Dexter: Original Sin
Has anyone watched Dexter: Original Sin yet? I would like to commend the actors who portray Dexter, Batista, and Debra! These actors have done a marvelous job protraying the original actors/characters with their looks and mannerisms! Having been a huge fan of Dexter, I am acutely aware of each character's idiosyncrasies and these actors have done a remarkable job! Thoughts?

Rewatching The Wire for the Nth Time
The opening scene of this show is perfection in terms of letting you know what you’re getting into. McNulty is chilling on the curb talking to the friend of Snotboogie while crime scene people del with his corpse. He’s trying to figure out why the guy got shot and the reason baffles McNulty. I’ve never really noticed how good it was until this time and I love the logic behind always letting Snotboogie play.

What is one thing that bugged you or drove you crazy about one of your favorite shows?
For me, I loved Covert Affairs, but it drove me crazy that they had Piper Perabo chasing the bad guys in 4-inch heels.

Who is your all-time favorite character from any show and why?
I’d say Ragnar Lothbrok easily. No character has ever left an impact on me like Ragnar did in Vikings. His journey from farmer to king, driven by ambition and curiosity, along with his philosophy and desire to explore new lands and learn about other religions. There are many incredibly well written and performed characters, but Ragnar to me is just special. I don’t think there will ever be a character quite like him again.
Who’s yours?

Out of all the possible amazing stories that could be told, why is Marvel making bizarre uninteresting What If episodes??
Seriously I could think of at least 50 crazy good storylines that they could make episodes about but instead they’re making weird and boring stories literally no one would possibly ask for… Like Howard the duck and Darcy having a kid? Agatha and Kingo in Hollywood? Even coming up with an original character in season 2 that literally no one wanted.

Unlikable Main Characters
Is there a main character more unlikable than Katie Otto in American Housewife? Everything she does is self indulgent and there is never any growth with her character.
I’m interested in your opinions.

Law and Order Season 24-When does it come back
After some digging I learned SVU is coming back on in mid January but I can't find anything about when L&O season 24 is returning. It's weird that Peacock offers no explanation when new episodes just stop.

A.P. Bio Opening Credits Pet Peeve
I know A.P. Bio was cancelled a few years ago, but I'm just seeing it now. This has nothing to do with the show itself, and only with an annoyance I have with the opening credits that look like an AP Bio textbook.
The pictures don't match the text! The first credit shows some insects (butterfly, beetles, etc.) in glass, but the paragraph of text is talking about plant cells and photosynthesis. Weirdly, the image caption is of butterfly genera and species, but not of the butterfly that's in the image. The next credit has text talking about dinosaur fossils, with a picture of 3 potted plants. The next one talks about genes and has a picture of potted plants (this one's fine I guess). Then there's one talking about nerve cells with a picture of a potted plant. Why wouldn't they use one of the three pictures of plants with the text that's talking about plants?
I'm a biology nerd so I geek out on this kind of stuff, and it bothers me every time the intro plays. I guess the teacher wouldn't want any AP Bio learning so its pointing to that? Probably it's just that they just put it together, and its not a bio class it's a TV show, and not a particularly realistic one. But why wouldn't they just put an image of what the text is talking about? I feel like I'm one of the class's students and the show is making fun of me for wanting to learn biology

Cobra Kai season 6 kind of sucks - no conflict and spinning its wheels (spoilers) Spoiler
So I posted yesterday about how pumped I was to discover there were 10 episodes out of Cobra Kai season 6 but that the crumby release schedule must have killed all the hype.
So I started watching all excited, grinning ear to ear to see all these characters once again. The stakes got really high in season 5, and it was nice to see the show chill out, breathe, and show the characters getting on with their lives.
But I'm three episodes in and there's zero conflict and it feels like it's spinning it wheels. There's no engaging drama.
Johnny has knocked up Miguel's mum, and they need a new home to house the growing family. But Miguel also needs to go to uni. Within minutes, Johnny finds a prospective landlord and gets a job at Daniel's car shop.
The show then strives to show how nice and made up the characters are.
Tory and Samantha become friends straight away. And we even get a whole storyline where the bully characters are now nice and settling into uni life. Also the Kenny drama gets wrapped up really neatly as well. It's all just settled super quick.
I'll be honest, the kid drama never interested me as much....but it's all just so overly wholesome and cute. I love how cheesy this show is but it's become a non-stop cheese fest.
Johnny organises a girls sleep over to try and make Tory and Samantha enemies again. That alone is such a dumb creepy plotline.
Daniel, his hot wife and Chosen find a secret hatch in Mr Miyagi's bed. As if he'd never looked under the bed before.
Even the karate group is kind of lame now. Stingray was willing Johnny to make them Cobra Kai again. And I couldn't have been the only fan shouting at the screen 'Johnny, do it you pussy!' (I woke up my neighbours).
But no they're all in white Jesus-esque karate robes and fighting under the name Miyagi Do. The most boring option. Is this what the writers think fans want?!
I like the stuff with Creese so far, and how Cobra Kai is actually some ancient karate group in Korea (?) and he actually has to get bitten by a cobra, battle his demons, and then chop its head off as a right of passage. The right sort of bonkers.
I can't be only person who feels like this? This part of the reason there's been such little buzz?
Please tell me it picks up!!! (And I really hope the main group becomes Cobra Kai once again, like goddamnit writers, Johnny was badass in first season as the CK sensei)

I wish I could watch infinite episodes of my favorite shows.
I wish I could just suddenly summon an infinite amount of episodes for all the shows I love. They just keep on going. And I don't mean like AI created it but like magically there's just more episodes I can watch forever. Like the actual writers and actors, etc made it themselves. Just as many as I want.
I mean obviously I would have it go to a natural conclusion so it has an ending but then the future episodes would be after the ending. Like I'm able to watch what happened after the finale when normally we have to imagine what happens. I would do this so that there's a full series thats whole but I still get new episodes forever.
Like for example I just recently finished Malcolm in the Middle and it's become one of my favorite comedies of all time. I know there's a 4 episode revival coming out soon but that's like set 20 years after the finale. I wish I could watch all of Malcolm and when I finish the series I could just continue watching the episodes and then see what happens next. I want to see Malcolm in his college years and how he and his family are doing during those times. How close they stay together, if Malcolm is serious about becoming president and mostly just to see the antics he gets into during college. The original series was seeing him grow up, I would love to see a series of him maturing as an adult at Harvard while also dealing with his family. But the revival is set 20 years later so we will see him and the rest of the cast much older.
That's just an example of why I wish this. I just want to watch more and more episodes and never have it end. I hate rewatches bc I want to see what happens next, not watch what already happened. At this point I don't even care if it's "bad" or not as funny, I really just want to see the characters and storylines they make. It's a comfort thing.

Which multiple seasons shows have you binge watched in 2024?
I usually do not binge watch shows who have already multiple seasons and episodes because I watch plenty of ongoing shows so I do not have always the time but
This year I have watched all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad and Prison Break. Both great shows even tho PB annoyed me at some point.
Last year my marathons were Shameless and Justified. Lost is probably next on my list for 2025 What about you?

Why does Netflix still have such a stronghold over streaming?
It seems like in 2022, the winds started blowing a bit in the direction of other streamers, but that quickly reversed course. Netflix still has dominance over streaming. What makes that so? For instance, The Office is not a big hit on Peacock, but on Netflix it was. It doesn't seem like people as a whole jump to whatever service has something, but are very loyal to Netflix.

Squid Games Season 2 Dub
Has anyone else noticed that in the second season of squid games the lips match up with the English words being said when set to English, and the lips match up with the Korean words being said when set to Korean? How did they do this? Did they use AI to change the lip movements to match the English dub?
