About 40-50% of the cars we passed on the road today had no headlights on or only had the dim side lights. Do automatic lights not work in fog for these modern cars? Seems super sketchy

When out to my car to go pick up groceries and noticed this! I work from home and barely drive my car unless it's to do small errands like today. My car is a 2022 Toyota Corolla. No one usually parks next to me either! The only thing I can think is maybe someone delivering food or whathaveyou banged tf out of it, but it also looks like it's starting to happen on the other side! No other issues or damage that I can tell! I'm so confused.

I painted my engine with color matched paint from napa in October(60-70 fahrenheit) and I can still dent it with my thumb. Any tips on how I should proceed. (The tape has been removed, this is an old picture)

I have an Amt 1.0L 2019 Renault Kwid. This problem happens sometimes randomly not more than 4-5 mins after starting the car(if at all the car decides to do this), the car decides to suddenly not engage gears and stay in neutral forever leaving me stranded, coasting in the middle of the road as I try to use the car's momentom to pull over to the side of the road whenever this happens. Sometimes I am in the middle of an intersection and cause a traffic jam of 4-5 People that start honking at me.

This problem has an easy fix(according to my mechanic) that just asks me to disconnect one terminal of the battery and reconnect it after 30s and that does the trick.

I have tried changing the gearbox fluid or liquid or something and that didn't work

Does anyone know a permanent solution?

Made this hot mess trying to pull a dent out myself, Left hot glue from when trying to use hot glue method from outside then when i started banging from inside i noticed the paint was chipping and with the hot glue it will chip more when i take it off. How can i take off hot glue without furthering worsen chip damage

So I intended to get my sister in law an adapter for apple carplay in her newly purchased 2018 NX300. In researching that, I found that the integrated infotainment system could be updated to have Carplay natively with a software update.

I first tried the software update 17LDL1NA-EB02 from lexus.com to see if that would contain the Carplay update but it did not. However, I had no issues with the system functioning on this software.

I then tried the process HERE. I formatted my 8gb flash drive to FAT32, extracted the 2018 NX300 compressed download to the freshly formatted flash drive, put that in the vehicle, turned it on, went to "software update" in the vehicle settings menu, and got this issue during the install. For reference, the contents of the flash drive looked like this

"No new software or the media is not inserted" appeared after downloading 1-4 of 4.

After turning off the car and disconnecting the battery for an hour, I got "Unable to update the software. Please try again later."

I attempted to set it back to the software provided by Lexus that had worked before the update (you know, the insurance I thought I had to try something with a car I don't own) and it says "software is incompatible".

The car starts, runs and drives fine. HVAC works as expected. But the infotainment screen just sticks at "there is no new software or the media is not inserted" and won't go to the home screen. So no radio, no nothing on the screen.

I will personally send $20 to anyone who can get me out of this mess. Thank you in advance.

Now, after considering, some ideas I have had are air ag cover clips, the right around fo d overdrive buttons, the caps on the seat-rail ends, front grab bar screw covers, and a few over single-cast plastic items which sure contribute to the overall asthetic of your vehicle. I want to hear the story of how you found out you needed it! We're you straining to remove a head bolt and snapped a fuel return clip? Did it go flying across that shop? Did you make a impromptu fireworks display out of a multimeter? Does this piece frequently run away? Are they overpriced lug nut caps, and you "JUST" want to get them at a discount. Remember, if your item is selected for sale, you get a free one! Any suggestions?

So I decided to re-apply some clear coat at my headlights which are now getting a little yellow.

And my question is: do I need to wet sand again? Or can I just use a polisher+ compound and then clear coat into the headlight?

I have a 2016 Ford Explorer limited that is leaking oil. It doesn’t look like it’s leaking from the oil pan or the filter from my own inspection. No warning lights have turned on. I have checked the transmission fluid as well but it looks to be oil leaking somewhere from the engine block.

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for anyone who may take the time to read this. I am the owner of a 1998 honda civic coupe with a standard transmission. The car has been great for me overall, but a few winters ago it started having problems starting in the cold. Basically, after a cold night it simply won't start in the morning. The starter just cranks and cranks but no start, though sometimes it seems like it is just about to start but doesn't, and occasionally if the ambient temperature is just above freezing it will start but after cranking for a long time and barely getting there. I usually turn the key to on the position and let the fuel pump prime a few times just to make sure the pressure is building enough and it does make the sound to indicate that the fuel pump is working.

Once the car is started for the day it usually does fine for the rest of the day no matter how cold it gets. Also if I go out and start the car and let it idle for a bit just before bed and get up early and start it first thing, it can also be ok provided it wasn't extremely cold that night. I have gotten around this previously by leaving it in the garage, but that isn't a great option because my dad keeps his classic cars in the garage and there isn't a good place for them outside now that one of them has finally gotten back from a long stay in the workshop.

I have already replaced the engine coolant temperature sensor and also checked that it works by using the OBDII. I have also checked the head gasket with the autozone tester loan thing with the blue liquid and it indicated no exhaust in the coolant. Other than this problem, the engine has occasional misfires upon startup at all times of the year and the check engine light often remains on due to that, but that has been going on for at least 15,000 miles and seems not to be a huge deal. In the summer or in any temperature above 40 degrees the car starts up fine and works well. At the moment I have a run a light bulb on an extension chord under the hood to see if that can warm it up to see if that is a simple solution, but yeah I would really like to know what is going on and if anyone has any ideas about what could be happening.

What’s a better investment my 2005 Toyota Camry all updated about 146000 miles but needs a new catalytic thing but I know people who can fix it

Or my sisters 2009 Kia Soul with everything updated as well and 100000 miles.

I’ve always heard great things about Toyotas and love my Toyota so much but my family are telling me I’ll be missing out if I don’t take the chance to take her car before she chooses to sell it. What do you car people think?

About 5 months ago, I bought a salvage title car, (e85 bmw z4), from someone locally. He didn't know why it was salvage, says it ran great. I got an inspection, and everything seemed fine. Looking up the carfax, it's supposedly a salvage due to vandalism. Anyways I bought the car, and apart from some general maintenance there have been no problems so far. I decided to try to trace it's history, and so reached back out to the seller. I discovered that he purchased the vehicle off copart. Using autoauctionhistory.com, I got a auction report. According to the report, the damage was from vandalism. There are a couple pictures, but they must be from after repairs because nothing is amiss. However, the repair price is listed at almost 15,000 dollars. Almost the same as the listed value of the vehicle. Contacting copart directly, they refuse to put me into contact with the seller because I am not a member. If there are no problems so far, it seems like the car was repaired well. However, how could they have sold the car at half the declared repair cost? Something seems off. Any suggestions? How could i reach the seller? Do you think the car is fine if it's been 5 months without problems?

Ive a 2011 prius in New Jersey. I just got in to accident and insurance said my car is total loss and giving me $4000. They said if i want i can pay $750 to them and keep the car. They also said since my car is older than 8 year it will remain clean title? Is that correct? I see online people saying ill need to register as salvage etc. But insurance says 8 y older NJ doesnt require a new title.

I was doing uber with the car. Since its clean title would i be able to do that? I just need to put new bumper and grills. But idk if it would be hard to sell in future or higher insurance numbers and many paperwork and repair.

Hi guys, I had a short drive at night yesterday and hit a nasty deep pothole (there were no warning signs) for the first time. The car made sort of a painful metal scratching sound, so I immediately stopped and put my hazard lights on and got out to look. I have very little knowledge about cars but everything looked ok, no visible damage or deformities. I drove to my destination and didn't notice any new sounds, vibrations, etc. Do I need to go to a mechanic to take a look and check whether the car's ok or should I just wait and see if anything feels off?

I'm from Spain and just finished paying off a 2020 Cupra Formentor VZ4.

The warranty has also recently expired so I though't I'd treat myself to a few mods, mainly having in mind an engine remap done by a company here as well as an air filter swap.

The issue is that I'm not familiar with air filters or what impact such would have with a 4cyl turbocharged engine such as the one you find in mine, golf R, Audi R3 etc...

From what I can see being sold from legit retailers here, its mainly "K&N" filters both in box & cone configurations.

Any insight on this would be much appreciated!

So I'm having an issue with my 2015 Malibu. I've got a check engine light so I'm going to get the codes later today but I wanted your guys' opinions in the meantime. Also, I drove it into work today, about a 35 minute drive, and had no issues, so I don't know if I should be imminently concerned or not.

Yesterday, the temperature gauge stopped detecting engine temp, and when I got home the radiator fan was blowing for a while after I shut my car off, which it pretty much never does, even on a hot day.

It did the same thing this morning after driving it to work, and the check engine light came on today. I turned off the car and let it sit for about an hour last night, then turned it on and off again, and the fan blew again.

So I don't think it's overheating, I suspect it's a sensor of some kind. I'm just wondering how concerned I should be, and I plan on getting the codes and trying to fix it after work today

As a side note, I smashed my radiator a year ago, hit a deer at low speed and kind of caved it in, the fan housing is split as well, but it works perfectly fine, fans spin and everything. Haven't seen a coolant leak anywhere. But I really don't think it's overheating so I'm not too worried
