the matpat photo where he has his head on his hand, he uses that photo in almost every single video, to the point where the original photo looks photoshopped
I've heard of him (never seen the game theory/film theory stuff) but I was saying that it's very plausible that people do not know who he is. I've never seen his picture for example.
No which I think I made clear in my "I don't think you should assume everyone has heard of everything you've heard of" comment that is further up. But I understand reading comprehension is a bit hard for people.
I mean, he has ~43 million subs between his main channels, and most people who aren’t subscribed to him at least know of him, so it’s safe to assume that most people (especially on Reddit) would know who ‘matpat’ is.
Emphasis mine. If even 2 channels, that could be 21.5 million people who subbed twice. Three channels, we're talking 14.3 million people subbed thrice... And don't forget to discount the bots.
To an NFL fan, MatPat sounds like the nickname to Matt Patricia who was a coach for the New England Patriots and had a stint as headcoach to Detroit Lions and I don't know where he is now. But that is always who pops into my head when someone says MatPat.
My feelings are fine, just seemed to me like you got peeved people were discussing somebody you didn't know about. "I think maybe you guys think everybody knows who MatPat is?" Did you expect him to give you a whole history deep dive or something?
My response was just "not everyone knows every online dude" and you guys are still replying to it getting mad like it's some huge insult. It's okay reading comprehension can be hard online.
