Culture / History Lebanon's Struggle: In the Shadow of the Empire

Yo, Lebanon’s the heart of a fractured land, Where the echoes of war still linger in the sand, From the cedars to the mountains, we'll take a stand, But the empire’s grip is tight, got ‘us in demand.

History’s a wound that we try to heal, French Mandate, then the West’s steel, But they never saw us people, the pain we feel, From Beirut’s streets to the southern hills, it’s real.

The civil war’s scars still etched in our soul, Sectarian lines, but we the ones paying the toll, While foreign hands came to take control, Siphoning the riches while we dig the hole.

Zionists in the South, their hands stained with blood, Palestinians gettin' eviscerated, caught in the flood, Assad's regime has fallen, now al Nusra’s on the rise, Sullivan e-mailed Clinton, said AQ in Syria is on US's side.

Now look at the scene, Lebanon's torn at the seams, A small piece of land, but they’re chasing big dreams, The U.S. backs Israel, that’s part of the scheme, While Hezbollah’s resistance is more than a meme.

The Cedar Revolution, we thought we were free, But the West pulled strings, they never let us be, Iran’s influence, still pulling the fee, Every faction’s a pawn in this geopolitical spree.

The IMF’s in the game, they want to privatize, Selling off the country while the people die, The banks offshored the money, let the people cry, Lebanon’s dollar debt was a bomb, ticking ‘til the sky.

But we rose up, on October 17, We were tired of the corruption, the broken regime, We wanted a new Lebanon, not the puppet masters’ scheme, A nation united, where we tried to redeem.

From the 1982 invasion to blowing up the Port sky-high, They tried to break Lebanon, but we never die, The spirit of the people’s strong, it won’t comply, We're caught in the crossfire, but we still reach the sky.

The power plays are endless, they keep us in line, But our heart is a flame that won’t decline, We’ve seen the wars, the sanctions, the strife, But we hold on, we still fight for life.

It’s Lebanon’s struggle, in the shadow of the Empire, We burn for freedom, but the flames get ever higher, From the mountains to the sea, we aspire, But the world’s turning cold, as the truth gets tire.

The West plays games, they control the fire, But Lebanon’s the phoenix, rising from the mire, From the ashes of war, we’ll never retire, We the people stand strong, our will won’t expire.

So when you hear the name, don’t just think of war, Think of the resilience that’s worth fighting for, Lebanon’s struggle is a battle for the core, The people’s freedom’s a future we’ll restore.

Culture / History Lebanon isn't conservative NSFW

I don't know why guys believe girls are conservative. I have no idea how they got that mentally. I too believed it until I'm 26 and girls do this stuff to me. When you're 20 no girl will look at you since they're busy getting toyed by mature guys. But when you're 26 you see things for what they are. I want to hear about your experiences. It's not as easy as France for example. French girls get you up in them after 10 minutes of meeting them. But it's not as conservative as people make it out to be. You can expect to meet a girl and after 10 /20 minutes start fooling with her. no down there stuff. I'm interested in your experiences.

Help / Question Has anyone successfully linked their Whish card to their Lebanese PSN account? Or do you still need to buy PSN gift cards separately?

My cards are all from accounts outside Lebanon, so I can't add them to my Lebanese PSN account. I want to be able to renew my season passes and subscriptions automatically without having to buy gift cards and top up my wallet. Does Wish work for that?

Help / Question Looking for an Accountability Partner for Workouts in Beirut (PAID)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for someone to help keep me accountable with my workouts. I can't afford a personal trainer at the moment, but I really need that extra push to stay consistent. Ideally, I'd like to align my workout timings with someone who trains for hypertrophy or just enjoys exercising.

I mostly work on my fitness during the afternoons, and I'm based somewhere around Beirut.

Thanks!

Help / Question I got an offer as a non-paid intern, should I accept?

I'm currently unemployed and urgently needing an income.

I applied for a company and interviewed very well (I think) but they accepted me as intern and not as a normal employee. Even though I have one year of experience and previous internship from university

Problem is the internship is 6 months long with zero pay, not even for transportation. And for 6 days a week, 9 to 5

I feel very concerned about sacrificing my health and mental well-being for such intensive work with no promise of payment and employment. I have debt and medical bills to pay, so I don't have money to sustain myself during internship

Also transportation is VERY difficult for me as I don't have a car. My initial plan was to get hired and get a loan to buy a car but now that's not possible anymore

Help / Question Looking to Volunteer in Lebanon

Merry Christmas and I hope you're all doing well! As part of my personal growth, I’m looking to volunteer in 2025. I’d really appreciate any recommendations, links, or contacts for volunteer opportunities.

I'm passionate about making a difference, and I’m open to various fields such as social causes, environmental, healthcare, or anything that could help people and contribute to a positive impact. If you know any organizations or initiatives that need volunteers, I’d love to hear more about them.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Help / Question Startup not paying my salary part 2

https://www.reddit.com/r/lebanon/s/McwPOKgibE

So, I figured that the company is registered in the UAE, and I tried to issue a complaint to the Labor Advisory Center, but they require an UAE mobile number to be able to file a complaint which I do not have.

So I decided to go on socials and I need your help with this. The company is threatening me with Defamation and law enforcement authorites for criminal prosecution because I said that I will take my rights either ways.

And I'm done tolerating such behavior honestly from spoiled CEOs sitting in Dubai trying to run a company that is obviously going to fail.

Discussion Workers right should be more respected in this country.

After working in Europe, even for sometimes lower salaries, I realized how shit and pathetic the work culture is in Lebanon. From long hours of work, to unpaid or postponed salaries, to not having social security, extra work not being paid, terbi7 jmile, treating people like shit, wasayit shmel yamin. I could write a thesis worth of these issues.

If I get some power in Lebanon, here are the things I would do :

- Every worker should have the schedule assigned in the contract. Both parties have to agree on it. Each extra hour of work not written on the contract should be compensated.

- Each worker should at least get the minimum salary. It should be fixed by the government and adjusted to inflation each year. No slave job should be allowed. If the work is a temporary work (like waiter) they should be also entitled to a minimum hourly wage.

- Each worker cannot be fired without getting compensation. It should be stated in the contract or in the government worker policies. But you cannot fire an employee for no reason and not give him compensation. Trial periods (Where both the employee and employer can terminate the contract without compensation) may be allowed of no more than 3 months, that can be renewed to 6 months if both parties agree.

- In return the worker also can't leave the job after the trial period, without some sort of notice also written and approved in the contract. (No more than three month notice)

- The workplace has to be held accountable for unpaid salaries.

- Sexual, Ethnic, Religious discrimination ideally should not be tolerated under any circumstances.

- Each long contract worker (More than a year) should be entitled to social security.

I am well aware that these laws may have the downside to discourage some business owner. But if you can't adhere to a minimum of workers rights, then you should not be able to open a business.

I am also aware that some if not most of these laws already exist in some sort of form in worker's right in Lebanon. But they are not enforced for some reason.

Enough of being a backwards mazra3a. Let us put effort into building a civilized structure.

Discussion New Crypto Scam in Lebanon $GAPE promoted by a bunch of influencers

This is getting pushed left and right by every low iq influencer in Lebanon. Ignorant people will buy without doing their research. Anyways, if you know people that want or have it let them know.

This is so low effort that they have a chatGPT written description:

GAPE Coin is the ultimate meme coin that combines the strength of apes, the allure of gold, and the fun of the crypto jungle. Built for long-term holders, GAPE symbolizes wealth, resilience, and a community-driven future in the ever-evolving crypto space. Hold GAPE and join the golden evolution!

Top holders equally divided to exit scam with some gradually selling.

https://dexscreener.com/solana/hz6ngpq8umib9fyt2sndhykok9zrwkydpxwj99qvezqj

This scam is brought to you by the guru WKBeast and Ive seen Kimo along others promoting it as “easy money”: https://www.tiktok.com/@kimo_wa/video/7453095878128192784 (Kimo just remoed it)

If any crypto expert can help me find more evidence drop them in the comments.
