This is such a great idea! Do you need to be a resident of the state in order to send a petition?

Absolutely not. Anmesty International letters, some of the most effective because of their PR machine, come in from all over the world, including very low income countries, for whatever that's worth.

Thanks! I was looking more into this and from what I understand a conviction has to be made before a petition for clemency should be sent? Do you know if we can send petitions now?

Yes, clemency can be granted before even an indictment.
