Maybe that's why Rayleigh learned how to coat ships, since the Roger Pirates might have wanted to explore what lies beneath the sea besides Fish-Man Island.

Also explains why he said he could tell Robin, but she couldn’t do anything. He’s been living with the knowledge that the world's sinking for decades, but he can’t do anything about that but coat ships.

Laugh Tale itself might be the deepest point of the sea, which might be why no one's found it so far.

Om Odens flashback, when they reach Laugh Tale, even if we dont see anything we can tell theyre not underwater.

Could be a protected building or something, inside maybe a giant bubble. The old civilization probably had more advanced bubble tech.
