That was an excellent presentation. I didn't realize how systemic corruption has overtaken SCOTUS. Thomas was caught previously.

When I was in business law class in college, the professor, who was a lawyer clearly stated. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse for the court. So, Thomas' assertions that he "asked friends, and collogues" does not pass muster, especially if there's an legal ethics organization that can answer the question.

It’s also hilarious that a Supreme Court Justice would need legal advice that anybody over the age of 12 would be able to figure out on their own.

He didn't ask for legal advice on if he should do it. He asked for advice on if there was any punishment if discovered he was doing it. And as we're seeing, the answer was "nope!"
