That's what caught me too. The cop said he was "trying to protect lives," meanwhile all he did is kill an innocent one. He's on paid vacation now.

> "His training..."

Police in Austin, Texas require 480 hours of training.

Hairdressers in Texas require 1000 hours of training.

I'm with you. It's widely known (at least outside USA) that cops in USA are way under trained in all areas. (Lacking sufficient training in physical apprehension or “empty hand techniques” that could prevent a loss of life.)

Average hours to train a cop in different countries, just to pick a few:

Finland 5400

Germany 4200

England 2250

USA 650

Even just a fucking cosmetologist or a plumber, takes THOUSANDS of hours (somewhere said over 4k hours) to train. What a joke. "Here, take a weapon and to play a cop. Just shoot someone, you'll do fine."

The target is there regardless. The cops will shoot you for holding a water bottle.

I've seen a comment elsewhere that I think said it best:

If you can be shot by police while open carrying on your own property, you do not actually have the right to bear arms.
