Gotta turn on the blower for at least five minutes before firing up that engine.

Are you telling me that when starting a boat there's a step you must follow or else everything just explodes?

Not a guarantee, but definitely a possibility. Gas fumes can collect in the hull around the engine and ignite when the engine starts. All boats like this have a blower fan to run before you start the engine to mitigate that risk.

Even more so here because they are at a fuel dock. So likely just fueled up, didn't turn on blower fan. Pretty much very video I've seen has been at a fuel dock, maybe that has more to do with camera's being a fuel docks, but seems like a relevant correlation.
