boring movie.

When this movie first came out both critics and audience were acting like this is groundbreaking batman film so I decide to give a shot but managed to find boring and to long. The batman detective thing is full of cliches. I genuinely think this is most overrated film of recent time.

The Controller is the Best Input Device for Video Games

Whether for PC or console, controllers are the superior input device for video games. The joystick was designed for video games, ie pong, the very first video game. Triggers, vibration feedback, and the ergonomics of controllers are obviously better for games than mouse/keyboard.

Keyboard and mouse were designed for productivity NOT video games.

Chipotle is the worst fast food by a country mile.

It is honestly so bland and lacking completely in any flavor. I am not a huge fan of fast food in general but chipotle is honestly the most disappointing option and refuse to eat it even when its free. I legitimately don't understand who would ever bother eating here except for gym bros who can get there macros. (which makes sense on the protein compared to other "fast" options). I feel like I am a crazy person thinking it is so bad, it seems everyone around me except my boyfriend all love it.

I hate roller coasters and can’t believe people find them remotely enjoyable

Let me start by saying, I’m not afraid of roller coasters, I’ve ridden plenty and it’s not a fear aspect that makes me dislike them. They’re just not fun. What part of being thrown around up and down and side to side and upside down is fun to you all? Like wtf? U enjoy being made nauseous from being twisted and turned at 50 mph? Like no thanks buddy, I’ll stay on the ground.

I didnt like Shawshank Redemption

I mean the acting is good, no question about that. But the plot? Absolute bullshit. He had been digging and no one knew. For this long. The plot was so far fetched, it was a huge turn off.

The Chesapeake Bay is the Real Bay Area

Okay, I need to get this off my chest: why does everyone just automatically call San Francisco the Bay Area? Like, when did we all agree on this? Because I definitely don’t remember signing that petition. And every time someone says it, I can’t help but think, “Wait, are we just ignoring the Chesapeake Bay?”

Let’s put this in perspective: the Chesapeake Bay is 4,480 square miles. That’s huge. San Francisco Bay? 1,600 square miles, tops. It’s like comparing a watermelon to a cantaloupe. Sure, both are cool, but one is clearly bigger and more deserving of attention. And yet, when you say “the Bay Area,” everyone immediately thinks tech bros and overpriced avocado toast, not a massive ecosystem that spans six states.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. The San Francisco Bay has great PR. It’s like the popular kid in school who everyone knows and talks about, even though they’re not actually that interesting. Meanwhile, the Chesapeake Bay is like the quiet overachiever who does all the work but never gets invited to the party.

And don’t get me started on the history. The Chesapeake Bay has been around forever! Well, not literally forever, but long enough to be part of, ya know, America’s founding story. Colonial trade, seafood that fed entire economies, battles fought on its waters... it’s like the Swiss Army knife of bays. What’s San Francisco Bay’s historical claim to fame? Gold rushes and... tech companies?

I don’t know... maybe it’s just me, but it feels like a branding issue. The Chesapeake Bay doesn’t have a slick nickname or a billion-dollar tech sector boosting its visibility. It’s just quietly being the largest bay in the country, doing its thing. And honestly, it deserves more credit.

So, next time someone says “the Bay Area,” maybe stop and think for a second. Are we really talking about the most deserving bay, or are we just going along with what’s trendy? Because, let’s be real, the Chesapeake Bay could eat San Francisco Bay for breakfast and still have room for dessert.

Blue Ivy does not have strong dance skills

Watching her perform on stage, she is so stiff and awkward, she really doesn’t bring a huge stage presence or positive energy. I get that she’s just a young girl, but why put her in this public situation if she’s really not got the skills, it’s nepotism at its absolute worst, because the bottom line is Bey is putting her out there to get slammed. Also, If it’s not nepotism, she’d be at the back, just a regular dancer in with the other line up.

She’s in no way ready to be front and central. Shows you the downside of having too many Industry ‘yes’ people around you.

Nobody is more deserving of a home or apartment because they are "local".

1.8k Upvotes

I live in Maine and this mentality drives me crazy and I know it's like this everywhere.

Somebody posts how nice it is to live somewhere and people always shout something like "Yeah and stop moving here it's making it harder for the locals!"

So what? This is the U.S. where we have a right to move anywhere we want across state lines. You're not any more deserving of a home in town than someone from New York or Texas or whatever.

People move across the globe to give their kids a better life and people in the U.S. get mad when they have to move 20 minutes.

Steve Carrell is a better actor than Leonardo DiCaprio

Carrell has more range and is a more convincing dramatic actor than Leo.

Leo has more star power and Oscar nominations but as a craft, I think Carrell is just simply the better actor. He is more subtle and natural while Leo tends to overact a bit which takes away from his performances.

You need to make your own argument

Don't tell me to do my own research. Don't give a single link with no explanation. Don't assert the conclusion. In fact, doing those things invites intentional misinterpretations.

It's your perspective on an issue, so make your argument. Half of trying to understand other people generally is determine what they value and how it makes sense to them. And if you're not willing to help someone understand you and what you're trying to say, then you've only yourself to blame for the consequent misunderstanding, unnecessary strife, and heartache.

Golf is a game of skill, not a sport.

Golf is not a game that requires any physical prowess. This is why it can be played easily by senior citizens and overweight people. It is no different than billiards, bowling, darts, or any other game of skill. It does not require any physical athleticism or physical dexterity. It doesn't require major strength, cardio-vascular fitness, major flexibility, endurance, but simply hand-eye coordination. I know that there's a semantic definition of what a sport is, and I am not arguing that it doesn't meet the semantic definition that society has made for a sport, but I don't believe that it should be considered a sport alongside others. Phil Mickelson should not be considered "an athlete." He is just a professional golfer.

The hate for musicals is overblown

There's a lot of people that just hate musicals on principle and that would be okay except they actually DON'T. I have friends that will preach at me how terrible musicals are (apparently it's a crime to use music to convey emotion and move the story along), but conveniently will watch almost anything Disney puts out.

Like the bulk of Disney movies (some 80 to 90%) are musicals. Every Disney princess movie save Brave and Raya and The Last Dragon are musicals. Even their most recent "live action" Lion King movie is a musical.

It also doesn't help that sometimes I will show them a musical (Nonsense) movie that they enjoy, but then they still go on to profess that they hate musicals. It's like saying that you hate anchovies but you love cesar salad.

I think what the general public actually hates being lied to about musicals and really bad adaptations. When the Joker 2 was announced people weren't expecting what had been a gritty drama in the first one to turn into a gritty drama musical with Lady Gaga in the second. As for shitty adaptations: Mean Girls the Musical would have probably had a better reception if the lead didn't have such a weak voice therefore forcing everyone else to dim their own vocal abilities.

The gambling industry should have legal protects for customers to protect them from spending too much money.

Before you comment, if you've never been to a casino before, please understand that the majority of customers are elderly, mentally unwell, low iq, and people vulnerable to addiction. The casinos exploit these people specifically.

If you've ever been in a casino, you'll notice tons of older people staring at the slot machines not moving, just spinning and spinning. These people are so addicted that casinos have to replace the seats regularly because people will deficate themselves but won't stop spinning the machines.

There should be consumer protections from luck based gambling like slot machines. Protections such as spending limits on the machines, where the machines get locked out if more then $50 is put in them per hour for example.

Just like how it's illegal to serve drunk people at bars, it should be illegal for a casino to let vulnerable people spend their life savings on slot machines.

Pop-Tarts are a culinary abomination—dry, flavorless crust with a smear of chemical sludge pretending to be filling.

Pop-Tarts are basically just edible cardboard with a thin layer of artificially flavored goo trying to pass as nostalgia. They’re the ultimate “look better than they taste” snack. People defend them like it’s a personal attack on their childhood, but let’s be real—half of them don’t even finish the crusts.

Super Mario Odyssey is the worst Mario platformer

I find the hat mechanics tedious, the level design is all style no substance, and it's almost as obscene of a collectathon than dk64. Every hat form has one move and is extremely temporary and typically only works for one task in one spot. Boring. I hate having to throw the hat for the best jumps, just unnecessarily complicating traversal. I've seen the creators say things about sunshine like "we regret not making this more accessible to people who don't play videogames" and I get why you want pop appeal with your games, I really do.. but Odyssey is what you get with that philosophy, there's no challenge at all. Walk to next moon in silly area, rinse, repeat. the moons are so absurdly plentiful that it isn't fun to collect them and makes even people into that sort of thing not want to bother, what's the point? It had a few cute moments, I didn't hate the boss in the soup bowl and running up the vomit. Didn't hate the T-Rex reveal at the beginning, that was cool. but theming an entire game around hats was a swing and a big fat miss for me. World is the best 2d platformer in the series, sunshine is the best 3d platformer in the series, and thousand year door is the best game Mario has been in, and it's by a country mile.

teens shouldnt be romanticizing psychopaths

i thought it would be common sense to not be attracted to psychopaths, but i still see it happening quite often. many chronically online teens romanticize psychopaths or other kinds of mentally ill people, typically fictional characters.

it also bothers me how i havent seen any media targeted towards teens that demonstrates how terrifying it actually is to be stalked or threatened - things like yandere simulator or the your boyfriend visual novel only serve to worsen the issue by normalizing toxic relationships and downplaying the reality of having a psycho obsessed with you.

i dont understand how the idea of being stalked or threatened is supposed to be attractive, nor why some teens think its so normal to be attracted to. why is this so overlooked??

(not saying this only happens with teens btw, im just saying it happens very commonly within the age group)

The only things that will tell you you're attractive are: 1.) The mirror 2.) Other people

What's up with this recent uprise of "Signs you're attractive" everywhere online?? It's so irritaring and causes people to overrate their own attractiveness level.

If you're truly attractive, you WILL know it, either by looking in the mirror or by other people straight up telling you, literally the world will let you know. Granted there's things such as BDD, but we all have eyes and we're all wired to recognize what's attractive and what's not.

sUbTLe SIgNs are just pure cope and delusion, there's no subtlety when it comes to looks.

Both men and women have it tough.

It annoys me about how often these arguments come up they achieve nothing it's almost always a women claiming that life is a women is hard than a man's. Or a man claiming that life as a man is harder than a women's. But no matter which gender you are you are more inclined to say your gender has it tougher because that's the only way you've lived. A man might not understand a women's pain and think they have a worse and vise versa. These arguments are counterproductive because if you say you have it tougher because you're a man or a women then you're undermining the hardships of the other gender.

A brand new upscale apartment complex that advertises as a “Luxury Apartment” shouldn’t offer subsidized units.

My brand-new apartment that just finished being built and started leasing this past April has started to care less and less about the cleanliness and functionality of amenities and even simple things such as working exterior building doors.

A few months after the grand opening, they started offering units that have an income restriction/cap (subsidized housing), and now there is vandalism in the stairwells, trash left inside and outside of the building, loud, rowdy, and inconsiderate people in the hallways and common areas, and package theft from inside our locked and surveilled package room.

I am aware of the tax benefits the property owner receives by offering income-restricted units. However, I’m of the opinion that if you earn a low enough income that you require government assistance, anything advertised as luxury should be left out of the question as far as government subsidies go.

Reading a book is different than listening to an audiobook.

They literally use different parts of the brain for understanding. Reading comprehension comes from *reading*, not from *listening*. I'm so tired of people saying they've "read" books when they just listened to an audiobook. When you ask them about any kind of details, they've got nothing - because it isn't the same.

The mypillows are terrible pillows

Back when I had these it was almost impossible to get comfortable. They’re way too bulky and big. I got a regular pillow and it made me realize how much better just a standard pillow is. They don’t fold at all so you pretty much can only sleep on your back. Don’t know why these things are popular

Modern "Bright" (LED/HID) Headlights Are A Good Thing (Mostly)

I am honestly of the belief that modern car headlights (namely HID and LED) are, by in large, a good thing, and that they shouldn’t be outlawed (unlike almost anyone that you would ask). I see/hear all the time that LED/HID headlights are too bright and blind oncoming drivers. There is way more nuance to the conversation of headlights than many people tend to believe.

One of the reasons that people think headlights are too bright is because most people don’t know how to properly aim their headlights. The rule of thumb is that at 25 feet away, your headlights’ beam should be three inches below where the source of the light is if you’re aiming an SUV/truck with stock suspension height. For cars, the ideal measurement should be two inches below the beam source at 25 feet.

Another reason that people believe that headlights are too bright is because of the sociopaths that place LED or HID headlight systems in housings meant only for halogen bulbs. Halogen housings are meant to only take halogen bulbs and nothing else. If you were to take an LED or HID bulb and place it in a reflector housing designed for halogen bulbs, this will result in glare in basically every case. Some people make the case that Morimoto 2Stroke LED bulbs are the only bulbs that don’t do this, but I’ve seen plenty of cases where excessive glare is still present with the bulb “properly” installed and clocked to the “correct” angle. HID bulbs belong in a PROJECTOR housing designed specifically for HID bulbs. LED bulbs are only okay in high beams (to be used with no oncoming traffic) and nothing more.

Projector headlights, by in large, don’t provide an excessive amount of glare to oncoming drivers because of the shields built in to them, which results in a “cut-off” pattern. Directly beneath the cut-off should be where the “hotspot” resides if the headlight is designed correctly. HOWEVER, some automakers do have cars with excessive amounts of glare, but that is not directly correlated to the headlight technology itself; it’s correlated to the headlight design being insufficient at reducing glare to those in front of you. Mind you, ALL headlights are supposed to have a small amount of glare above the cutoff line of a headlight’s beam pattern; what causes this specifically in a projector housing is called a “squirrel spotter”. A projector headlight (what most modern headlights have) is specifically designed to provide a good spread of light with a good cutoff to reduce glare. You can also be blinded by modern headlights if the headlights are aimed above you when approaching a hill, for example

If you are blinded by modern headlights, it is likely because of:

A.      Bulbs placed in improper housings

B.      Improperly aimed headlights

C.      At a point in the terrain where the oncoming person’s headlights are aimed above you

D.      Factory headlights having too much glare (not impossible, but is blamed much more than all the other reasons I’ve mentioned)

I do have one complaint about modern headlights specific to LEDs (not LED bulbs)—they aren’t replaceable. Every modern car with LED headlights lacks a bulb to emit the light, meaning that if a LED chip in your headlight burns out, there is no bulb to replace; the entire headlight assembly has to be replaced, which costs hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars that could have been avoided if the manufacturer instead chose to go with HID headlights. HID headlights are replaceable/serviceable, while LEDs aren’t.

Overall, modern LED/HID headlights are a good thing because they help see farther down the road with more intensity with where the beam is placed. This helps people drive more confidently at night, especially those with impaired vision. It also helps with reaction times for those unexpected instances of objects unseen at night.
