As you may have recently heard in the news, the Chagos Islands will now no longer be represented by the Flag of the British Indian Ocean Territory

It's been another fantastic year for vexillography! To wrap up the year, we're having one final voting thread to pick the best flags of the year.
There are 55 flags eligible to be voted on. These flags were selected in two possible ways:
- Top 3 flags in a given month
- The top flag for each of the 30 highest users in the annual standings
The 30 highest users were determined by total score on flags submitted. Each of these flags are truly excellent, and bear in mind the contests they were submitted for.
Since we've published the flag author's earlier in the year, true anonymity isn't a possibility for this contest. We'd encourage you to judge each flag on its merits rather than its author, and while you can look up authors, we will remove comments specifically alluding to them.

Historical Anti racist party uses confederate battle flag NSFW

So there was an anti-racist, socialist party called the Patriot Party in the ‘70s that uses the Confederate battle flag which is quite ironic and interesting tbh. It’s maybe due to its Southern Appalachian members I think?

I was visiting New Orleans, looked up at the first tourist attraction I entered, and met eyes with the stars and bars! I hope this isn’t a common sight for the trip but I’m guessing it will be… I just don’t see what it’s doing in a Catholic Church?

Historical United Farm Workers Flag

Mom remembers flying this flag outside a Grocery in Northern New Mexico in the early 1970s when she was was little. Grandfather was (and still is) always super unloved with activism and my mom jokes about this being one of her earliest memories.
I know someone else recently posted another UFW flag, but that one didn’t have the lettering I don’t think. Not sure what the bottom 6 letters stand for.
