“The top 200 meters of the ocean are known as the sunlight, or euphotic, zone. Plants, who convert the sun’s energy into food via photosynthesis, form the basis of the food chain at these depths, where there is indeed sunlight. At 200 meters depth, we enter the twilight zone, where light starts to decrease rapidly. Ocean depths greater than 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) are completely devoid of light and photosynthesis does not take place”

I think this is probably the reason Oda picked 200m and why most of it hasn’t been discovered. Pretty cool actually.

the sea level rose 200m, we don't know how much the ancient world sinked

also the land might also sink on top of the sea level rising

since theres a mention of continent destroying ancient weapon, continent sinking isnt that out of the question

Seems the ancient kingdom, which had to be on a large landmass, was sank or destroyed leading to the sea level rise.

That means that at that deep it would have been perfectly fine for a fishman settlement to be made, they would have access to sunlight, since they lie at the very border of the twilight zone
