Discussion Show theft in masjid

My Husband’s shoes were stolen from the local Masjid today at Friday prayer. I tried to console him that the person may have accidentally taken his shoes, but my Mom told me it’s commonplace in Pakistan to have shoes stolen during prayer. My Husband ended up walking home barefoot, in the rain and cold.

I’m wondering why the Masjid’s in Pakistan haven’t thought of a solution to the shoe theft problem if it’s commonplace there?

People wear to the masjid, what they were wearing to work, or what they were wearing for a business meeting.

We could also look at how what you said as victim shaming.

It’s the same way people question women’s clothing and choices rather than look at the perpetrator.

The responsibilities here is supposed to be on the Mosques, from my perspective. If Mosques are being run on donation, then we need to start asking why, in a Muslim country, Mosques are struggling? We need to look deeper and start asking these questions, because that’s the only way we can begin to make change. Telling people to be “more responsible” won’t change the reality of the Mosques. In fact, it will only encourage more thefts. Why is a Muslim country struggling to run Mosques? This should have been something people should have started to ask from my post. Instead my post got people making personal attacks and pinning the blame on the victim. SubhanAllah.

And if you steal, from a building, like universities, which are public here, there will be consequences.
