Suggested Subs

So I pay for Premium. I don’t understand why I subscribe to a large amount of subs, yet Reddit feels like I need to see more suggested subs I do not follow more than I need to see the subs I actually DO follow.

I don’t care about the Millennial sub, the Little House on the Prairie sub, the sub for therapists or for teachers or any of the dumb suggestions I am shown.

“You showed interest in TV, so here is a sub about people talking about LHOTP! You will love it!” “You are Gen X so you MUST want to see the Millennial sub instead of the Gen X sub, right?” “Ah, we see you like cats! Here is the cat sub where they talk about how their treasured cats have passed away! Fun, right?”

Why?

I have to specifically hide these subs to make them stop showing up over and over? It’s really frustrating. If I wanted to read about how annoyed therapists are with people who seek therapy, for instance, I would subscribe.

Is there a way to make Reddit only show me subs I subscribe to? What more do they want from me?

Aren't gold upvotes the awards now? I'm confused about this too.

If it’s something I can give to someone without additional payment like the awards were, I don’t know how to do it. I did see a gold upvote somewhere but only once.

Yeah I guess Reddit wants someone else’s mo eh instead of mine because i don’t plan on keeping my premium. Taking away awards took away some joy from me and im not ever gonna be over it.
