You'd be amazed how different you and your life could be if you dedicated just one hour to learning or building something for 365 days.

Completely understand. Not being able to work sucks. People don’t realize how much of Americans’ identities revolve around their careers and/or what they do for a living, and when you no longer are able to work, it’s so easy to lose your identity and begin to feel useless/like a burden to those around you.

This isn't really an American problem. It's a societal problem across most of the world. The first thing we do when meeting someone new is ask what they do for employment. As a society, we immediately link someone's identity to their job, which allows us to make a lot of assumptions about them, and their ability to consume. It's wild when you think about it but it's just the way we've learned to think as we've grown up.
