Some have pointed out that doing this is the only way to retain the money they have already raised for the campaign. Since she was already on the ticket, she gets to inherit those funds. If they went with someone else entirely, that person would be starting with $0

I mean the PAC money will be returned to the PACs then redistributed to whoever wins the nomination. Most of that money is PAC money not grassroots.
