Question Best Shorts You Have Ever Owned?
Whether it’s comfort, quality, or durability, what’s the best pair of shorts you have ever owned?
I’ve owned a pair of the black Lululemon 6” Lined Surge shorts for going on 3 years and I still run in them. The reflective hit on the hem has faded off, but other than that they are indestructible.
Mesh liner is comfortable, plenty of storage, they look pretty good, it’s honestly annoying how reliable they have been because they have outlasted all of my other, much more expensive shorts.

Question Best soar products
I am (hopefully) going to complete the Soar solstice challenge tomorrow which gets you a £60 voucher on orders over £120.
I’m keen to get one of the race vests but I need to get something else as well to make the threshold.
Any recommendations on the best items? I sadly can’t afford the £200-300 jackets, but any standouts around the £100-120 mark?

Question Singlets for tall people (6’4)
For all you not short runners out there, what name brand singlets do you wear on race day? It seems as if everything is made for short people in the running world. I’m 6’4 and 9 times out of 10 any singlet or “running” top I get is always too short and rides up. I’m only 205 pounds pretty slender build so getting a gigantic size doesn’t really help and looks stupid bc it’s just baggy and still short

Question Where is the running (fashion space) heading?
Open question: Where is the running (fashion) space heading?
There's no doubt that running is experiencing an influx of new participants, with more and more people taking part in marathons, half-marathons, and similar events.
On the brand side, we are seeing new entrants such as Bandit Running and Satisfy, while established brands are partnering with these newcomers—for example, ASICS x Bandit and Satisfy x HOKA. We are also seeing a "third wave" of running stores opening up across the world.
I wonder where this space is headed. Will these new entrants remain small, or will one of them become the next Nike or HOKA? Or have we yet to see the emergence of the next Nike? Will there be a new foot locker for running?
I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the current landscape.

Question 🏃♂️ Running Fashion Survey 2024
Hey all!
I wanted to run a quick survey on everyone's running fashion and gear preferences from 2024. Curious to hear about your favorite releases, brand impressions, and what you loved (or hated) this year.
The survey is anonymous (only collecting age and which gender you primarily shop for) and takes ~5 minutes.
Disclaimer: I make $0 on this, it's purely to see what the ~7k people here think! The data I'll share only aggregated results here and on my substack.

Question Wool base layer recommendations
Since we’ve been on the topic of different items and which is best, I figure I’d ask you all about your favorite wool base layer.
A lot of people mentioned in the Satisfy thread that the CloudMerino is super nice but I think it’s just so overt the top expensive that I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
Living in the UK, I also have easy access to Soar and they’ve got some wool and silk base layers that seem quite decent but I’ve also read some of you saying that certain Soar items have been fragile.
Perhaps the most obvious one would be the Brighton from Tracksmith, or even the Harrier. The Brighton seems to get lots of really good reviews from Tracksmith fans but at its price, I could also consider Soar and others.
Then there’s the question of whether I want a more plain shirt or something more branded. Satisfy and Soar are pretty simplistic in their designs but that might be nice for a wool layer. Tracksmith obviously has a bit more of that collegiate vibe. I do have items from all three brands so I have familiarity with all of them.
The plainest option might also be something like Icebreaker merino but my sense is that it might be better as a proper base layer for other winter activities, whereas the running brands would be better to use when actually running.
Any thoughts or other suggestions? It’s getting cold enough that I think I should have a wool long sleeve in my rotation.

Question I’m trying to index all running brands, what am I missing?
instagram.comI’ve been trying to index the entire running landscape but I’m sure I’m missing out on some brands. What’s still missing from this list? The more obscure, the better!

Question Sweatbands recommendations?
Hey all any recommendations for sweatbands? I see many options from Halo, some regular Nike and under armor ones, some more expensive ones from Lululemon etc. I need them for a treadmill running and indoor cycling to absorb sweat and prevent it from building up on my head and dripping into my eyes. Any experience or anyone tried different types of headbands and can recommend? They're mostly for my indoor workouts while I sweat a lot and there's no wind to take away the sweat. Thank you

Question What's your favorite BUDGET piece of running gear / fashion?
One of the things I love about running is how accessible it is. Just a pair of running shoes and you can get going(and some people may not even need that)! Spending a lot of money on shorts, socks, gear, etc. I've found that sometimes my favorite items are pretty inexpensive. Do you have a budget / cheap piece of gear you swear by?

Question Good Bulk Merino Wool Socks?
Good, plain, black or white, quarter or half-crew, merino wool socks. Cannot stand branding on socks. Five-finger would be awesome but not a must.

Question Old school looking for new brands
I’ve been using Nike apparel for years but I’m kinda bored now. I live in Singapore so what I mostly need are running singlets, t-shirts, and shorts (for a 40m)… can you all please drop in names of some alternative and indie brands that I can check out to change up my running gear? I know there are a lot of names floating around on the sub but it would be good to have them all in one place. Thank you.

Question What are your favorite fall running items?
Easily the best time to run, we're now officially in fall season for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Fall comes with some transitional weather, which can especially tricky if you're finishing a run away from home and don't have a bag drop. I'd love to hear your fall running staples and why you love them!

Question I just wanna get you guys input
I’ve been owning a gym studio for some time now and finally decided to make some apparel. My gym brand slogan is Find your extra and I’m putting it on a hat. I wanted a performance trucker hat which I indeed like but having trouble picking a font for the front of the hat.

Question Black Diamond gear? Any experience with this?
Running a race on Thanksgiving and weather looks not great. Wife got me a Black Diamond Alpine Start jacket when she was at a Sierra Trading Post and seems it may help. Don’t currently have a windbreaker or anything and need some new cold weather gear.
After some research, it seems it’s not the best water repellent, but still does ok. But it does help with wind while remaking breathable. I think it’s more of a hiking/climbing jacket, but it’s super light and seems it could still be good for running.
Curious if anyone has any experience with this or this brand. Found it for $60 new, and looks like it normally costs a good bit more.

Question Light Running Jacket
I’m looking for a light running jacket that is at least water repellent and not fluorescent yellow. The catch is that I want to keep it under $60 and prefer no hood. I don’t care if it’s this years model or the brand. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Question Brand Name Feedback
hello all, hope you dont mind but I'd really love your feedback. My friend and I are passionate runners and we're keen to make a funky running sock brand with vibrant designs and colours. We also want to pick a name that could potentially go beyond socks. The target market is young professionals between 25-40 - that attend run clubs. We've come up with a few names but would like to get some feedback:
Nu-mono (meaning the 'new one' - as in the new running brand)
Miles that Matter (In our socks you'll run miles that matter)
Southstride (we're from the South of Ireland)
Zone 2 (play on Zone 2 training that runners do in their training)
Open to any critique whatsoever

Question Where to buy running clothes other than Ebay, Grailed?
Hi everyone. Just had a question about how people go about buying exclusive running gear for resell. For example, I've been really wanting the Satisfy Auralite Desert Tee, cannot find anywhere on Ebay or Grailed. I just feel like there isn't a go-to platform to resort to when it comes to second-hand / resell running gear...
So my question is: where do people find what they are looking for? Any subreddits for this purpose?
Any help would be appreciated!
