I want to start off by saying in case Kyle sees this that as of yet, I have no intention of boycotting his channel or Krystal Kyle & Friends; at this point, he is one of the few news sources I trust and to one day be a guest on KKF would be a tremendous honor. That said, I feel the need to say my piece. Let me be clear that I am not someone who will defend Cenk or anyone else at TYT without exception. On the contrary, I have found myself on multiple occasions taking issue with what has been said on the network. To name a few examples, I have disagreed markedly with: Cenk defending Chanel for refusing to sell to Russian people—how TF that's supposed to deter Putin, I haven't the foggiest—Rashad Richey's Russophobic Olympics tirade and Cenk's insistence on heralding Trump's "bravery" in the face of the supposed assassination attempt on his life. Even in this area, I think Cenk is wrong for trying to reach out to MAGA vermin, as the vast majority of people over the age of 25 or so who still support Trump at this point in my view are, for all intents and purposes, a lost cause. I rarely watch TYT anymore and my gripe lies not with disagreement with its hosts, but rather the implications of Kyle's response.
For years, Kyle has fancied himself as being above the fray of various BreadTube conflicts. Whilst his peers have engaged in petty squabbles akin to middle school drama, he has always recused himself from such balderdash. To now see him produce an hour long video covering Cenk's speaking slot at AmericaFest 2024 is disheartening to say the least. As I previously alluded to, Kyle is among a handful of sources I am willing to listen to in large part because he has refrained from the playground meltdowns that have taken over so many channels. Politics is one of if not the single most serious subject on the planet because people's lives are at stake. For political discussion to take a backseat to 'he said, she said', TMZ poppycock is not only obnoxious but dangerous. Furthermore, if one's goal is to dissuade people from agreeing with TYT or anyone else on any particular topic, elevating their message by dedicating so much time to crying about it is intensely counterproductive to say the least.
Aside from the annoyance brought about by attacking other commentators, I am also disturbed by the company Kyle may start keeping going forward. David Dolt, Mikey-Boy Figueredo and Emma "My Parents Were Corporate Lawyers but I'm Totally a Populist, Guys" Vigeland, the Three Stooges of BreadTube who have a combined IQ of roughly 50—if you toss Cherry Limeade or whatever TF her name is in there that number stays around the same—are liberals who masquerade as leftists. Mikey-Boy fancies himself an acolyte of Richard Dawkins, a bloodthirsty madman who has cheered on the subjugation of Gaza. David and Emma have smeared Dr. Stein. All three have willingly thrown their lot in with exposed-PDF file Vaush and I haven't heard them say one critical word concerning our tax dollars being stolen on behalf of the liberal darling in combat fatigues, whereas, with all their flaws, Ana has criticized the exorbitant nature of Ukraine aid while Cenk has stood with her against sending fighter jets to Kiev. Tell me how these people are to TYT's left again? I also find it strange that Kyle suddenly feels the need to defend the honor of Sam Seder given that the only time I can recall him even speaking of Uncle Sam was to reprimand him for running down Jimmy Dore back before Dore's grift became blatant. Nothing about this makes any sense from any sober perspective.
For a good while, I've considered TYT to effectively be kindergarten for baby leftists. Sure, they're not radical by any stretch of the imagination, but they have played a inextricable role in shaping budding bleeding-hearts into champions of the movement. I would know, as I started watching them well before I discovered Kyle, Hasan or almost any other left-wing thought leader. To exile them from the arena benefits no one. I have to wonder if perhaps Cenk said something behind the scenes that offended Kyle considering that he has now not only attacked him, but also neglected to mention his name when listing Biden's primary challengers recently despite including him in the past. In any case, I hope Kyle reconsiders this path he has started down for the sake of remaining clear-eyed and policy-focused in a world that is now ebbing closer to dark despair than ever before.
TL;DR: I have many issues with TYT, but for Kyle to follow the cancerous route of Progressive Voice and the Vanguard Boys by paying any mind to leftist/progressive in-fighting would diminish the weight that his platform has carried for almost two decades.
