Announcement ๐Ÿ“ข "Why Is My Post Not Showing??" - be patient. - REMINDER

we have been receiving a ton of Modmail messages asking us why their content is not showing. so we thought it is prudent to remind people that all content is being manually reviewed by the mod team before being approved. this leads to content being in unseen for a relatively long time.

please, be patient with us, we are a small team of volunteers which means we are not perfect.

So, on 2022 I had the incredible chance to apply for a 2 months stay in Israel. What a 180ยฐ change was it to me. I know everything happens for a reason and with all anav I can possibly take, living those two months exactly one year before 7 Oct happened has made me question so much stuff, and get braveness to stand up for Israel when I'm the only one in the room who does, and also to be empathetic enough to listen to people coming with genuine worry about kids and vulnerable people. I'm the last person with a right to say anything on behalf of you guys, but I've tried the best I can bc Shema

Thank you, gracias

General News/Politics They Told Me To Hate You, But I Donโ€™t..

Iโ€™m not sure if I should say this or not, but I just kinda feel like venting.

So yeah, I was born and raised in the Middle East (as an Arab), and you can probably guess how Israel is perceived here. People are always told that Israelis are the enemy, the bad guys, all that stuff. But honestly, Iโ€™ve never really seen it that way. It feels like most people are just blindly repeating what their grandparents said without even trying to be fair or think for themselves.

What bothers me is the thought that Israelis might think we all see them as enemies, which just ends up creating mutual hatred. And yeah, to be real, the majority of people where I live probably would hate you just for being Israeli. Some might even hurt you. But thatโ€™s not me. Iโ€™ve always wanted to visit Israel someday and maybe even make some friends there.

I avoid talking about this stuff, though, because I donโ€™t want to be called a Zionist or have people attack me for not agreeing with the mainstream views here. Itโ€™s scary. I usually just keep my thoughts to myself or, at most, share them with close friends. But even then, itโ€™s risky.

Anyway, I guess what Iโ€™m trying to say is, if you feel like youโ€™re hated by everyone in the Middle East, just know thatโ€™s not true. There are people like me who donโ€™t see you that way weโ€™re just too scared to speak up most of the time.

Oh, and Iโ€™m learning Hebrew, just in case I ever get the chance to visit or connect with you guys one day.

The War - Discussion Santa commercial about hostages

Watching the Die Hard series on Disney+ and every commercial break is running a commercial featuring a letter from an Israeli child to Santa Claus describing what happened on October 7th and asking for Santaโ€™s help to bring the childโ€™s father home from Gaza, and ends with a very distraught Santa.

Sad and brutal, but hopefully the message will sink in with anyone watching so theyโ€™ll pressure their political representatives to support and assist Israel. ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

ETA: Israel created and is running the ad on an American app, so the marketing team is clearly trying to use the dominant holiday here to reach a specific audience.

Firstly, chag Hanukkah sameach!

Secondly, I'm looking to buy this book and was hoping that someone here might be able to be of assistance since I'm stuck in Canada.

I would love a copy because my Safta has a recipe and full page photo in the book.

If anyone might have suggestions or a means to help, I would forever be in gratitude.
