Hi!
Well, the head of this post is pretty self explained, but still I’ll describe the situation VERY thoroughly for those who stumbled upon this thread.
Also, sorry for any grammatical mistakes in advance — I’m sick as hell and kinda emotional right now.
So, here the story goes. FTM, 23 years old with a degree in pharmacy and, as you could’ve guessed, I’m Russian. And me being trans is a ‘minor’ inconvenience for the government of the country: I’m not allowed to change my documents nor I can legally access my HRT treatment. In fact, I’m kinda close to be forced into correction therapy for my gender identity.
Obviously, I can’t continue living in my country of origin and I’ve decided to try and apply for the student visa in Ireland. From my perspective it’s a perfect fit, considering my degree and passion for pharmacy in general. If someone will ask — yes, I know about many refugee programs, but to participate in them I need at least physically be in Ireland. Plus, I guess here comes my “Russian”mentality. I can’t imagine how some other country would, you know, stand up for me just being queer???
But I genuinely hope that the government of Ireland would do that if I’ll be beneficial in the sense of the economy as a working force. Well, at least I think so (AND if someone here is thinking of this otherwise or they are sure that I’m living in dreamland with this statement, then I’m willing to listen).
And here we come to the title of this thread: if I’d be able to successfully apply for some master program in Ireland, what should I do next to achieve my transition? As far as I know I can’t do anything as a non citizen.
If you know anything about this, could you please share with me? It would be a major help with planning my future further.
