What jobs could easily be replaced by machine learning in finance was swiftly done in the 80s, it was one of the first fields where people of course applied it and other algorithmic trading options in the idea of making money. The consistent stream of information and feedback even from earlier times, with solid documentation, gave it a solid base to start with too.
In the end you get some flash crashes occasionnelly and leveraged tools, but the major shifts on that front already happened.
Not to worry about that “junior staff”. There is a reason white collar jobs, specifically finance, have died since early 2023, while the rise of AI has seen billions poured into it….
