Question Racing seat for Dorito lovers
I’m looking for advice or for you to share your experience with racing seats for ‘big guys’.
So in a couple of weeks I’m picking up an F-GT Elite frame from NLR. I’m what Jeremy Clarkson would call ‘generously proportioned’. So I was just wondering if anyone ‘this side of a new years resolution’ has experience with seats for aluminum profile rigs that would suit a fellow Dorito enthusiast.
I don’t mind having a bit of recline but would prefer a fixed back seat to avoid flex when using my load cell pedals.
I primary drive GT3 but am wanting to diversify for F1, drift, rally and street driving as I continue to buy into the Moza ecosystem.
I have sat in the ‘Exodus Aero’ and quite enjoyed the comfort level. However, I don’t want to write off the ES1 if anyone with a similar physique to me has used it with good experiences.
(And yes I’m getting help to work on achieving a healthy body weight but want to be able to enjoy sim racing as I am now; can always buy a thinner seat later).

I'm somewhere in the 40-42 inch waist range. The NRG FRP-301 fits well, it was a little snug initially but after a few hours of use the foam breaks in and it's now comfortable for hours at a time.
46 might be pushing it though.

This is “Engineered for bigger drivers”

Bigger is of course subjective. Maybe give them a call and find out more

Fellow chunky racer here. I can recommend the OMP TRS-E XL.

This might be slight overkill but since I do have a WRX STI IRL, which I’ve been slowly building for the track, you’ve done me a solid still as this seems like a great option for my actual car.
Being FIA approved is a huge plus.

Being FIA approved is a huge plus.
In case anybody refers to my rig as a toy, I point to the FIA hologram sticker and calmly say "No."
Jokes aside, I paid €297 (including tax) for it, which puts the seat in the rather affordable range of sim related seats, so I do think it's not really that much of an overkill.

I think especially for adjustability, an old seat from an actual car would be your best bet. They're surprisingly easy to mount to profile cockpits if you find one with flat seat rails, and at any yard they're less than $100
