We are 100,000 strong!!

Thank you to everyone, all my moderators from the past, and everyone who joins this sub. This is more than another cat sub, it's a safe space of support.

That is really incredible to hear. I'm active in dozens of Reddit communities but this sub is the most special to me. I appreciate how kind, loving, respectful and supportive we are to each other. More and more people are finding out just how special it is to have a senior kitty or 2.

It means so much that you feel that way because that's why I made this place all these years ago.

Hello I just joined to tell all the kitties that are not getting enough attention that I love them. That is all.

I see some (a small minority) people on other cat subs complain about posts of kitties passing away making them sad and that they shouldn't be there. I don't get it. Death is the most certain thing about life. If someone's furry child died, where do you think they're gonna find any support? If they're in pain they'd expect to find support in those very subs where they used to share them when they were alive, wouldn't they?

All this is to say that this sub has always been unconditionally and incredibly loving and caring toward folks whose fur babies passed away. And I really appreciate the mods for keeping it running like this. Like your post says, "it's a safe place for support.". People on other subs are very supportive too, I'm not suggesting otherwise at all, but every now and then a few people just act a little weird is all.

Congratulations on 100k strong! I'm very happy and proud to be a part of this sub. Seniority is when cats are most likely to really need their hoomans to care for them (just like it is with humans) and this sub celebrates that, which is lovely.
