Unfortunately, this country is run by billionaires and their friends. This was a calculated move that allowed “billionaire” democratic donors to pretend they care about the country by pressuring their candidate to step aside “for the good of the people”, while doing something that’s in their best interest—remove the guy who has the best chance to beat the guy who is promising tax cuts for the top 1%.
They get to pretend they care, but benefit from crippling democracy. Win-win for the oligarchy.
