In general is it ok to check out the campus and walk around taking pictures of your friends in front of buildings etc? I was outside campus a while back and it looked so pretty

Don't have many close friends in LA, and my means of transportation are kinda limited. Hence I was wondering if there's any public social event (close to campus) that everyone is aware of? I don't want to celebrate New Year's Eve alone!

I'm also open to any other suggestions as it's my first time without company for New Year's, so I'm not picky ^.

In the USC commercial they show during football games and the like, there's a quick montage and brief mention of USC and "Big ideas" and they flash ChatGPT on the screen. What's the connection between USC/OpenAI? Or is it just attempt to toss in token GenAI and alluded to USC working on "big ideas"?
