Announcement ๐ข "Why Is My Post Not Showing??" - be patient. - REMINDER
we have been receiving a ton of Modmail messages asking us why their content is not showing. so we thought it is prudent to remind people that all content is being manually reviewed by the mod team before being approved. this leads to content being in unseen for a relatively long time.
please, be patient with us, we are a small team of volunteers which means we are not perfect.

Ask The Sub How do you deal with hate comments online?
I have an Israeli flag next to my name on tiktok, so every time I comment on something (even when it's completely unrelated to the conflict) I get a ton of hate comments.
I don't want to take the flag down because I refuse to give them the satisfaction of bullying me into hiding, but on the other hand I'm just so tired of the comments and want to enjoy the internet in peace...

Ask The Sub Are some Israelis louder and more "aggressive" when talking?
I hope this isn't a weird question, I've had a few moments when I was younger where I thought people were being rude and loud to me, but when I realized my dad talks in the same way he said it's common in Israel so I'm curious if that's normal.

Photo/Video ๐ธ Good evening and Feliz 2025 from somewhere in Mexico City ๐ซฐ we are still waiting for them, Aรบn Nos Faltan Cien ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฝ
So, on 2022 I had the incredible chance to apply for a 2 months stay in Israel. What a 180ยฐ change was it to me. I know everything happens for a reason and with all anav I can possibly take, living those two months exactly one year before 7 Oct happened has made me question so much stuff, and get braveness to stand up for Israel when I'm the only one in the room who does, and also to be empathetic enough to listen to people coming with genuine worry about kids and vulnerable people. I'm the last person with a right to say anything on behalf of you guys, but I've tried the best I can bc Shema
Thank you, gracias

Ask The Sub How to spend $50 in Haifa?
Hi, Iโm an international student planning to move to Haifa soon. In my monthly budget planning, I kinda have like extra 50 dollars every month. Please give some ideas on what can i spend it on in Haifa?
Edit : I shouldโve mentioned this before, my budget planning includes $500 of emergency funds. This $50 is for anything that I can spend mindlessly on.

Ask The Sub Qualifying quiz
I keep thinking about how periodically I read a book or two on the history of the conflict and have done for 20 years or so. Iโm always surprised by how little I know and how much there is to know about everything that happened. Especially if youโre not from the region.
I was thinking, how many people who know very little about this topic talk about it.
If you were going to design a qualifying quiz for people to see whether they were even knowledgeable enough to talk about the situation, what questions would you include?
For me, I was thinking along the lines of why is the West Bank called the West Bank? What percentage of Israelโs population is Muslim? And maybe how many refugee agencies does the UN have?
be interested to hear your thoughts.

Ask The Sub Eilat hotel with swim up rooms?
Years and years ago, I stayed in a hotel in Eilat where the room opened up directly into the pool via a deck in the back of the room. I can't remember what the name of the hotel was though. Do any of those types still exist? If so, which ones?

Ask The Sub Israel Consulate NYC
I've gotten an Israeli visa earlier this year that expired and I tried to go onto their website a couple weeks ago to book a visa appointment at the consulate in New York but nothing was available. I checked again this morning to see if they released new dates, and it shows the same. Does anyone know if they do walk ins or whats going on and what I should do? My trip to Israel is on Jan 7th and I already bought non-refundable tickets๐ญ
