hit a distance pr out of nowhere today and i’m so proud of myself
my last pr was 4 miles and today i ran along with the first long run on the nike app and beyond. my watch and nike app were mismatched in distance so i kept rationalizing making it to the next mile and then i got to 9 and needed an even number since i was already there 😭
i started running over the summer this year after only weightlifting and miscellaneous cardio workouts, completing my first 5k after a couple weeks of getting into it but then i fell off when the school year started and def gained some weight. now that im on break, its been about a week using the nike app and it’s reshaped my idea of running w the guided runs, i seriously love it and im so happy i ended 2024 with a huge milestone and im excited to see what 2025 holds!
also im really scared for the recovery of this run, my legs felt so sore after but i took a quick shower, long bath, some carbs and electrolytes, and water and i stretched. does anyone have tips on how to recover if i wake up feeling incredibly sore tomorrow? (send prayers)
