Did Luffy come in on the 3rd multipull of the guaranteed legend? I'd perfect if Luffy came in and made a random gold poster a red one instead.

It was the 3rd multi but in this part the 3rd one doesn't give a guaranteed red so he changed a random gold poster. The Luffy Cut-In only happens on the +1 posters it seems

Wow, this is great for double disappointment.
You're "sad" that you got a gold and not a red, then it changes to a red poster and you get hype cause "omg a red!" only for it to be a shit legend you already pulled x times.

Doubt it. Klab had this idea already with Captain Tsubasa's gacha game, where during the multi (shooting 10 balls at the goalkeeper), the color of each ball shows the rarity of the character (like our color of the poster falling down), but while they fly, there's a chance that a ball turns into a rainbow (highest rarity), adding a nice suprise. It litterally adds more suspence to the pulls for normal people. Rerollers having to check is a side-effect.

It happened to me. Pulled 2 Kizaru’s in a row and one gold turned into red just for a third Kizaru to come out... don’t know how I feel about it tbh.

i just did a multi and the poster was red before i seen the last pull but its weird because it was turning red last sec with last multi,maybe it was because i got a dupe

Just realized it's not an all gold seugo. Only all gold multis.... 1st single v2 ray. 2nd hotori and kotori. I think I'm done now.

I got V2 Fuji today in my last desperate single. I was so hype when I got him, he's one of my favorites in the whole game. I had him on my old job account but lost that account when I reset my phone. Backed up my new account, feels good to have him back.

Got 2 of them on my 4th multi, Fuji v2 and Judge, decently satisfied with this sugo, Sanji was the 11th which I had a dupe.

It has an animation when turning into a red so I don't really think they are going to make an animation for a bug

Seems weird, and if they didn't advertise it maybe is some kind of bug... what's the point of showing a gold that turn into a red? I've got reds from my multis, bun none of this 'surprise' ones... I think we'll get some notification soon.

Managing the suspense till the end. When you see a gold poster, you won't know for sure it's a gold until you discover the unit (or get that animation). ;-)

Yes, I understand that, I remember the days when legends where regular gold posters, my point is, why changing it without any advertisement? Seems like a bug or a feature released before time, IMO they should have notified this, mainly for some weird legal reasons, I think.

Technically, all the updates don't mention all the stuff being updated. Example : the "new" icon when you want to evolve a unit you don't own yet, was never mentioned in the update notes. They usually mention the "important" things and leave the rest behind the "other fixes" mention and such.
I could ask you the same about the original red ones : did they mention when they changed from regular gold to red, at that time? Same as for the secret RRs : did they announce/advertise there would be a new animation for those? Nope, it's the kind of nice little updates that they leave for the players to discover by themselves, and they don't have any impact on the game itself.
It's not like you would pull a unit but while showing you that one unit, it would actually be a different one (example : showing a Kuro while in fact, it's a Fujitora). And it's not like there's some random algo that would change your already random pulls (meaning, you would pull certain units but randomly, they could change a unit for another -> that could be a legal problem, eventually).
But here, all your pulls are decided as soon as you press "do the multi". Even if you don't stretch luffy's arm by closing the app, when opening, you'll have all your units in your box already. The fact that there's a different animation has 0 impact on your pulls. Heck, there's no "law" or "rule" in the game saying that all gold posters are 4 or 5*, for example... it's a visual thing that we, players, have noticed and use as a rule of thumb. And in fact, a gold poster can be a fake silver (but since it's a 4*, it's gold)...while technically, all legends are in 5* form, meaning gold as well. Them becoming red was a nice addition to distinguish them better; and now, the addition is simply that they don't necessarily show red at the very start but a bit later.

I understand this, I'm not saying is a bad thing, is a fun mechanic, and I know thant not every single update is advertised in game, but stills seems weird to me having an in-game notification about changing the color pants of the new G4 and not one saying, "hey, be ready to some surprise during your pulls!!!", when they give some hints about changes at TM having only buffs/special stages/etc. that's the only thing I find weird :)

Changing G4's pants is kind of fixing what's not "working" properly; but the new animation is working as it should (and it would be pretty spoiling the surprise if they announced it xD). Kind of like "When you go home today, be ready for some surprise" while it's your birthday... Ruins pretty much the surprise effect. The surprise, by definition...is a surprise; if it's announced, that's not really a surprise (or at least, you can't be surprised anymore : you know there is one, you just don't know what it is).
If I were a developer and developed such a feature, I wouldn't announce it :p It's a hidden pleasant surprise (you assume and expect a 4/5* but you get a 5/6* instead), not a bad thing. And the only change is the way the game announces the results, not the results themselves.

I think I do not like this mechanic.
If you get a dupe legend, you were let down by seeing all golds, get your hopes up seeing the animation, then get disappointed again by it being a dupe.
If you get a new legend, you were disappointed seeing all the golds, which really undercuts the excitement of the change to red. It feels far better to never get that disappointment by just seeing it be red in the first place. That is already the excitement, why trick me about it in the first place?
But that's just my opinion. I guess people disagree with me.

I’m confused. If it’s a dupe, regardless how it is presented to you (red or fake gold>red), you will get that disappointment anyway.

It's worse with the gold>red because you are let down by seeing all golds in the first place with no reds. Your hopes are dashed by the golds, then dashed again when you find out its actually a dupe red.
If it's just a red pull, then you only get crushed once.
It also has the effect of getting hopes up more than normal when seeing golds, because you think they may turn into reds, when that just isn't usually the case. You're almost always disappointed by it. I know this sounds dramatic, but it just seems like a dumb change and I personally don't enjoy it at all.
I'd rather just have it be straightforward. I don't want it toying with me as to whether or not I got a red, it just feels manipulative and needlessly cruel.

On the other hand, if you get gold>red new legend, you get twice the excitement.
Basically, there’re two sides of the coin, depending on how you look at it. If you look at a half glass of milk, is it half empty or half full?

I don't see double excitement. Gold>red new legend is the same as just red new legend, only you were tricked into thinking you didn't get one first.
I just don't see how this mechanic is of any benefit to the player. At its absolute best, it's the same as the normal way with a bit more emotional manipulation thrown on it.

Making it more of an emotional rollercoaster is not a good thing. Gachas are exploitative as hell, and this is another layer of manipulation. It just is simply not good for the player.
I mean, yeah, I'd prefer if there were no animations. I'd prefer if there was no gacha machine at all. I am not seeking the thrill. The difference is those are existing mechanics, this one is new. I'm displeased with the recent change, it's unnecessary and bad.
This is how I view it. You're looking for something different, I guess.

I understand that it is your opinion and entitle to it, but there’re points that i disagree.
Saying the red poster is an existing mechanic and acceptable is very deceptive. In this context, it is an existing feature, but back then when it was released, it was a NEW feature. Would you have disliked it as well?
Then, optc IS a GATCHA game, and if you don’t like the gatcha aspect, you are playing the wrong game. And yea, it is exploitative as hell, but once you agree to play it, you essentially allow them to exploit it anyway.

it is never 2x legend rate. 3 friends got 3 reds inklusive the gtd with 4 pulls each. 9 reds in 12 multis. its a trollfest.
