Needs Rehoming šŸ¾ i need to rehome my boy

my living situation doesnā€™t allow me to keep my baby. in the meantime he is safe and has everything he needs, but iā€™ve bought all the time i can to find him a new home. iā€™ve even resorted to looking at shelters in the immediate and surrounded areas, and they are all either full or donā€™t take pets from outside of their jurisdictions.

he is a beautiful soul, a 1.5y neutered male tux named Oscar. he would do best in a single-pet household without children, or even better as a ranch/large acreage cat- he has a high prey drive and loves the sunshine and getting dirty, despite my best efforts to keep his formalwear clean and pressed.

if you live in the inland empire and inland valley areas of southern california and may be able to take him, please contact me through my direct messages to discuss details. i am willing and able to bring him to you if you live around these areas.

If you are willing to ship him to Wisconsin, I can take him. I have cats, but I have experience introducing new cats to the household.

Otherwise, try reaching out to the rescues that usually help with the Devore shelter: Kitt Crusaders, BAR, etc. Reach out to the mods for the full list.

Do you anticipate your living situation will change? Perhaps one of the rescues will foster him until your situation changes and you can take him back.

thank you so much, i appreciate your kindness more than words can say. would it be okay to bear you in mind, in case i canā€™t find someone within driving distance of me? iā€™ve never shipped an animal before and wouldnā€™t be sure how to go about it.

thank you for the resources! <3

unfortunately iā€™m out of work right now with an injury, but im on the hunt for a new job. in the meantime though my future is very uncertain, and poor oscar has been waiting on me to sort things out for months. itā€™s just time for him to have a better shot at life, heā€™s a pure soul and deserves the world.

If you just need help providing for him (food, litter, etc.) try reaching out to local rescues and the Humane Society - they often have help available to help keep pets in their home, which is the best option. You can also contact the mods and see if theyā€™ll allow you to request donations.

Honestly, the best outcome for Oscar is staying with you - the person he knows and loves - but if thatā€™s really not an option, try to find a no-kill shelter that has room. You can keep me in mind as a backup, but itā€™s going to be costly getting him here.

People have used Southwest Airlines to fly cats, I think itā€™s $125 but the cat has to be in good health and no behavior issues. Otherwise thereā€™s pet transport companies, but that gets REALLY expensive.
