I have a note pinned in my notes app:

Start where you are

Use what you have

Do what you can

Getting back on the horse is the real skill.

Stuff gets in the way, you get blocked, you get sick, you get life. Things happen that will make you pause or quit or delayed. They're inevitable. But as long as you're good at starting again, none of it will ever stop you.

This is why code quality, documentation, notes are NECESSARY life saver. Shit gets in your way/face, you forget about things that were on your head before and it's downhill from there. Once I learned how to use notepads, phone notes and physical notes, I have no issues with getting back to something. It's still not easy to get back to bigger project after extended period of time and you need to do it gradually and relearn a lot.

Thanks for that, I just wrote it down on a notepad!

Sometimes it’s also good to step back, ponder solutions to a problem, and take the time to prepare and execute them. Immediate action for the sake of action isn’t always the best. That’s why we still take our shoes off at some airports.

If it works for you - more power to you. I find that if I overthink something I'm less likely to do it at all. Better to do something than to do nothing. I'm trying to be more impulsive, over typically being very indecisive.

It’s situational. No one way of thinking fits all scenarios.

Simple yet profound. I'll do this too, thanks!
